Correct Vision Defects with Advanced Refractive Surgery by Kathryn Dawson
Refractive eye surgery aims to improve the refractive index of the eye by correcting defects in the cornea. LASIK surgery and reflective lens exchange are the most popular methods to correct the refractive state of the eye. When conducted using advanced equipment, under the supervision of an expert ophthalmologist, refractive surgery should pose no severe complications. According to a study published in the Ocular Surgery News in May 2008, 95% of the patients achieve satisfactory vision correction through refractive eye surgery. Refractive surgery can lessen or totally eliminate the need to wear eyeglasses or contacts.
Different Types of Refractive Surgery
There are different forms of refractive surgery used to correct visual impairment, such as:
• Flap procedure: In laser eye surgery, the flap procedure is used to allow treatment of the inner layers of cornea. In this procedure, the refractive surgery is conducted after removing a flap from the top layer of cornea through the use of a laser beam. This flap is then replaced.
• Surface procedures: These procedures utilise laser technology to reshape the cornea. Conducted by highly experienced eye surgeons, they do not need a cornea flap.
• Corneal incision: There are three types of corneal incision procedures - radial keratotomy, arcuate keratotomy and limbal relaxing incisions. All three procedures involve an incision on the cornea to correct different visual defects. The incision is made on different layers of the cornea to correct specific problems.
Apart from these three types, there are several other vision correction procedures, such as lens implantation and laser thermal surgery, which fit in the refractive surgery category.
Most Popular Forms of Refractive Surgery
The most popular forms of refractive surgery used across the globe to correct different forms of visual imperfections are:
LASIK: LASIK (which stands for laser in situ keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure to treat vision errors such as myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism. LASIK surgery should be conducted by a specialist eye doctor. This process involves the use of an excimer laser to correct vision defects by treating the corneal tissues. Conventionally, the outer layer of the cornea is cut to create a flap so that laser beam can penetrate to the inner tissues. A Concerto excimer laser is used to reshape the structure of the cornea. The flap is then replaced after the operation.
With the development of Wavefront optimization technology, laser eye surgery has become even more effective. Wavefront technology is available only at select eye care facilities across the world and promises better vision correction. A kind of light map is created of the patient's eye. This is compared to the map of an eye with perfect vision and used to guide the laser correction.
Refractive lens exchange: This is a less complicated procedure as compared to laser eye surgery. It is used to cure vision blurring and other minor vision defects. It is specifically performed for defects arising from the hardening of the eye lens due to injury or damage. In this process, the hardened or cloudy lens is replaced with an artificial lens, which can be customized according to the requirements of the patient.
People who have had a refractive surgery should opt for another refractive procedure only after consulting a highly experienced eye doctor. Those who suffer from inflammation of the eyelids are also not good candidates for a refractive surgery.
For information about the risks associated with refractive surgery, browse the internet for resources on eye surgery. To decide on which eye hospital, look for specialist providers of ophthalmic services. Make sure they have state-of-the-art facilities, enabling them to specialise in vision correction (refractive surgery and laser eye surgery) cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cosmetic eye surgery. You'll also want to check that your eye doctor and surgeon will be a highly experienced specialist, so check the information available on the consultants.

Nursing Jobs In Australia Enable Work And Travel by Kathryn Dawson
The Australian Government have made it clear that they wish to attract more nursing and medical staff from around the world into their country. A national shortage down under is great news for anyone wishing to combine their job with travel. The population of Australia is steadily increasing and this combined with an aging population means that there are too many nursing staff posts to fill by Australians themselves. The Government are looking towards foreign workers to fill the void. There are consequently some excellent career opportunities available for qualified nurses that provide good pay, ongoing training and experience and a very high quality of life that Australia has come to be known for. From short posts to much longer, nursing staff have a host of opportunities available to them down under.
There is plenty of flexibility when it comes to applying for positions in Australia or New Zealand. Anyone wishing to enjoy a short trip is welcome to do so as there are posts of just a few months long available. By keeping the experience short you are able to gain all the benefits and opportunities of taking part in such a contract with none of the stresses or strains of leaving behind friends and family. Alternatively there are much longer positions too if you are looking to live long term in a new country. Some professionals choose to continually take up new postings so that they can see all parts of the world. This is a great way to get paid whilst seeing the world, and it often provides the opportunity to work in poorer countries or those affected by natural disasters or even war.
