Will the pounds fall off when you use self hypnosis to lose weight? It depends what you mean by 'fall off'.
If you mean ten pounds per week, then the answer is no. Those promises are made by diet pills or crazy exercise routines. You'll also see those kinds of results on t.v. shows where the contestants work out all day with personal trainers and prepare food with the help of a nutritionist.
If you mean, losing weight easily and comfortably without even realizing it, then yes. This is what self hypnosis can do for you. It sure worked for me.
I listened to audio recordings as I went about my day in the usual way. I listened and repeated affirmations out loud while I took a shower, did the laundry and while I drove to work. Pretty soon, I noticed that the more I repeated these statements they began to become a part of my natural thought process.
Soon enough, my thoughts translated into action. All of a sudden, I found myself saying no to second helpings. I reached for a banana instead of a favorite cookie. I took my leftovers home from the restaurant in a doggie bag instead of leaving a clean plate.
With the magic of self hypnosis, I could see the results revealed when I stepped on the scale and when I looked in the mirror.
How does it work?
Self hypnosis reprograms your subconscious mind with ideas and thoughts that support losing weight at a healthy rate. This is most easily done when your conscious mind is busy doing other things so that it can't be critical and reject the new ideas and suggestions.
It works really well when you are in a deeply relaxed state. That might include a hypnotic trance induction, a guided meditation or simply those last few moments before you fall asleep at night.
The messages also sink in when your mind is consciously busy with other things like when you are driving your car, cooking the dinner or going for a walk.
For best results with your self hypnosis experience, take the time to prepare and record your own suggestions. Many find it easier to use a recorded audio. Chose which method works for you and then be consistent with it.
I really don't want to work that hard. Why should you?
If you let it, self hypnosis for weight loss will make the pounds fall off.

Self Hypnosis For Weight Loss: Is It Just Willpower? by Sherri Frost
Willpower is the self discipline and self control that most people turn to when they decide they want to lose weight. It is the ability to maintain control over your mind and body.
For example, Mary has decided to lose weight. She creates a meal plan for the week and goes to the grocery store and buys what she needs. After work, on Friday, she is invited to an impromptu get-together. Mary knows that the foods on her carefully prepared meal plan won't be served there. She worries about whether or not she will be able to maintain her self control and choose something that isn't too fattening. If not, she'll ruin her entire week of dieting willpower. She spends all day thinking of her eating strategy for the evening and tries to bolster her willpower.
She says things to herself like:
"I will not eat the bread"
"I will not have dessert"
The problem is that she starts thinking "I like the bread and dessert, it makes me feel good." She'll start to argue with herself, trying to convince herself what not to eat. If she gives up on willpower and makes the choice to eat dessert, she'll feel guilty later. If she passes on the dessert, she'll be happy with herself.
That thought process is tiring and it's one big reason why many diets fail. What if Mary didn't have to go to all that trouble? It just isn't fun to go through that whole process. It gets tiring and eventually you give up, maybe even thinking to yourself "I'll never lose weight"
You can be sure that the naturally slender person is not thinking that way.
Gregg, on the other hand, is planning to go to the same event. Without thinking about the food, he decides to go because he realizes it will be fun to socialize with his co-workers and get to know them better. Gregg is naturally slender and automatically makes choices about what he will eat based on a healthy choice. He stops eating when he is comfortably satisfied and doesn't worry if the leftover food will go to waste.
Doesn't that sound better?
Self hypnosis changes all that self talk so that it agrees with your conscious mind. When your conscious mind says "I make choices about food that are healthy" Your subconscious mind agrees, leading to the behavioral choices that you want.
Self hypnosis begins in a state of relaxation with your conscious mind also relaxed. Your mind will be more open to accepting suggestions for weight loss. When you accept these suggestions, you'll act upon them. Some people like to create their own self hypnosis sessions and others like to use a recorded audio. Choose the method that works for you.
Self hypnosis for weight loss is not willpower. It's so much more powerful. How will you make the time to fit this into your daily routine?

Self Hypnosis For Weight Loss: Is It Safe? by Sherri Frost
Do you wonder if it is really safe to use self hypnosis for weight loss? Maybe you are afraid you will lose control of your free will. Some are afraid they might do things they might not do otherwise because they saw it happen in a stage show or watching a movie.
At a stage show, you might see someone talk like an alien or forget something simple like how to count to ten. It seems like they have lost their free will, not to mention their minds.
One of my favorite movies features hypnosis prominently. Whenever the villain says a certain word, the main character drops whatever he is doing, gets a vacant, zombie look in his eyes and commits a crime against his will without remembering it.
All of these things create the image in our mind of hypnosis as some kind of mysterious or weird type of mind control. That couldn't be further from the truth.
Those people participating in a stage show are there to have fun and the hypnotist will chose the people who show the most excitement. As for a movie, it makes sense to write a story line that is entertaining whether or not it represents the facts.
I don't have to tell you that weight loss is not entertainment. I'm sure you are well aware of that.
When you choose to use self hypnosis to lose weight, you use the power of your mind for your own benefit. You create your own story and it's not for entertainment.
Self hypnosis is completely safe because you are in control of what's happening. Here's why:
1. You choose the suggestions that will benefit you in your weight loss journey.
2. You choose the time and place that is comfortable for you.
3. You will choose the frequency and duration of the session.
Some find that they would rather go to a trusted hypnotist to guide them through the process or they may want to use recorded cd's to make it even easier. If you are afraid that the hypnotist will suggest something harmful, don't worry. Your conscious mind will quickly pick up on it and block it out. Trust would be lost and the session would be over. A hypnotist understands this and will only give the suggestions that you actually WANT to hear and bring into your life.
Whatever method you choose, self hypnosis for weight loss is absolutely safe. You can be sure of that.

PCP And Urologist Fail To Detect Man's Prostate Cancer For 5 Years by Joseph Hernandez
Prostate cancer is a dreadful disease. Even if not perfect doctors use diagnostics tests to doctors to establish if a patient has the cancer. But as a consequence of the chance of false negatives (a negative test result even though the patient in fact has cancer) doctors have to follow up and redo tests as appropriate if patient symptoms and screening tests keep showing the possibility of cancer. The failure to do so may reslt in a malpractice claim.
In one documented case a man communcated to his family physician that he was having urinary frequency and burning. The doctor began the man on antibiotics and refered him to a urologist. The urologist did a cystoscopy which revealed that the individual had an enlarged prostate. The urologist also ordered a PSA blood test which came back a 16.3 (anything higher than a 4.0 is normally considered to be abnormal). As a result the urologist performed a biopsy 2 months later. The biopsy was read by a pathologist as exhibiting no sign of cancer.
The subsequent year the man returned to the urologist. On this occasion the PSA blood test was a 2.9 (generally considered to be normal). The urologist diagnosed the patient with BPH (a benign enlargement of the prostate). After 3 months the man saw the PCP for fever and nocturia (having to urinate during the night). The physician began him again on antibiotics. A follow up urine culture showed up negative. The PCP consequently referred the individual back to the urologist. The urologist ordered a PSA test which registered a 6.4 (again, high).
A biopsy examines parts of the prostate. As a result, a biopsy may not catch the cancer. Yet, the urologist decided to depend on the prior year’s biopsy and to not do another one as a follow up. Rather, the urologist did nothing to do anything more regarding the male's complaints and abnormal PSA.
The next year the man went back to his primary care physician. His symptoms including nocturia persisted. On physical examination the doctor noted that the individual had a highly enlarged prostate. Still, the physician did not do another a PSA or re-refer the individual to a urologist. Standard blood testing 4 months later showed that the person's PSA was at 7.4 Neither physician followed up in any way.
One more year goes by and now the family doctor documented that the PSA level was 9.8 Again, no follow up or referral to a urologist. Yet another year and the man continues to have problems with nocturia. This time the PSA was 9.7 No follow up and no referral. On the fifth yea following the male patient's earliest claims of urinary problems the family doctor again documented a appreciably enlarged prostate gland and a PSA that had reached a 31. The doctor finally refered the patient back to the urologist.
The urologist verified that the patient’s prostate was enlarged and put the man a 2 week regimen of antibiotics to be followed by an additional PSA blood test. After the PSA test was done two weeks later it showed a 33. A biopsy was then finally done which found cancer in all six of the samples.
Testing eventually found that the man had cancer metastasis to the lymph nodes, the liver and bone. Even with hormone therapy and radiation therapy the man died close to eighteen months subsequent to his diagnosis. The law firm that represented his family recorded that the case settled for $1.0 Million.

