Sytrinol is one of the latest and most effective patented proprietary formula comprising of citrus and palm fruit extracts for reducing cholesterol levels and thereby cardiac problems. It contains polymethoxylated flavonoids (PMFs) and tocotrienols which significantly reduce total cholesterol and bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and triglycerides. Besides it has powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which contribute to managing cardiovascular risk factors.
Cardiovascular disease is the reason for more than 930,000 deaths in the United States alone. Reducing the amount of LDL Cholesterol is effective to a great extent in preventing coronary events and cardiac arrests. The usual prescription for cholesterol is a statin drug. However, statins drugs have been known to have potentially dangerous side effects. It has been shown by studies that flavonoids are safer than statins.

PMFs are flavonoid compounds derived from the peels of citrus fruits like oranges and tangerine. Sytrinol has flavonoids like nobelitin and tangerine which are responsible for cholesterol reduction. Nobiletin was first extracted from orange peels. It is an powerful anti-inflammatory agent. Atherosclerosis was considerably reduced in people who were treated with nobiletin. Tangerine is a PMF first isolated from tangerine oil. It was found to exhibit anti-oxidant and neuroprotective properties. Recently, in vitro studies have shown that tangerine is able to lower triglyceride and apo-B levels. It interferes with cellular production of triglycerides and lowers it by 37%. It reduces apo-B production by inhibiting a protein responsible for synthesis of apo-B in the liver. Apo-B is responsible for production of LDL cholesterol. Thus, by inhibiting the production of apo-B, LDL cholesterol is also reduced.
Tocotrienols are a third protective component of the Sytrinol formula. They are the naturally occuring antioxidant analogs of tocopherols. They lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels by degrading the enzyme HMG-CoA-reductase, which is responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver. Thus, tocotrienols suppress cholesterol synthesis without the harmful side effects of statins.
Tocotrienols obtained from palm oil sources have been shown to reduce LDL and triglyceride levels and increase HDL (good) cholesterol levels. At the same time, they have also increased the production of apo-A which counter balances the effect of apo-B.
Sytrinol has been developed after 12 years of extensive research on polymethoxylated flavonoids, tocotrienols and their effect on cardiovascular health. Health benefits have been demonstrated using in vivo, in vitro and clinical studies. Sytrinol is currently being tested in a long-term, double blind, randomized study on people with moderately high cholesterol. The results after 12 weeks showed that total cholesterol was lowered by 30%, LDL cholesterol by 27% and triglycerides by 33%. The HDL level increased by 4% bringing down the LDL/HDL ratio by 30%.
Cholesterol management is one of the best ways to prevent cardiovascular risk. Natural methods such as lifestyle modification, diet, exercise and natural supplements can help maintain cholesterol at optimum levels. For those who need additional cholesterol – lowering drugs, Sytrinol is a safe and viable option. Taken in combination with other ingredients, it is a good alternative therapy for healthy life.