It is important to consider how long you would like to be away for before embarking on this journey. Feeling like you are home too early can be just as bad as feeling homesick whilst there so it's important to get the length of contract right. It is natural that the process of applying for jobs may seem daunting. Fortunately there are agencies that specialise in just this - relocating nurses and medical professionals abroad. They will ensure all visas are obtained, housing is organised and will act as a good base off which to jump. There are different agencies available and some will offer choice as to where you want to go, whereas others will not. Make sure you know which type you are signed up with to ensure you end up going somewhere you planned to.
Australia is a great destination for nursing staff from the UK. The language is the same, the cultures are not that different yet it provides a totally different, more relaxed and sunnier way of life. There seems to be a "work hard, play hard" attitude in Australia which means you can bank on having a great life outside of work enjoying past times such as surfing, swimming in the sea, traveling to other parts of the country or enjoying the night life in one of the many bustling and cosmopolitan cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide. With each city being very different from one another, you may want to do your homework beforehand or talk to others that have been there in order to pick one that is most suited to your personality and objectives. Alternatively if small outback towns are more you style then you may want to avoid a city altogether and request a posting elsewhere.
Taking up nursing jobs in Australia can be a great way to develop your skills, further your career, get paid whilst you travel and enjoy new experiences that may otherwise be lacking. Short term contracts are perfect for those wishing to experience a quick adventure before settling down into long term work, whereas long terms posts are perfect for those wishing to experience living in a new country altogether. There are plenty of opportunities for health professionals across the spectrum with a large number of registered nurse jobs available. Those looking for a mental heath nurse job will find Australia and New Zealand delivers too.

Medical Malpractice - Know Your Rights And Avail An Expert Assistance! by George Turner
One cannot blame any medical institution or a doctor for the case of medical malpractice. No ordinary symptoms like sneezing after an operation count in the disasters of medical malpractice. Also, at times, doctor refutes to accept any disorder or complication after treatment as a cause of medical malpractice. So, for this it would be advisable if you consult a highly professional and experienced attorney dealing in such cases.
The plaintiff must be clear about the symptoms that may have been troubling him after the completion of treatment and should give a detailed overview of the entire case history to their attorney. A medical malpractice lawyer is an expert who knows what all symptoms and situations are countable in a medical malpractice or wrong diagnosis case. He will accordingly study your case and file your complaint against the medical institution in concern with your treatment.
The most important factor that needs to be under control is the time period for filing the litigation of medical malpractice. Since, every state has its own time limit to file such a case and delay of a year or so would not be considered into the medical malpractice rather an act of carelessness of patient. This, an expert medical malpractice attorney knows very well.
Medical malpractice as all of us know already is a legal term that specifies an act against wrong diagnosis or carelessness of the doctor. So far hundreds of such cases have been brought into the light in almost every state of US and had been handled successfully delivering relief to the patient’s family.
The medical malpractice law allows a patient to claim for the losses that have been incurred owing to wrong diagnosis, carelessness of medical staff, or the undiagnosed case. The loss can be financial, physical disability, mental trauma, and often death of the patient. All of these cases can be brought into the case with the help of a professional legal attorney and be claimed for the compensation. If the patient dies due to the negligence or wrong diagnosis of the doctor, then a case for wrongful death could be filed against the institution.
Some of the major cases that can be included into the wrong diagnosis or the medical malpractice symptoms include:
Chest pain or cardiac attack
• Pain in abdomen
• Resurfacing of lump in breasts (breast cancer)
• Bleeding in colon or rectum (colorectal cancer)
• Incessant coughing and sneezing (mesothelioma or may be along cancer left undiagnosed)
You can find an attorney suitable to your case in yellow pages and also on Internet database. Most of the medical malpractice lawyers have registered themselves on online portal for the convenience of people who are not living in big cities. This has made legal services accessible to larger proportion of mass.
Make sure you negotiate on the legal fee beforehand so that you may not get further deep into any other mess. Generally, a legal fee is higher yet there are attorneys who take their fess when they win the compensation successfully. These attorneys claim certain percentage of the compensation as their fee which is a beneficial deal for both the lawyer and the client (patient).

Prescription Drugs Can Cause Accidents by George Murphy
The increased use and subsequent abuse of prescription drugs have police across the United Sates struggling to properly charge offenders. The fact that many of offenders are taking drugs legally prescribed to them makes it very difficult to determine if the drug levels found in subjects are within the prescribed limits. A recent expose by The New York Times probes into the many different sides of this difficult struggle. For our purposes, we will stick to the areas of the piece that have an effect on construction accidents and construction injuries.