Traditional Medications Can Help to Relieve Mesothelioma Pain by Wendy Moyer
Mesothelioma victims can experience a substantial amount of pain. However, there are medications that can make them more comfortable.
Experiencing a physical pain in one's chest or abdomen may be the first sign of mesothelioma. And, if the disease has spread, people may also feel pain in other parts of their body. As the disease spreads and the mesothelioma tumor grows other symptoms may appear.
What is the Cause of Mesothelioma Pain?
One of the most common symptoms of mesothelioma is a buildup of fluids. As a mesothelioma tumor gets larger it produces a fluid in the patient's abdomen or chest. If the fluid is in a person's chest it will compress the lung and can cause severe pain.
As the fluid increases it will slowly crush vital organs. When that happens a person usually loses his appetite and often finds it very difficult to sleep.
It can be challenging to completely eliminate the pain but there are a number of proven ways to reduce any discomfort. This should not be shied away from because the sooner pain treatment is initiated the more effective it will be. And when a patient physically feels better their quality of their life will improve.
A number of medications have been prescribed that will help mesothelioma patients deal with their pain. Often the type of drug that is recommended will depend on the severity of the pain.
For Mild to Moderate Mesothelioma Pain
If a mesothelioma patient is experiencing relatively mild to moderate pain then non-opoid drugs are often prescribed to relieve that pain. These include anti-inflammatory and non-steroidal drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen as well as acetaminophen.
Non-opoids may be administered orally, subcutaneously (through injection), intravenously, or rectally. Other therapies may be prescribed along with the non-opoids to help alleviate the pain.
For Moderate to Severe Mesothelioma Pain
Opoids, which are narcotic pain relievers, may be prescribed to reduce moderate to severe pain. This class of drug includes codeine, oxycodone, fenatnyl, and morphine.
These drugs, which could be prescribed at any stage of treatment for the disease, can be combined with other therapies or other drugs if the pain is severe. Mesothelioma patients rarely face the danger of becoming addicted to opoids.
Additional Medications
Depending on what is trying to be accomplished, other drugs may be prescribed. For example, there are a number of medications such as anticonvulsants that can alleviate the tingling and burning pain that mesothelioma patients experience. These pains are a result of nerve damage.
And sometimes, even if a patient isn't depressed, a doctor will prescribe an antidepressant.
Some drugs can reduce swelling while others can be injected to block a nerve. This will reduce severe pain for several hours. These drugs are used primarily if a patient is experiencing chronic or acute pain.
More radical treatments are also available.

How Exactly Do Pimples Form? by George Hutton
There is a common disease, a skin disease, that 96% of all people get at some point during their life. This disease isn't dangerous, or deadly, or won't even make you sick. But this can have a devastating effect on your self esteem and your self confidence, as it hits when we are least prepared to deal with, which is during those difficult times of adolescence. What I'm referring to, is acne. What exactly is acne?
Acne is what happens when one or more (usually more, a lot more) pilosebaceous units goes haywire. What happens inside these little units, of which you have millions of, is responsible for those unsightly blackheads and whiteheads you may very well have right now. The vast majority get acne during puberty, and it can linger up through the mid twenties, or even longer in some cases. So far, there hasn't been any way to determine the length of an acne outbreak.
What exactly is going on inside these small units? Well, lets take a look at the structure. The basic components of this unit is a hair follicle, a pore, and a couple of oil producing glands called sebaceous glands. These sebaceous glands must always be making sebum, or skin oil, in order to keep your skin from getting to dry and damaged.
Because our bodies are designed very efficiently, often we have one element performing two or more different functions, and this little unit is no different. A hair can be made here, and oil is also made here, the oil that keeps your skin healthy. When everything is functioning normally, there's no problem.
The problems begin when the top of the pore becomes clogged for some reason. There are many potential causes for this, which will be the subject of another article. But when this pore gets clogged, that's when you can get acne. The sebaceous glands continue to produce oil, which of course causes a massive increase in pressure inside this tiny little unit on your skin. This can lead to pustules or nodules being formed as well as inflammation. This just means that there is pressure inside this little unit, and there is no where to go.
The secret is to not only get rid of it once you get it, but to also figure out how to keep from getting it in the first place. Many times this will be the identical remedy, in the form of topically applied creams and remedies. Other solutions include changes in diet, and different stress management programs, and even hormone therapy.

Beautiful Smiles Created Painlessly With Porcelain Veneers by Nick Messe
Many of us need tooth repairs, but are reluctant, or afraid, to endure the discomfort and pain of the dental work involved. Dentistry now provides many methods of relaxation or sedation to relieve the discomfort. Porcelain veneers offer results that are natural and beautiful.
A porcelain veneer is a very thin sheet of porcelain bonded onto the front of a tooth. The porcelain is natural looking and translucent like tooth enamel. Porcelain costs more than its alternative, composite resin, but it is more durable and beautiful to look at. Porcelain, of course, is a fragile material by itself. However, when adhered to a hard surface, it becomes quite strong.
Veneers are used to correct minor imperfections or discolorations of teeth. A dental crown is a shell, or cap that completely fits over the existing tooth. It looks just like a real tooth. The actual tooth is filed down to fit under the crown. This is another option to repair a tooth that has a major break, very large filling, or other damage.
The procedure that involves placing porcelain veneers on teeth is amazing. The first step is to shave, or trim the enamel of the front of the tooth. This enables the porcelain to bond to the tooth. The dentist will trim about the same amount of enamel as the thickness of the veneer so the tooth will remain its same size.
The amount is so slight that it does not damage the tooth. After the enamel surface is prepared, an impression of the tooth is created. The veneer is made to match this impression either by a dental laboratory technician, which may take two weeks, or by a machine in the office. The machine creates it the same day.
In the event that it is a longer wait, the dentist may place a temporary veneer on the tooth. The veneer will be made to match the color of the other teeth and as close to the shape of the tooth as possible. The color of the veneer is actually determined by the color of the cement used to bond the veneer to the tooth. The cement shows through the translucent veneer.
Using great precision, the dentist is able to create a beautifully natural tooth. The patient and dentist, together, will judge the best shape and color before it is bonded. An acidic gel roughens the surface of the tooth for stronger bonding, then the veneer is cemented to the tooth. A special light is shone on the cemented veneer to cure it, which takes a few minutes. The final step is smoothing away excess cement and shaping, if needed.
Dentists may provide massage chairs, blankets, pillows, soft music, as well as laughing gas, or Novocaine, to alleviate any discomfort and pain involved in these procedures. Dentists work very hard to make these visits as comfortable as possible. A dentist's trained precision with today's technological advances can restore teeth to their original, undamaged appearance. Soon you'll have that beautiful smile, painlessly.

Child Develops Cerebral Palsy As A Result Of Error By Medical Staff by Joseph Hernandez
In the course of labor, pregnant women are normally attached to a fetal heart rate monitor. The data from the monitor is used to track whether the baby is well or is in fetal distress. Should such warning signs appear measures need to be taken right away to counteract the situation or to deliver the child. Any delay can lead to significant and permanent harm to the infant. By delaying taking timely and appropriate action doctors and nurses may be acting in a manner that does not meet the standard of care. If this does lead to injury to the baby, these physicians and nurses may be liable for medical malpractice.
Look at a published case regarding what had been a normal pregnancy, the expectant mother was 13 days past her due date. She was hospitalized for the planned delivery of her baby. After her admission to the hospital, one of the doctors ruptured her membranes in an attempt to enhance her labor. The woman's records indicate that there was “scant to no amniotic fluid” observed. At some point the fetal heart rate monitor started to exhibit non-reassuring tracings. But, 6 hours later a drug was used in order to stimulate her contractions. Despite the fact that this medication has a known risk leading to hyperstimulation, the administration of the drug was continuously increased during the period of the next few hours.
During this time, the unborn baby’s heart rate showed marked late decelerations, an increasing baseline, along with intervals of decreasing variability the medication did nothing to further her labor. On more than one occasion, two nurses attempted to counteract the decelerations however neither made any attempt to stop or even decrease the drug being used. Nearly 7 hours subsequent to the first time the medication was used, the fetal heart rate began steadily rising. This was a signal that the unborn child was seeking to compensate for the lack of oxygen.
Finally, almost four hours after the signs of fetal distress appeared the obstetrician attempted a vacuum extraction. This physician made multiple attempts (nine in total) at vacuum extraction. As the obstetrician tried the vacuum extraction, the fetal heart rate readings deteriorated to the point suspicious for terminal bradycardia. When this happened this doctor at last ordered an emergency C-section. The obstetrician delivered the infant just over 1 hour following beginning the use of vacuum extraction.
The woman's records noted the presence of dense meconium. On being born, the child did not have a heart rate and was not breathing. Resuscitation efforts were able to revive the baby. The infant was transferred to NICU unit. In the NICU unit the baby began having seizures. The child was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a result of an prolonged period of oxygen deprivation. The law firm that handled the resulting lawsuit announced that it settled for $4.0 million.

Colitis: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment by James S Pendergraft
Colitis has become a common disease. It is one of those diseases which involve digestion problems. This disease involves a swelling of the intestine. Colitis may not be severe but it can be chronic too. The cause of this disease can also be known as the crohn's disease which is also a bloating of the digestive section from the anus to the mouth.
There are many causes for colitis. These causes decide how the symptoms of colitis are going to happen. Many bacteria normally reside in the colon; they live in harmony with the body and cause no symptoms or problems. The symptoms can include weight loss, bleeding in stools, loss of hunger and pain in the abdomen. The existence of this disease can be revealed through colonoscopy which is the test conducted for the diagnosis of this ailment. The diagnosis can be done by getting the medical past of the patient. Even some kind of physical exams like stool culture can make the doctors know about the existence of colitis.
X-rays and tomography are also done to find out about this ailment. There are various versions of this ailment. The fulminating colitis has different kinds of symptoms which include fever, diarrhea and anemia. Fulminant colitis is any colitis that becomes worse rapidly. This kind of colitis needs to be treated immediately. On the initial treatment no matter what is the cause of colitis the main goal is to rehydrate the patient and make sure to contro lthe pain. People who have developed this kind of colitis can only be cured through surgery. In fact, this kind of colitis can also affect animals like horses. When it affects them, they can die almost within a day. Another kind of colitis is also quite dangerous. It's known by the name of spastic colitis.
This version has similar symptoms as the irritable bowel syndrome. People can take some simple steps to improve their condition apart from consulting a doctor. Such simple steps include daily light exercices. They should also refrain from taking oily foods which can cause inflammation. The consumption of water should be an important part of the diet. The water should be clean and filtered. Drinking more water is necessary because such colitis is accompanied with abdominal pain which can be reduced by taking more water. Consuming holistic supplements is also beneficial. Getting acupuncture treatments can also help.

Different Types Of Eye Doctor by Kathryn Dawson
There a few different types of eye specialists. Some are physicians, some are not but when you are suffering from eye problems or a condition that is affecting your sight, it is important that you understand the basics of eye care which includes information about the different eye specialists and doctors available. Most people have heard of an ophthalmologist, an optometrist and an optician, but fewer have come across an oculist or an ocularist. This article acts as a guide to all the different eye specialists who may be involved with your own eye care.
An oculist is actually another term for an ophthalmologist. They are medical doctors or physicians which means they have attended medical school. They are able to diagnose and treat all conditions and diseases that occur in the eye including carrying out laser eye surgery.
An optician is not a physician because they have not attended medical school. They mainly deal with prescribing glasses and contact lenses. An optician will generally have a shop where customers can go for a quick eye test and assessment as to whether glasses are necessary. The optician will dispense lenses to those who need them. They do not carry out invasive treatment of the eyes or provide medical prescriptions.
An optometrist is also not a physician, but they are licensed to examine refractive problems in the eyes by mechanical means. They have undergone many years training as optometrists but not attended medical school. They can perform eye examinations and prescribe glasses and contact lenses, but they are not able to use or prescribe any drugs. If your optometrist discovers a problem with your eyes they will refer you to an ophthalmologist.
An ocularist is actually the technician who creates artificial or prosthetic parts of the eye. When a person undergoes cataract surgery for example, the existing cloudy lens is removed and replaced by an artificial one. An ocularist makes the artificial lens.
Although all of these titles are associated with eye care, it is the ophthalmologist who is the official "eye doctor". They must undertake full medical training and additional training in the field of ophthalmology in order to become a licensed ophthalmologist.
The question to ask therefore is who do you visit when you want to have an eye test or you think you may have a problem? Well, you could go straight to the top and book an appointment with an ophthalmologist. You could end up waiting a while for an appointment however and if it turns out there is nothing seriously wrong then it could be a waste of time. If you are having problems with your sight then the best route is to head to your local optician who will be able to carry out a basic eye assessment and test whether or not you need glasses. They will be able to suggest an optometrist to you if you want to undertake further examination. This is the path most people take if they are only experiencing minor problems with their sight. If you are suffering from blurred vision or seeing lines that are wavy for example then you should book an appointment with an ophthalmologist as there may be something more seriously wrong.
You should regularly undergo eye tests throughout your life as catching a problem early means there is the greatest chance of getting rid of it before it does any serious damage. Regular check ups with an eye doctor are important and should occur at least once per year. If you are having trouble with your site, it may be caused by a minor condition such as blepharospasm or it may be something more serious that will require laser vision correction. Either way, regular check ups will be a big help.

Cataract operations – A routine surgery by Kathryn Dawson
Cataract operations are extremely common, although if you have to have the surgery you may be somewhat anxious. There is really no need to worry as surgeons perform this sort of operation every day.
Cataracts occur when the lens of the eye goes cloudy – like a pane of frosted glass – and vision is impaired a great deal. This can affect people of any age, although it is much more common in people over 60. Cataracts can be caused by age, although if they occur in younger people it could be due to an underlying medical condition such as diabetes.
Cataract surgery involves the removal of this cloudy lens and replacing it with a synthetic clear lens which then helps to greatly improve vision. This is the only effective treatment which provides long term benefits. With the latest advances in technology it is possible for cataract operations to be carried out as soon as the condition begins to impair your ability to carry out everyday tasks.
Prior to the operation being carried out, you will undergo a pre-surgery check to clarify the details of the surgery. This will be done on a separate visit to the hospital. The operation is usually carried out under a local anaesthetic, which means that you will be awake but will feel nothing. There will be somebody with you to explain what is happening and while you may be aware of some movement, you are unlikely to see any real details of the operation. Some people undergo the operation with a general anaesthetic and will be unaware of anything while the surgery is being carried out.
Cataract operations can be carried out leaving little or no visible trace. The specialist performing the surgery makes a small opening in the eye and stitches are often not necessary. There is also no need for you to be concerned about being in an operating theatre for any length of time as most cataract operations last no more than 20 minutes. Following the surgery, you will have to wear a pad or protective shield over the eye to prevent any accidental damage while the eye is recovering.
Following the operation you may find that complete recovery can take a few months. Glasses may still be needed as the synthetic lenses that are used are normally for distance vision, so for reading or using a computer you may still have to use glasses. However, you should be aware that if you had glasses for distance vision then your prescription may have to be changed.
You will need to use eye drops for a few months after cataract operations and for a short while strenuous activity and severe weather conditions should be avoided, in order to allow the eye to adjust and heal.
The popularity of Lasik Laser eye surgery may leave you wondering if this would be an option, but you should be aware that it is not suitable for cataracts. However, if following surgery you suffer a thickening of the lens casing, laser surgery can then be used as an effective treatment.
If you are concerned that you may have cataracts then you should consult a medical professional, but there are a number of symptoms that you can look out for. The most common symptom is blurred vision, where everything you see appears hazy. You may also find that you are dazzled by bright lights, so may find it difficult to be out in the sunlight. Your ability to distinguish colours may also be affected. There are other conditions which can cause similar symptoms, such as dry and wet macular degeneration, and your optician will be able to rule out other possible causes.

Reasons To Look At Foods With A Low Glycemic Index by Andrew Mason
We have enough evidence to tell us that if we are trying to look after our heart condition we should eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. These foods have the properties that we are looking for, if we are trying to control blood sugar levels. This type of carbohydrate will help us to steer clear of the peaks and valleys, which occur during internal processing and are typically associated with elevated insulin levels and the onset of diabetes. Should you aim for foods that are found at the lower end of the glycemic index, exclusively? Should you focus just on fruits and vegetables and avoid everything else? As always, sweeping generalizations are not a good idea and we need to look at each individual food, as some surprises are in store when you least expect.
Foods that are found toward the bottom end of the glycemic index, a scale which runs between zero and 100, are generally felt to be much better at controlling weight and regulating insulin. These foods are categorized according to the amount of time that it takes for your body to process them. However, we cannot classify foods of one category as being "favorable," while others are not. For example, watermelon, one of the most refreshing and theoretically "beneficial" foods that we enjoy during the summer months, has a relatively high glycemic index of 72.
We are all looking for the perfect diet and should take some time to study the way that the index is put together. While we are looking for the best foods, we will come across the potato, one of the common staples of our diet. Depending on how this is prepared, it can either fall within the "moderate" classification, or toward the high end of the scale. By baking a potato you will push it to the top of the index, but if you steam it, you will be in the middle.
Most of the green, leafy vegetables promoted by health experts around the world are to be found, with the majority of fruits, at the bottom of the index. We can certainly focus on eating these every day, but we don't necessarily want to avoid those at the top end of the index, either. There has to be a certain amount of variety in the diet, if we are to make it work.
The Surgeon General is quick to tell us that we should focus our daily diets on the consumption of breads and cereals. The glycemic index tells us to narrow this down, though. Avoid that refined wheat whenever you can, but focus on whole grains instead. These grains have a lot of essential fiber, which helps us to process everything, steadily.
A good diet would be composed of fruits and vegetables together with appropriately sized servings of lean protein. Protein is good as it can regulate the otherwise negative effects of some high glycemic index foods. Narrow this down even more by focusing on fish, which has a lot of those Omega-3 fatty acids and valuable nutrients.
Protein is beneficial, but must be regulated by itself. Beware of the fat content and ensure that you strike a good balance as you compose a nutritional and tasty diet. You don't need many of those potentially damaging simple carbs, after all.