The debate on how to enforce this issue really centers on how to define inappropriate levels of legally prescribed drugs. Construction workers are usually aware of policies banning certain medications at the workplace, despite their general legality. But how can this extend out to the general populace with regard to the act of driving? Mark Neil, senior lawyer at the National Traffic Law Center, frames the debate this way, "How do we balance between people who legitimately need their prescriptions and protecting the public? It becomes a very delicate balance."
Laws banning the use of illegal drugs are more common at the workplace, and some states have even passed laws that make it illegal to drive with the presence of an illegal substance in your body, at any level of detection. Chuck Hayes, of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, spoke with the New York Times on how the change in drug user behavior from illegal drugs to prescription drugs makes charging offenders more difficult. "In the past it was cocaine, it was PCP, " Hayes stated. "Now we're into this prescription drug era that is giving us a whole new challenge."
Many people believe that with the right messaging, the notion that so-called "drugged driving", even legal drugs, is wrong. Gil Kerlikowske, President Obama's top drug policy advisor, has set the goal of reducing drugged-driving accidents by ten percent over the next five years. Kerlikowske explains that, "We have a pretty clear message in this country that you don't drink and drive. We need very much to have a similar message when it comes to drugs."
Kerlikowske goes on to explain the tone and content of his message on drugged driving. "You don't want to scare people," he said, "but you certainly want to make them aware of the dangerousness. You can be as deadly behind the wheel with prescription drugs as you can with over-the-limit alcohol, and you are responsible for your own actions."
In a statement that really ties this issue into New York construction accidents, Lt. Col. Thomas C. Hejl, the assistant sheriff in Calvert County, Md, posses this question, "Would you go home and start a chain saw and cut down a tree?" No, you certainly would not, a concept the construction industry has embraced for decades. Lt. Col. Heil's answers his own question with another a question, summing up the challenges ahead, "Why should you get behind the wheel of a vehicle when the same medication has the same side effects?" This question will prove to be tougher for people to answer.

Weight Loss Affirmations Equals Success by Greg Frost
In order to accomplish anything, one must believe that the power to achieve the goal lies within them. This is how weight loss affirmations equals success. To affirm something such as a goal is to believe that it exists and it is possible. Let's stop a moment to look at the phrase 'weight loss affirmation equals success'. In the western world reading is done from left to right across the page while in other parts of the world, reading is done from right to left. Looking at this phrase in reverse order can change the mental picture greatly. Success equals affirming loss of weight.
We have all been taught that affirmations must be reasonable, but have you ever stopped to think about what exactly does 'reasonable' means? It's not like a one-size-fits-all garment. Your affirmation must fit you and nobody else because you are the one who has to believe it. If we don't believe in something, we are not likely to accept it. For example, if you don't believe the glass is half full, you won't accept that concept.
In the case of weight loss, the affirmation itself serves to heighten the determination to accomplish the goal. This increases the ability and desire to change the way we think about our weight and our outward appearance in general. This will then spur us on toward the successful completion of the path leading towards the goal.
The purpose of the affirmation is to encourage the mind which in turn will direct the body to follow the mindset toward the goal. The affirmation must be in the present tense because this is the 'now' of our existence. In creating a weight affirmation, words associated with eating or hunger must not be used. The reason for this is because if you say to yourself 'I am not hungry' the mind immediately focuses on the word hungry and can easily erase 'not ' from the thought.
Many weight loss experts advise one to keep a count of the negative weight loss thoughts which pop into your mind during the day. A very simple method to do this is to simply make a mark on a writing surface and cross them off in groups of five. Doing this exercise serves two purposes. First of all, it makes you aware of how many negative weight related thoughts have cross your mind. Secondly, it tends to brainwash the subconscious mind, making change more acceptable.
Another method for weight loss affirmation is to write down one or two very positive, very short affirmations so that you can voice them as often as possible during the day. Even if you don't voice them audibly, by repeating it silently, it will cause the mind to focus upon them. The main purpose of doing this is to cut into the resistance factor of the subconscious and thereby change the thought pattern. Along with words associated with eating and hunger, another word to avoid using is 'diet'.
Just the mere thought of 'diet' is a negative concept since it focuses on lack and depriving the body of food which can also be perceived as punishment. If the affirmation is positive, reasonable, believable and acceptable, the results will equal weight loss. Weight Loss affirmations can actually be achieved!