Laughter Yoga— A Fun Way To Good Health by Amy twain
All throughout history of mankind, the celebration of a bountiful and abundant harvest has always been a yearly happening. Harvest festivals have been made a tradition amongst all races, cultures and nations. And long before organized religion came to be, the Greeks, Chinese, Hebrews, Romans and Egyptians have all had their own harvest celebrations.
And in America, the very first Thanksgiving celebration occurred in 1621. Sans the help of the Native Americans, the explorers would not have yielded plentiful crops nor would they have survived their earliest winters. These Native Americans shared and contributed to this occasion with the Pilgrims since the latter had learned how to hunt wild animals and how to plant crops in the New World according to Native American cultures.
The Pilgrim’s festival of harvests is deemed as the original Thanksgiving celebration, but in essence, the term “Thanksgiving” was naturally pertained to a religious holiday till the 19th century. The foremost celebrations in America were not referred to as “Thanksgiving”. It is often thought that seafood was a chief element in the harvest celebration due to the propinquity of the colonists to the Atlantic Ocean.
Thanksgiving Day was officially approved as an annual event by New York State in 1817. In the year 1863, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national holiday of Thanksgiving, so since then each president has given their Thanksgiving Day pronouncement. From the years 1939-1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt announced the 3rd Thursday of November as officially Thanksgiving Day, yet in 1941 The Congress passed a resolution affirming that it was to be held officially during the 4th Thursday in November.
And ever since that time, the holiday has been observed and celebrated on that day. During the early Thanksgiving celebrations, there was harvest merriment which never includes what are staples in current times like the ubiquitous turkey, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce. It’s really possible that wild fowl such as duck and turkey were served, but turkey didn’t hold the cherished place as it holds today.
Desserts like cakes and pies were most likely never included due to a lack of sugar and of course, there weren’t ovens in which to bake them, anyway. There could have been some seasonal veggies like squash included in the revelry, but also side dishes also play a big part in the festivities.
Nevertheless, all those traditional foods and dishes served on Thanksgiving Day already evolved and changed over a hundred years of history. More often, the turkey is the only thing in common with the modern Thanksgiving celebrations have with the harvest feasts celebrated by the Pilgrims. Some side dishes such as stuffing and green bean casserole have been the byproducts of the affluence of food supplies and of the modern times.
And not to forget the favorite desserts of all time like the pumpkin pie were not around from the harvest feasts during World War II due to scarcity of sugar. Consequently, the foremost Thanksgiving celebrations were celebrated to rejoice in the survival of the Pilgrims, and of course, of the plentiful harvest—is a fact that we need to remember each year.

What Is Acne And Where Does It Come From? by George Hutton
There are no shortage of conditions which can have a dramatic effect on your well being and happiness. From simple, one or two day ailments to life long and debilitating maladies, there's plenty to choose from. There is one, however, that few people escape from. Some have it worse than others, and some have it much longer than others. I'm talking, of course, about acne.
What exactly is the cause of acne? In your skin, there are these things called pilosebaceous units, which are like little self contained machines that grow hair, and regulate your skin moisture. If, for whatever reason, something goes haywire inside this little machine, of which you have millions, you can get a pimple.
The pilosebaceous unit contains a few components. The first is called the hair follicle, and is where the hair on your skin grows. The hair follicles don't necessarily have hair growing in each one, but they're still there. Think of the hair follicle as where the root of your hair goes into your skin. Sort of similar to a small shaft, or a minuscule well.
Now, off to the sides of this shaft, or well, are some glands, called sebaceous glands which produce a kind of oil, called sebum. The reason your body makes this oil is to keep your skin healthy. This of course, is a requirement, as if it didn't happen, your skin would dry out and you would incur many different kinds of health problems. The glands produce the oil, which fills out onto your skin. This small well, or pore, is shared by both the hair follicle and the gland that produces the oil. During the time when everything is humming right along, there's no problem.
The problems happen when the top of the hair follicle becomes plugged for some reason. And medical science hasn't come to a definitive reason why this happens. But when the top becomes plugged, the sebum is still being produced, and it has nowhere to go. The pressure in the closed of pore builds, which makes a pimple. One idea is that when you go through puberty, your glands make a lot more oil that normal, and can cause your pores to clog, which causes the most acne. It also explains why we can have really oily skin during puberty.
There have been several factors which have been identified as possible causes for the hole getting plugged up. Puberty, diet, and stress. and of course, dirty skin, are believed to be the four most common. Most over the counter remedies for acne only address the surface conditions of the skin, and not the underlying reasons behind the cause. Only when you understand the underlying reasons can you effectively get rid of your acne for good.

The Quickest Way To Lose Weight by Jett Bellen
Feel Good and Control your Weight!
"How can I lose weight? What's the fastest way to lose weight? I want to be thinner and get rid of this fat and ugly feeling I have now." - does this sound familiar? People usually ask these questions when they feel that they are beginning to gain more weight and they feel heavier and uglier by each passing day.
People, who weigh more than they should, usually feel tired and older because of the excess tissues that lead to body fats which slow down body regulation. You will feel confident, look good, and become healthier the moment that you start losing fat. Positive outlook in life could also be benefited when one feels good about themselves.
So, what's the quickest way to lose weight?
1. DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST. People misunderstand the word "diet" as to not eating or skipping meals. Webster defines diet as a special or limited selection of food and drink, chosen or prescribed to promote health or a gain or loss of weight -meaning to say that we have to carefully select the food that we intake and eat only the amount needed by the body. When you skip breakfast, blood sugar drops below the normal levels and you will experience cravings, plus a drop in energy.
2. HAVE A BALANCED PROTEIN - BASED BREAKFAST. Do not just eat breakfast. You must have a balanced protein-based breakfast because such meal can provide our bodies with all the vital nutrients and energy without increasing blood sugar and insulin. These help our bodies avoid depending on carbohydrates during the day. Because of this, our appetite stays under control and cravings for fats and sweets diminish.
3. DRINK LOTS OF WATER. You must make sure that your body is fully hydrated by drinking 8-10 medium sized glasses of water each day .Consume more than enough water to cleanse and detoxify your inner body. And with adequate water intake, your body will be able to metabolize fat more effectively. Water can nourish our body organs and muscles as well as keep our bodies functioning well. Another tip is to drink at least a glass of water 10-15 minutes before your meal so that you will feel fuller and thus result into taking less food.
4. EXERCISE. There's still no better way to lose weight than to exercise. The quickest way to lose weight is to exercise on a daily basis. You must find the proper exercise for your body (consult doctors and fitness experts about this) and develop a committed habit. Start with basic minimal routines and eventually proceed to work outs that will enhance muscle stability.

Perhaps Your Acne Is Really Rosacea by Nick Messe
Skin problems at any age can be disruptive to your life by causing feelings of embarrassment about your looks, and creating low self-esteem and self-confidence. Skin problems like acne can occur in adulthood, as well as in teenage years. A condition that looks similar to acne, causing pimple-like bumps, red skin, and dryness is called rosacea. Many people have never heard of it, but there are millions of Americans that have some form of rosacea and don't even know it.
Because it's appearance resembles mild acne or a skin breakout, most people assume that it is. What exactly is rosacea? Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder that occurs primarily on the face. There are flare-ups, then remissions, but the cycle tends to repeat, and it can get worse over time with increasing redness and visible blood vessels on the skin. If it isn't treated, bumps or pimples can develop, and the condition can become severe causing swollen skin tissue, particularly on the nose.
Affecting mostly the face, rosacea can appear on the cheeks, chin, forehead or nose. It can affect the eye area causing red skin, swelling and irritation around and in the eyes. Although not as common, it can also appear on the neck, scalp, ears, and even the chest. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown, although suspected contributors are emotional stress, excess sun exposure, wind, spicy foods, alcohol, heavy exercise, hot baths, hot beverages, and some skin products.
Although these are some suspected triggers for rosacea, circumstances vary for everyone. Rosacea affects more people with fair skin, and more women than men, although symptoms for men tend to be worse. It is not contagious, nor does it cause fine lines, wrinkles or age spots.
Watch for persistent redness, the most common signal of rosacea is persistent red skin, and sometimes small red bumps, solid or pus-filled. There are usually no blackheads present. Frequent blushing or flushing of skin can be an early sign of rosacea with mall blood vessels starting to show on the red skin. Additional symptoms that may occur is skin dryness with rough texture, raised red patches, and swelling of the facial tissue.
There might be burning, stinging or itching sensations, thickening of the skin, or eye irritation causing styes, redness, and swelling of the eyes or eyelids. There is no known cure for rosacea, but it can be treated and improved. First, it is important to practice good skin care habits and keep skin clean. Use mild skin cleansers that are hypo-allergenic and non-abrasive to skin.
Don't rub, scrub or aggressively wash your face but use your hands instead of a washcloth. Use lukewarm water, not hot water and wait ten minutes after washing your face before applying any other product. Try mild moisturizers that are hypo-allergenic, with absolutely no alcohol or witch hazel. Medications for rosacea are topical antibiotics such as metronidazole or azelaic acid creams, or ingested antibiotics such as tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, doxycycline.

The Easy Way To Lose Weight by George Hutton
More and more people today are overweight. More than sixty percent of adults, according to recent studies done by the government, are overweight or clinically obese. And it's not like we have no idea why we are this way. The reasons are simple. We eat too much, and exercise too little. And judging by the looks of things, it doesn't seem to be getting any getter.
It appears as though this would be an easy thing to remedy. After all, it's previous obvious what the cause is, as well as the solution. We are overweight because we eat too much, and exercise too little. If the solution to our problems is so clear, why do we consistently get fatter and fatter? If the solution is so blatantly obvious to all of us, why aren't we all super models?
Well, the answer is willpower. It's one thing to live on a farm where you have to put in ten hours a day of solid work, and the food you eat everyday is fresh, home cooked, and healthy. Unfortunately, most of us don't live on farms, and most of us don't eat home cooked meals every day. Most people live in an urban environment, and don't expend much physical energy at our jobs. Then we come home to fast food, or microwaved food, or maybe a pizza. And we top it all off with a bowl of ice cream in front of our flat screen TV.
It can be much more difficult that it sounds to start a solid exercise and diet program. One of the biggest problems is that we are accustomed to getting everything on demand. Instant downloads, overnight deliveries, in by 7, out by 5 dry cleaning. It's no wonder that when we attempt to lose weight, we want to lose fifty pounds in a week.
Unfortunately, the human body just doesn't change that quickly. Changing the shape and appearance of your body is a long, slow process, despite what the advertisers will tell you. It takes a while to pack on the pounds, and it's going to take a while to burn them off. So what's the best way to get started?
More and more people are starting to discover that walking is the best exercise around. Special equipment, gym memberships, expensive clothes, none of these are necessary. And you can do it anytime, day or night. Walking to start the day is loved by many, as well as a fantastic way to wind it down. Whatever your physical condition is, there's a pretty good chance you can find the time and energy to go for a short walk every day. And once you make it a habit, you'll be amazed at how well your body responds.