Diet Programs And Meals - The Creole Diet by Levi Reiss
The Creole Diet, based on Creole cuisine, was created by Marie-Antoinette Sejean-Ortole. It proposes balanced, protein-rich menus during three phases. During the initial phase that lasts ten days eat at least three meals a day, drink a lot, undergo three shock days in which you eat 300 grams (about 10 ounces) of meat or fish, 300 grams of white cheese containing from 0% to 20% butterfat or two yogurts with a small quantity of light cheese, as much green salad as you wish, and three bowls of green soup or 300 grams of green vegetables. Spread this food over the whole day. Cook your food without any grease or oil, but you may season your salad with a light dressing. Days 1, 5, and 8 are the special days. The menus for the remaining days are very well defined.
Phase 2 lasts for 20 days. Days 1, 8, and 15 are shock days. On these days add 150 to 200 grams (about 5 to 7 ounces) of soy bean sprouts to the previous choc day menus. And replace the 300 grams of meat or fish with 300 grams of fish broth. Once again, the menus for the other days are very well defined. When you finish phase 2 be sure to practice a sport such as speed walking, swimming, or bicycling. Exercise according to your own rhythm for 40 minutes, three times a week. Phase 3 is stabilization. You are now allowed one or two glasses of wine with meals.
A major advantage of the Creole Diet is that the meals are varied and balanced. Despite the fact that it's Creole cuisine, most of the food is easy to find. One disadvantage is that fruits are absent from Phase 1. And individuals who aren't familiar with Creole cuisine will have to learn many recipes.
Here are two sample menus:
Menu 1 (Phase 1, days 3 and 10)
Breakfast: Two slices of whole grain bread. 100 grams of white cheese containing from 0% to 20% butterfat. Tea or coffee.
Lunch: 150 grams of marinated fish. Half a bowl of Creole rice. Half a bowl of lentils. One slice of watermelon.
Supper: 2 bowls of green soup. Two slices of grilled ham. Green salad with two tablespoons of light dressing. A skim-milk fruit yogurt.
Menu 2 (Phase 3)
Breakfast: Two slices of whole grain bread with one tablespoon of jam. One egg. One apple. Tea or coffee.
Lunch: 200 grams of roast pork. Spinach. 150 grams of pasta. 1 yogourt. Half a cantaloupe.
Supper: Grilled chicken. Creole rice. 150 grams of lentils. A skim-milk fruit yogurt. One small mango.
Some information in this article comes from a fascinating new book, La Bible des Regimes, written by Jenny de Jonquieres and published by Amerik Media. Her book describes over 80 diets and weight reduction programs. Each diet is presented with 5 menu plans, a detailed discussion of its advantages and disadvantages, and lots more. At present La Bible des Regimes is available in French only. For more information consult the publisher's website www.amerik-media.com.

What Are Dental Implants? by Kathryn Dawson
Cosmetic dentistry is becoming increasingly popular in the UK. The prices are coming down and it no longer just the very rich who can afford to have dental implants and other cosmetic work done on their teeth. The advancement of procedures and technology in the industry too has meant that cosmetic dental work is safer and more effective than it ever has been before. Dental implants are an important aspect of cosmetic dentistry as they are an effective way to replace missing teeth. If you suffer from bad teeth or have any missing teeth that you would like replaced, then dental implants may be the best route to take. This article explores dental implants and what they can do for your smile.
A dental implant is a metallic root of a tooth that is inserted into the bone above the space where the tooth should be. It is left in the bone until it has completely fused and is secure enough to hold a fake or prosthetic tooth. The root is made of titanium which the body accepts and tolerates well. In order for the body to not reject the metal insertion, a medical procedure is carried out that involves cutting through the gum tissue, inserting the root into the bone and sewing the gum over or around the implant. It will be several months before the root will be strong enough to support a tooth.
If this is something you are interested in doing, you should first talk to your regular dentist to see if you are a suitable candidate. Although they may not be able to carry out the work themselves, they may be able to recommend an oral surgeon or prosthodontist who can. Otherwise you should talk to your friends, family and work colleagues to see if they have had similar work done and can recommend a good practice to visit. Because of the relative complexity of the treatment and the regular check ups and appointments that need carrying out, the price can range from Ј800 up to several thousand per tooth. However, it is considered to be a permanent solution and can dramatically improve your smile. There will be regular check ups needed into the future and occasionally a root may need replacing. Be prepared for possible future treatment and the expenses associated with this.