Walking Is A Splendid Way To Lose Weight by George Hutton
Many people today are overweight. Over sixty percent of people, according to a recent government study, are obese. One in four children are expected to have a problem with obesity in their childhoods. There's no nice way to put it, most adults today are fat. So what do we do about it? Well, you're in luck, because I'd like to share some easy ideas for weight loss with you.
If you head down to your local bookshop, you won't have any trouble finding hundreds, if not thousands, of titles on weight loss. Likely an entire section. Maybe hundreds of different books that promise quick and easy weight loss using all kind of methods you've likely never heard of. I even saw one book that recommended eating the most spicy food you can stand, as it would somehow boost your metabolism. No thanks.
Despite how much we wish it weren't true, there really are only two realistic ways to lose weight. Diet, and exercise. Yes, the two things you hate the most. Most of us would love nothing more than to sit around and be lazy while eating ice cream and pizza all day. I know I would. Maybe that's why we're so fat. But what do we do about it? Stop eating junk food completely? Start an aggressive marathon training program?
Fortunately, that's not necessary. Just like the turtle that beat the rabbit, slow and steady will win the race every time. It took quite a while to gain weight, so it's going to take a while to lose it. So relax, and take your time. While there are plenty of ways to diet, and different food eating programs, I'd like to talk about a great way to easily incorporate exercise into your daily life.
Walking. That's right, one foot in front of the other. Walking is a great, simple, and natural method to gradually and consistently lose weight. It doesn't require any special equipment, you don't need to go anyplace special, and you probably are already pretty good at it. Special footwear is not even required, although there are plenty to buy if you want. One of the great things about walking for weight loss is that you don't really need to even think about it. You can go by yourself, with a pet, or a radio or MP3 player. Not only is a nice slow walk a great way to start the day off, but it's also a fantastic way to wind one down.
If you want to do something that is easy and will consistently deliver a lifetime of health and happiness, then try walking. You've nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Why not get started today/

Discover Why You Should Know About An Acid Reflux Cure by Rudy Silva
When you have acid reflux, you will always want an acid reflux cure right away. There are things you should consider when you prepare your meals or are at the table ready for you dinner.
There is a known bad effect of eating a high fiber diet. Fiber is a necessity for good health. But, an excess is not good. It is recommended that you get 30 to 40 gm per day. And, as you age this becomes more important, since high fiber diets help remove your excess cholesterol in the colon and keep your bowel movements normal.
In addition, fiber helps to remove toxins from your colon and provides food for the good bacterial. Despite the good news about fiber, acid reflux, heartburn and high fiber diets do not mix well.
So if you know you are prone to acid reflux, reduce your consumption of fiber for a while. There are many fiber foods. Fiber comes from grains, fruits, and vegetables. Now certain produce has more fiber than others.
Eating the right kinds of food in the right quantity is part of an acid reflux cure. Now here is the scoop on fiber.
What you are not told about fiber is that fiber can bind with certain nutrients and minerals and they get tied up in your stools before they get absorbed into your blood stream. This condition can occur when your stomach acid gets weak. And the weaker it gets, higher values of pH - 3.5, 4, 5, and 6 - the more nutrients you lose to stool formation.
So you can see that an acid reflux cure that says reduce fiber can help minimize heartburn, since the weaker you stomach acid gets the more you are susceptible to acid reflux.
There are two situations where your stomach acid gets weak. First, as you age, your ability to create and release HCl acid from your stomach walls decreases. Second, at any age, if you take any type of drug to decreased your stomach acid strength in an effort to reduce acid reflux or heartburn damage to your esophagus. Both these condition in combination with a high fiber diet lead to a more minerals tied up in chyme or stools. A deficiency in any nutrient, vitamin, or mineral can lead to malnutrition or disease.
Here’s how you lose the minerals. Phytate, a chemical found in grains, cereal and seeds, and fiber easily combine with nutrients and minerals. This Phytate complex of fiber, and minerals - calcium, manganese, iron, copper, nickel, or zinc - are easily absorbed, when your stomach acid has a natural pH value of 1 - 3.
As your stomach acid weakens and the pH rises to 4, 5, 6, and even 7, the Phytate complex become more insoluble and not absorbable. To make matters worse, if you have plenty of calcium and magnesium in this complex, it will tie up other mineral and make them insoluble.
There is one other condition that occurs with weaken stomach acid. Digestion of protein is decrease leaving more undigested protein to move into the colon. It is this undigested protein and constipation that can lead to colon cancer, especially if the protein has been cured with nitrites.
In an effort to maintain an acid reflux cure, here’s how to avoid becoming mineral deficient and at the same time reduce the effects of heartburn or acid reflux. Keep your diet high in fiber by eating raw fruits and vegetable.
If you have acid reflux or heartburn, avoid using acid neutralizers such as Tums, Rolaids, and even tagament. Avoid, also, taking acid blocking drugs such as Prilosec. These drugs play with your acid levels and make you more susceptible to mineral loss. These tips will help you to create an acid reflux cure that will last a life time.

3 Steps To Quick Hemorrhoid Relief by Angela Schultz
Hemorrhoids usually present an itching, rectal pain and bleeding symptoms. It is a difficult and uncomfortable health problem, especially for those who spend most of their days in a sitting position. Although generally not a serious health problem, hemorrhoids often come with a pain that can be quite unbearable and frustrating. The situation is made even worse by that fact that it can be quite difficult to find an effective relief from hemorrhoids, as most ointments just give quick hemorrhoids relief but without any lasting effect.
Hemorrhoids are vascular structures in the anal canal that aid in stool control. When these structures become inflamed, they develop into an acute disease known as, “piles”. There are two kinds of hemorrhoids - the external hemorrhoid and internal hemorrhoid. External hemorrhoids are felt as bulges in the anus. They can be painful and the accompanying swelling can cause irritation. When blood clots in external hemorrhoids, it can lead to thrombosis and will need medical attention.
In contrast, and as the name implies, internal hemorrhoids occur inside the rectum. Generally, they are not painful and most people are unaware that they have them. Left untreated, bleeding internal hemorrhoids can lead to prolapsed and strangulated hemorrhoids.
Common symptoms of hemorrhoids include itching, irritation, a burning feeling, and bleeding. Although, by itself, hemorrhoids rarely lead to major medical conditions, it still pays to visit a doctor to relieve any discomfort that you might be experiencing. You might also want to try some of these quick hemorrhoid relief methods to stop your condition from worsening.
One quick hemorrhoid relief method is natural topical medicine which you can buy off-the-shelf, or you can prepare on your own. If you prefer the latter, you can try witch hazel and aloe vera. Witch hazel is a medicinal plant whose extracts help with skin cuts, burns, and relief of pain. The extracts of aloe vera, on the other hand, can be made into a gel or a tonic and then applied to the affected area to reduce inflammation as well as lessen the itching and the pain. Keep in mind, however that, although topical medicines can provide instant relief, there is a possibility of a recurrence of your situation after two to three days.
Another quick hemorrhoid relief method is to get a filled ice bag and apply it on the affected area for about fifteen minutes per day. In order to be more effective, you can alternate this with a sitz bath. By doing so, you are allowing the sitz bath to dilate the veins and allow the blood to flow more freely with the ice pack constricting the veins afterwards in order to stimulate the veins.
Taking vitamin E is also one quick hemorrhoid relief method. In hemorrhoid cases, however, vitamin E is not taken orally. The content of the vitamin E capsule is then applied directly to the affected area. For best results, you should do this at least twice a day.
Of course, you should also make it a habit to drink plenty of water as well as eat meat less. You have to remember that meat does not contain fibers and could contribute more to painful bowel movement.

What is Asbestosis and What Causes It? by Wendy Moyer
Asbestos is found in various sizes and shapes around the world. It is one of the naturally occurring silica compounds. Although it isn't the same as the silica you'll find as components of computer chips and window glass, it is similar.
The three most common types of asbestos are white asbestos (chrysotile), brown asbestos (armosite) and blue asbestos (corcidolite). All three of these silica have been associated with lung diseases - both non-cancerous as well as cancerous.
What is Asbestos Used For?
Asbestos had been a very popular fire retardant and building insulation material for many years. Although it has fallen out of favor because of the diseases that it causes it can still be found in the furnaces, pipes, roof shingles, coating materials, millboard, floor tiles, and textured paints in older homes.
What is Asbestosis?
When people are exposed to asbestos and inhale it three different types of lung diseases can develop: 1) asbestosis; 2) lung cancer; and 3) disease of the pleura - the lining of the lung.
Asbestosis is the process that happens as lung tissue is scarred by the jagged edges of asbestos fibers. Before a doctor determines that a patient has pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring) due to asbestos, many other diseases that could also cause lung scarring have to be eliminated.
Patients with specific x-ray or biopsy results also have to have had a past history of asbestos exposure in their history before a physician would consider diagnosing their disease as asbestosis.
It also appears that smoking increases the rate of progression of the disease. This may be because smoking could prevent the inhaled fibers from being efficiently eliminated from the airways.
What are the Symptoms of Asbestosis?
Clinical symptoms of asbestosis often include a cough along with a shortness of breath that has slowly progressed over time. As the disease advances breathlessness increases. If a person is a smoker, then sputum (coughing up mucus) and wheezing are also quite common symptoms.
Most instances of asbestosis become evident between twenty to forty years after a person's initial exposure to asbestos. However, if workers had been exposed to very high concentrations of asbestos fibers then their symptoms could develop in as little as ten years.
Other indications of asbestosis include cyanosis, which is a blue tinge on the fingers; abnormal sounding lungs; clubbing, which change the shapes of the toes and fingers; and cor pulmonale, which is a failure on the right side of a person's heart.

Registered Medical Assistants Get Hired by Nick Messe
Technological advancements in modern medicine have fostered a need for new types of medical care. These developments have enabled people to live longer. Yet as they age, unexpected symptoms can appear that require the medical community to pay closer attention than ever before. Physicians are aware that in order to treat ailments, sicknesses, and diseases, they need quality help.
Because of the high demand for health maintenance, people are now getting medical assistant training through business education as well as computer training schools. Getting involved with the technical aspect of medicine while simultaneously providing hands on care can provide financial stability, not to mention a feeling of satisfaction from helping others achieve wellness.
There are many different job opportunities in this field, as well as many diverse areas of patient care. These include Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, depression, gastrointestinal disorders, arthritis, heart disease, and a list of other problems that can hinder quality of life.
A career in medical assistance can be both challenging and rewarding, and as the aging population continues to grow, the demand for positions in the field also increase. Prospective caregivers can now get the training they need to be successful in the field of medical care. A number of facilities are qualified to educate and certify those who are ready to take a step forward and let the healing begin.
Medical assistant training involves attending a post-secondary education program. Whether it is a vocational school or community college, make sure that the institution is accredited. Aside from the health aspect, school coursework will include computer training and fundamental business training as well. After getting registered, a number of job opportunities will be available at doctors' offices and hospitals, both public and private.
In the public domain, hospital RMA's will be dealing with a list of duties, including emergency room processing, checking for vitals such as blood pressure and body temperature, applying or administering medication, prescription instructions, and the release of patients as well. The technical side involves data entry concerning patients, calibrating test equipment, and also to make sure that things are running smoothly.
In the private sector, RMA job duties become a bit more detailed and personal. Multitasking is part of the daily routine, which may entail receptionist duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, bookkeeping, and handling insurance forms. Taking the vitals of each patient is standard, as well as inquiring about the patient's medical history.
In addition, keeping track of all incoming and outgoing information is the RMA's responsibility. Some RMA's will administer injections and even help physicians with examining patients. In larger private practices, the RMA may handle most, if not all of the legwork to maintain a functioning facility. RMA employment is on the rise. Now is the time to get involved by helping out in a way that brings satisfaction to all parties involved.

Irritable Bowel Symptoms and 3 Fast, Natural Treatments by Angela Schultz
Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS, is a functional bowel movement disorder typified by persistent abdominal aches, bloating, and discomfort of bowel movements. The underlying cause of irritable bowel syndrome is relatively unknown. However, a number of hypotheses have been postulated by scientists with the most common being that IBS is caused by a disorder in the interaction of the brain and the digestive tract, alongside possible abnormalities with the gastrointestinal system as well as the immune system.
Irritable bowel syndrome, if left untreated, may develop into severe gastrointestinal infections. If contracted at a young age, the person is sure to suffer from persistent fevers, anxiety, or even depression.
According to studies by medical experts, the usual irritable bowel symptoms of abdominal pains and discomfort are, oftentimes, soon followed by recurrent constipation or diarrhea. Other irritable bowel symptoms could include the need to move bowels more frequently oftentimes accompanied by tenesmus, the ineffective and painful straining during bowel movement.
People suffering from irritable bowel symptoms usually also suffer from exasperation of the esophagus due to the acid building up in the stomach, chronic fatigue disorders, head and backaches, and even initial signs of psychiatric symptoms, such as anxieties and depressions. Several health conditions such as fructose malabsorption, gastric infections, parasitic infections in the digestive system, and more inflammatory bowel infections, may also occur to a person suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.
The Irritable Bowel Syndrome, by itself, is very rarely a serious disorder. However, its underlying symptoms and side effects, including chronic pain, fatigue, and sugar deficiencies as well as mood swings and sleep disturbances, can increase medical costs as well as put undue stress on the patient causing a disruption in his daily activities.
Even though there is no approved solid medical management for irritable bowel syndrome, especially since there is no one treatment method that can work for everyone, there is a wide variety of treatment and solutions that relieve the symptoms brought by the disorder. These treatment methods include diet modification, bile acid binding medications, stimulant laxatives for those suffering from constipation, and biofeedback training.
For those who would want to try alternative treatment methods, one of the most beneficial is “probiotics”, commonly present in yogurt. A number of studies have shown that probiotics, especially the Bifidobacterium Infantis strain, has been successful in controlling bloating as well as passing of gas.
Peppermint oil is another herbal remedy that is generally used to mitigate symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It is known to reduce abdominal pain and bloating by blocking the movement of calcium into the intestinal muscles and relaxing muscular tension and extreme contraction. It also eliminates excess gas present in the gastrointestinal tract.
Ginger also alleviates symptoms since it promotes proper digestion and treats disorders in the stomach. It also reduces nausea and subsequent inflammation of the visceral organs.
Indian gooseberry can provide natural treatment for irritable bowel symptoms as it is the richest natural source of Vitamin C. It inhibits food indigestion and controls the acidity level of the gastrointestinal tract and at the same time acts as a natural supplement against hyperacidity and gastric disorders.

Hemorrhoid Cures: What Works And What Doesn't? by Angela Schultz
What would you do to ease the pain and embarrassment that you are experiencing if you are suffering from hemorrhoids? As the old saying goes, “prevention is better than cure”, so definitely you will do everything to find its causes and best hemorrhoid cures that you could lay your hands on.
Though the root cause of hemorrhoids vary from one person to the next, there are a lot of measures we can follow to relieve the pain and discomfort of hemorrhoid brings, whether it is a natural treatment or with the use of medical procedures.
Today, where there are a lot of innovations in the medical profession, treatments such as over-the-counter hemorrhoid creams and ointments are among the most popular hemorrhoid cures. These creams ease the discomfort but may not necessarily have the lasting solution one is looking for as it just relieves the pain for a few hours or a day. In addition, there have been cases where these creams have given rise to a number of side effects particularly burning and itching sensation especially if the one who is using this product is highly sensitive and has an allergic reaction to strong chemical constituent of the cream.
Aside from ointments, another well-known "hemorrhoid cure" is the medicated wipe. It is the same thing that applies with suppositories as this is applied inside the rectum. Again, these supposed hemorrhoid cures do not really provide a long-term cure but are just temporary solutions.
When people think that it’s a hopeless case to find the best remedy for hemorrhoids, they then opt for operations. However, people should understand that undergoing an operational procedure is truly expensive and is not a 100 percent guarantee that the hemorrhoids will not come back. There is still a probability that it will return a few years after the operation.
So if operations are highly expensive and all these medical treatments is not a full guarantee of hemorrhoid cures, are there alternative methods or measures that people can do to at least ease the symptoms? Well, the answer is yes! With all the advancement in medical technology, the natural way is still popular for many people who prefer natural treatment.
Natural treatments are, most often than not, sought after by hemorrhoid sufferers. Not only because it is less expensive, but because they also work fast and give relief to the person in pain as well. Simple things like putting ice pack on the affected area will help in numbing the pain and minimize the hemorrhoid as the coldness will keep it from bleeding. Also, olive oils, witch hazel and aloe vera are natural therapeutic products that can help alleviate hemorrhoids by helping to reduce swelling.
Olive oil and aloe vera can be ingested to help ensure smooth bowel movement as well as applied to the affected area, providing relief from pain as well as the itching and burning sensation.
Whatever method or measure you opt to do, it is very important to have and maintain a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. By making sure that you eat only food types that have high fiber content like fruits and vegetables, high carbohydrates, rich protein, and less sugar and fat, you are actually ensuring a smooth digestion as well as excretion system.
These tips are a small part of a wider variety of natural hemorrhoid cures available to hemorrhoid sufferers.

3 Fast Ways To Stop Bleeding Hemorrhoid by Angela Schultz
Hemorrhoids, by medical definition, are masses or lumps of tissue that exist within the anal canal and the lower rectum. These tissue masses contain blood vessels and supporting muscular fibers, and are most commonly found at the last five centimeters of the alimentary canal leading to the anus.
It is a common misconception that having hemorrhoids are abnormal. In truth, it is present in everyone and could only pose a threat when the tissues concerned have become swollen and infected thus, obstructing the path where the stool passes. This creates bleeding hemorrhoid which is uncomfortable, and also dangerous as it increases the risk of necrosis within the anal canal.
If you find yourself having to deal with pathological hemorrhoids that are bleeding profusely, first thing that you must do is go directly to a physician and immediately ask for medical attention. Bleeding hemorrhoid should be stopped immediately as it could lead to further complications.
Bleeding hemorrhoid usually occurs when there is a lot of pressure being applied on the walls of the anal canal during bowel movement. The pressure could cause the hemorrhoids to wear out and become weak, inducing breakage of the tissue and the subsequent bleeding. It will then trigger blood to gush out of the tissues each time the bowels are being moved which can be visible on the feces as bloody residues.
There are two ways by which hemorrhoid can be treated - treating the wound existing in the anal walls, and stopping the blood from flowing and bleeding by reducing the pressure exerted by bowel movements. Bleeding hemorrhoids can also be treated using natural ways as well as with the help of modern medicine.
One of the recommended natural treatment methods in controlling bleeding hemorrhoid is by increasing fiber as well as fluid intake. Fiber and enough fluid promote good digestion and bowel movement by loosening stool and making it pass more easily through the anal canal. Ease of passage means less pressure on the infected hemorrhoids, thus preventing further bleeding and wound formation.
Apple cider vinegar has also been reported to be a good cure for wounds and infections. For an even faster effect, you can try applying directly to the area concerned.
The purported health benefits of Cayenne pepper also helps in controlling bleeding hemorrhoid and stops further infection from occurring, just by drinking a glass of water with cayenne pepper on a daily basis. How does this happen? It is believed that cayenne pepper is effective in relieving inflamed veins and arteries, and hemorrhoids being such, would respond well to this pepper.
For those suffering from severe constipation, physicians recommend the use of laxatives as it helps ease the pressure that builds up during bowel movements. Fecal matter is then expunged without exerting damaging pressure on the walls of the canal where infected hemorrhoids are present. Taking up laxative supplements and having a diet rich in fiber can alleviate constipated bowel movement altogether, thus significantly stopping bleeding hemorrhoid.

Today's Fillings Are Practically Invisible by Nick Messe
New technology has improved the way dentists repair our teeth. More than 100 years ago amalgam silver fillings were invented and are still in use today. Lately, issues have arisen as to the safety of this type of cavity repair.
The main problem with an amalgam filling is that it contains mercury which may cause illness, birth defects and mental disorders. Scientists are not sure how much mercury is seeped into the body from these types of fillings. Amalgam fillings enlarge with time causing the tooth to crack making tooth repair and filling restoration needed. However, those who back using amalgam claim the product is inexpensive and an easy cavity repair method.
Bonded ceramic composite resin is a new material that many dentists are using. This type of cavity repair blends with your teeth, sealing them against further decay and may prevent sensitivity to hot and cold against your cavity. Many people who have had amalgam fillings are replacing them with ceramic composite. These types of fillings improve the look of your smile and form a seal to lessen the chances of leakage which can occur with amalgam fillings.
Today's highly advanced computers are an important tool in utilizing zirconium oxide. The computer guides a lathe that precisely cuts the block of zirconium oxide so that it may be used in dentistry. Being able to use this material has advanced dentistry by being able to restore and replace teeth. This material resists breakage and can be used with most dental corrections needed.
Prior to the use of computerized equipment in dentistry zirconium oxide was not used, because the current dental procedures used to form this material were not available. With the advanced technology of modern computerized equipment utilizing this material not only became possible but affordable. A combination of metal and porcelain is generally used for crowns and bridges. The request for ceramic repair is becoming greater, due to a larger demand for natural looking correction. The result is that manufacturers are driven to create more ceramic options.
Another area in dentistry that has experienced advancement is sedation. Many people experience fear so powerful that they are unable to have the dental treatment that they need. Today those that have this fear are able to be treated with the use of sedation. This method is used to relax the person allowing them to be calm by using sedatives. There are different ways to distribute sedation such as an IV drip, nitrous oxide and oral sedation.
Oral sedation is most often used for dental appointments. Many patients do not recall their procedure, however the patient is conscious enough to receive direction during their procedure. An anesthetic is used as well to prevent pain that may occur in the teeth and gums. This is typically done after you have been sedated. Be sure to have someone with you when opting for this type of dental procedure. You need to be able to get home safely.

Super Sea Veg Asks You To Fall Clean Your Medicine Cabinets! by Timmy Vic
Is your medicine cabinet like that of the typical American? Is it cluttered with all sorts of stuff that you bought thinking that it would help you… but ended up realizing it just made you feel worse?
Well, I know it's typical for people to conduct "spring cleaning", but I'm going to suggest that you avail yourself of a little "fall cleaning", too. And I want you to start by going to your medicine cabinet and pitching all those multivitamins you've been taking.
Okay – I can hear you: "Scott! Those multivitamins keep me healthy! Why would I get rid of them?"
All I can say is: There are predicted to be 1.5 million new cases of cancer this year… and a third of them will prove fatal, many thanks to those multivitamins. In the seventy or so years that these high potency U.S.P.s [United States Pharmacopiea], so-called vitamins have been on the market, every major degenerative disease increased in the people taking them. This is a fact. Many people, especially women, just "fell better knowing I'm taking them," but is the placebo effect worth it, when the science shows these compounds are toxic, and cause breast density, a known precursor to breast cancer?
Surprised? Many people are. See, the problem is that multivitamins aren't as healthy as you and I have been led to believe. [And I used to believe they were, too… that was before becoming a Super Sea Veg health evangelist.] They are actually synthetic products made in a laboratory and have no basis in actual food sources. Basically, they're manmade highly acidic, isolated chemical compounds that we've been encouraged to ingest. Once they are inside of us, they wreak all sorts of havoc… including making us more apt to get cancer, and increase our overall chances of mortality, by 18%. Is that why we take them? The best evil, is that which comes in the name of good, in the name of health, but instead kills. Evil is simply "live" spelled backwards, anti-live. Don't fall for that lie anymore. Use your common sense. Man cannot create organic nutrition in his laboratory. Never did, never will. Take Super Sea Veg as your Multi-nutritional, its 100% vegetable, and throw those impostors in the garbage.
The studies linking multivitamins and cancer are out there. However, they aren't well-marketed because of political reasons. But as the president of Super Sea Veg and someone who dropped the multivitamin habit in favor of a dietary food supplement that comes from 12 edible sea plants, I know that Super Sea Veg is the answer, and so do all my converts.
What are you waiting for? Start that fall cleaning today and pitch those cancer-causing products that are taking up space. After all, Super Sea Veg is the UNvitamin, the real thing!

Some Awesome Sea Veggy Tails Testimonials by Timmy Vic
Getting testimonials from satisfied Farmasea customers is always a joy… and hearing from the pet owners who have been giving their dogs and cats Sea Veggy Tails is especially delightful.
It's such a wonderful experience to have someone tell us what Larry from Arizona did: "My black Lab is jumping around as if he was a puppy again." [Anyone who has been around Labs knows that Larry better get some Frisbees, balls and other toys ready because it sounds like his re-energized pooch is going to be putting him through his paces!]
To us, this shows how exciting having a healthy dog is for both the pets and their owners. Not only will Larry's dog get tons of activity [and that will keep obesity, a problem in aging dogs, at bay], but Larry is likely to get his fair share of exercise keeping up! It's definitely a win-win situation, thanks to Sea Veggy Tails.
And because we spent a great deal of time making sure our blend was tasty to canine and feline palates, we're always heartened to hear that even picky eaters love indulging in Sea Veggy Tails.
Take this testimonial from Jenny, also an Arizonan: "My dog usually eats around the other supplements I have given her, but now she eats it all up, and licks the bowl!"
Of course, Mike in Boston had better keep his pooch's Sea Veggy Tails under lock and key: "My dog got into the bag and ate the whole thing." [Note: Don't allow your pet to do this; while it won't harm him or her, it isn't the best use of our nutritional food supplement which is meant to be delivered over a period of days, not in one sitting!]
After you discover the wonders of Sea Veggy Tails, I want you to write to us, too. Who knows? We may just print your testimonial!

Insomnia: Exhausted and Still Can't Sleep? by Mike Bundrant
It seems paradoxical, but it’s true. It is possible to be utterly exhausted, yet unable to sleep. Such is the case with millions around the world. An estimated 60 million Americans suffer from insomnia each year (npr.org). “Tired and wired” is a common way these unfortunate insomniacs refer to themselves.
The side effects of insomnia are unstable moods, mental fog, anxiety and depression as well as a greater tendency toward more serious illness such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Amazingly, the dangers of insomnia can begin after just one sleepless night. (Sleep and Neuroimaging Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley).
The Cause of Insomnia
How does the body end up in such a predicament? As with every other physiological function, it begins in the brain. Medical researchers have identified via MRI studies a network in the brain, the Default Mode Network, which is responsible for the inner commotion that prevents the mind and body from settling into natural sleep. This neurological network has been scientifically correlated (Block, Ho, and Nakamura, 2009) to what Stanley H. Block, MD refers to as the Identity System (I-system). It is this part of our brain that is responsible for creating our individual perception of separateness from other people and the environment.
When the I-system is overactive, our brain takes this separateness to an extreme, restricting our awareness to those aspects that lead to mental and emotional isolation: worry, fear, conflict, anger, and all manner of emotional ills. The I-system also leads to a cluttered mind that spins endlessly on our to-do lists, chronically mulls over problems, dreams of solutions and essentially holds our body hostage in a never-ending spiral of activity and bodily tensions. Sleep is impossible under these circumstances.
The Bridge to Sleep
Sleep does come naturally when the I-System is at rest. The key, according to Dr. Block, for most modern day, urbanized and stressed out people is to learn to quiet this part of the brain. The only methodology proven to do so is Mind-Body Bridging. Clinically proven through university sponsored research (Salt Lake City VA/University of Utah/clinicaltrials.gov), Mind-Body Bridging helps 90% of insomniacs to sleep, an unprecedented success rate among sleep studies.
Beyond Restful Sleep
A two-month follow up study of participants also showed decreased symptoms of depression and higher scores on a quality of life scale, suggesting that Mind-Body Bridging goes beyond restoring sleep, but also aids in healing other physical and emotional elements.
Where is all this headed? “We’ll see,” said Dr. Block. “Further research is scheduled and more analysis is warranted. The preliminary results of our insomnia research are very exciting. It’s nice to put a medication free, supplement free, natural sleep remedy on the map that is actually backed by independent scientific research.”

3 Incredible Benefits Of Ionized Alkaline Water by Terrence McGill
There’s a big buzz in the health and wellness industry about a very special type of water filter. This filter not only rids your tap water of harmful toxins, too much chlorine and chemicals, but it also does an amazing transformational number on your tap water. It turns regular old water into ionized alkaline water. The usual thoughts most people get after that statement are “what is ionized alkaline water? And what’s so special about it?” I am glad you asked. Below you will find 3 amazing benefits of this newly transformed water.
1) More Hydrating Than Regular Water
The process of ionization in a water ionizer consists of charging the water electrically as it is being filtered. This charge “ionizes” the water molecules and gives them each an extra electron. The ionization process also changes the shape and size of the water molecule clusters. They become more compact and hexagonal in shape. This new configuration gives the newly enhanced water molecules the ability to more easily penetrate the body’s tissues. This ability makes alkaline water up to six times more hydrating than regular bottled or tap water.
2) Helps Reduce Hypertension
One of the characteristics of the condition of hypertension or high blood pressure is that not enough oxygen is received by the body‘s organs and tissues. This can cause long term damage to such organs. Having more oxygen than carbon dioxide in the blood lowers the pH of the blood as well as the overall blood pressure. The newly structured water molecules of Ionized water helps to increase your blood’s oxygen levels and also helps to lower the blood pressure and balancing your overall body’s pH level. Remember the structure aspect of the water molecules that make the water more hydrating? Well this same aspect also makes ionized alkaline water even more oxygenating.
3) Helps in Maintaining Appropriate Weight
Obesity is a huge problem in the United States, and it has been proven obvious that diets do not really work. In the case of Americans, the problem stems mainly from bad nutrition and overeating. The foods that most people consume in America are in essence highly acidic and sometimes toxic to the human body. These include high amounts of refined sugar, carbonated soft drinks, alcohol, and red meats. Don’t get me wrong now. I love a great steak like anyone else would. It’s not that the steak should be eliminated from your diet. It’s that the acidic foods of your diet should be balanced with non-acidic or “basic” foods. So why do acidic foods help increase your weight?
When the pH of a human body reaches high acidic levels, the body naturally protects the organs by creating fat around them. Toxins in the body also contribute to the weight gain. Many things are affected at the same time by drinking ionized alkaline water. Alkaline ionized water helps to maintain a lower body pH, making it easier to lose weight. The ionized alkaline water molecules also help to flush out toxins from your tissues in turn helping your organs function better, increasing your metabolism.
Now remember, not only do you have to be concerned with the type of foods you eat, you also have to be conscious of the acidity of these foods and also the amounts in terms of calories of how much you eat.

Look Forward To A Sculpted Body With Liposuction by Nick Messe
Everyone, no matter how perfect their body is, has one or two areas that are never quite as sculpted as they want them to be. There are always one or two areas that can't be shown off in the confident way that every other area can be shown off. Why should these areas stop someone from being the best, most confident person they can be? They shouldn't. Cosmetic surgery, particularly liposuction can tend to those confidence killing areas and make you feel more comfortable with yourself.
Liposuction, also called lipoplasty, is a form of plastic surgery that is designed to help people who are unable to get rid of excess fat simply by eating properly and exercising. This cosmetic surgery procedure sculpts the body and removes excess fat from a particular region of the body. Someone who is severely overweight would not be an ideal candidate for this plastic surgery.
Since the surgery is designed to remove pockets of fat from certain regions of the body, the ideal candidate is a normal weight, with certain trouble areas they would like to have sculpted. The ideal candidate also has firm skin, is in good physical health and has no medical conditions.
Males and females are both candidates for plastic surgery. Many areas of the body can benefit from cosmetic surgery, and liposuction most commonly focuses on the stomach area, buttocks, hips, thighs, and arms. People also elect to have liposuction to remove fat from their cheeks, chin, and neck.
When it comes to deciding which regions are going to be sculpted, you have a plethora of choices. The initial consultation is a great place to present your goals and discuss your idea of liposuction. During the initial consultation, your health will be evaluated by a plastic surgeon. The surgeon will also determine the condition of your skin and the parts of the body with excess fat pockets.
You will then get to discuss which cosmetic procedure best fits your need, whether it be liposuction or another form of cosmetic surgery. You will also discuss any risks or complications associated with plastic surgery at the time of your initial visit. This procedure is often performed in an office based facility or an outpatient center. Liposuction is also performed in hospitals.
Depending on your choice of technique and the parts of the body you receive treatment on, you will either be put completely to sleep with the use of general anesthesia or you will have local anesthesia administered, which only numbs the parts of the body that are being worked on.
Most commonly, during traditional liposuction surgery, the surgeon will insert a cannula, which is a tube that breaks through fat layers, breaks the fat layers up, and sucks them out. After surgery, when you're one step closer to that more confident you, you may experience some fluid drainage.
You will experience swelling, bruising, and some numbness, which is only temporary. You will be given an elastic garment to wear that will be used to stop swelling and you may experience a slight weight gain as your fluids fluctuate. Look for your slim, sculpted results to start shining through four to six weeks after surgery.

Patients Receive Better Care With Vendor Credentialing by Nick Messe
Hospitals are not your average, ordinary environment. They are places where the utmost care needs to be taken that people are in the right places and have a reason to be there. Being specialized areas for the care of people with health conditions, they are a far cry from a post office or a train station. For the most part, the people at hospitals are either doctors, nurses, and other health care staff, patients, family members of patients. Then there are other employees of the hospital such as cooks, office staff, and cleaning and maintenance personnel. In addition to this however, there are people coming to the hospital for vending or service purposes. They may be there to fill up soda machines, deliver food to cafeterias, stock medical supplies, or perform a service such as maintenance of vending or health care equipment.
The status of vendors is somewhat different than others present at a hospital because they often come and go quickly, are not known on a day to day basis by hospital staff, and are there for commercial purposes. This all being the case, vendors need a system by which they can be verified by the hospital. If they aren't, anyone could simply enter dressed as a vendor, whether or not they were, and sell whatever they wanted to hospital staff and even patients.
For this reason what is known as vendor credentialing has evolved. In the past, this simply meant that a vendor would have to check in with the purchasing department, sign in, and be given a floor pass to visit the area of the hospital they needed to visit. However, this has proven to be a fairly haphazard and unreliable method. For one thing, the purchasing department is often on a lower floor or some out of the way place, meaning that they have no way to monitor who comes in out, since hospitals have many entrances.
In addition, someone simply walking along with a floor pass may or may not even be checked by staff at a busy hospital. Often virtually everyone in a hospital is on the way somewhere, and they don't have much time to verify whether a certain vendor is supposed to be in the building. This has up until now made it very easy for a vendor to just walk into a hospital without ever talking to the purchasing department or anyone else for that matter. This situation can turn into a hit or miss affair as far as credentialing is concerned.
As a solution to all this, automated vendor credentialing systems have been created. These are systems that keep the names and other information concerning vendor companies and sales and service representatives that visit hospitals in an integrated database. When the vendor rep enters the hospital, he or she checks in with the front desk and the name is run through the software. The system checks not only that the company and representative name is correct, but that the representative's immunizations, liability insurance, training, and so on are all up to date and in compliance with requirements.
If the requirements are met, the vendor is often issued a badge. Any vendor not wearing a badge can be easily recognized by any hospital staff as not being cleared for being in the hospital. This virtually eliminates the risk of not only unauthorized vendors or service people entering, but also ones who have issues such as expired insurance, out of date immunizations, or other problems that violate the compliance codes of the hospital.
Vendor credentialing systems protect all concerned. They protect patients because the latter are not at risk of unscrupulous persons dealing with them or being in the vicinity, or people that could pose a health risk. They protect the vendors as well, making sure they go where they are needed in the hospital, are not exposed to unnecessary health risks or ones for which they are not immunized, and can do their jobs free of concern.
In light of all this, vendor credentialing systems are fast becoming the norm in hospitals. Using these systems, patient care, one of the chief concerns of a hospital, is enhanced, and the safety and welfare of non patients is safeguarded as well. They bring the level of professionalism up and insure a safe and quality health care experience for all concerned.