Not everybody is suitable for dental implants, and the first step should be discussing it with your regular dentist. Those with diabetes may not be suitable for example, neither are people with weakened of worn away bone. Smokers in particular have missing bone in their jaws which means there is no space to insert the root of the tooth. There is a procedure called a bone graft however, although this adds further cost and further treatment to the patient. It is generally a safe procedure and there are few risks associated with it. Occasionally the body can reject the implant - in this instance the procedure can be tried again, or sometimes just chalked up as a failure. Anyone going into this should be aware of this, and be prepared for it not to work. There are no reimbursements if this happens either.
Dental implants can drastically improve the look of a person's teeth. Dental implants in the UK are becoming more and more popular as a way of gaining a better smile. Although cosmetic dentistry in London and the rest of the country has always been available, the high costs have often deterred the majority of people. With lower costs today, procedures such as dental implants are becoming ever more popular and more commonly seen as a permanent solution to poor teeth.

Effective Remedies for Ringworm Extermination by Preston Blackmore
All people can get infected with ringworms regardless of age, sex, and socio-economic status. Anyone can contract the fungal infection when exposed to a dermatophyte contaminated article or area, and through direct contact from an infected person or animal. There are a lot of effective ringworm remedies that will help you exterminate the fungi. Here are some of the ringworm remedies that will help you solve your ringworm problem:
- Use bleach to clean your clothes and environment. Bleach is cheap and readily available. This is very effective in killing fungi. But this should not be directly administered on the skin because it can cause irritation or allergic reactions, and if it is absorbed it can cause lung damage. You just have to use bleach in cleaning clothes and home environment. It is recommended to dilute the bleach, 1:10 or 1:100 solution in water can be used. Bleach is a good disinfectant that will keep your things and environment clean.
- Wipe your sweat. Dermatophytes thrive well in warm and moist areas of your body, which include groin, armpits, and other areas of the body that have folds. When you sweat, make sure you wipe it out or change a clean and dry clothing to prevent the growth of fungi.
- Apply fresh papaya slice. A fresh papaya slice is an effective remedy for ringworms. Apply the papaya slice thoroughly on the ringworm patch. You can also use a papaya paste from crushed papaya seed with water. Apply it over the ringworm patch, let it dry, and then rinse it off. Application should be done twice a day for 30 days.
- Use mustard paste. Ground mustard seeds and then mix it with water. Wash the ringworm with warm water then apply the mustard paste over it. Allow the paste to dry, and rinse it with cool water.
- Administer basil paste. Basil paste or an extract of basil is an effective ringworm remedy. Apply the extract over the affected area twice a day for 30 days.
- Application of cassia paste. Crush the cassia leaves to form a fine paste. Apply the cassia paste over the ringworm for 15 days.
- Use turmeric extract. The turmeric should be crushed to extract its juice. The turmeric should be applied over the ringworm, and then take a teaspoon of turmeric extract with a teaspoon of honey.
- Drink a fresh vegetable juice. Carrot and spinach juice are effective in treating ringworm. You should drink 300 ml of carrot juice and 200 ml of spinach juice, a total of 500 ml of vegetable juice everyday for 30 days.
- Apply butea paste. Pound fresh butea seeds and then combine with some lime juice to produce a paste. Apply the butea paste over the affected site, and let it dry. Remove the dried paste using water.
- Using sulfur. Sulfur is one of the oldest fungicides and efficacious in treating ringworms.
- Application of coconut oil. Apply the coconut oil over the ringworm patch. This will alleviate the itchiness and will help eradication of the ringworm.

A Bit Of Dirt Will Not Kill You by Nick Vassilev
When I was in my student days, one of my flatmates was a microbiology undergraduate. Over one fortnight, she had an experiment which involved Petri dishes being placed at odd places around the house and left to grow mould. Now, we all know student fridges can be bit dubious at the best of times, but while Katy (name changed for privacy reasons) had her bacterium cultures growing in the fridge, you just didn't want to look very hard...
Katy also kept us informed about the amount of bacteria that float around the typical house and the millions of bacteria that grow in tea towels. But were we constantly sick in that flat? No. Did we scour the place regularly with hospital grade antiseptic and boil everything in sight? No. OK, we did change the teatowels daily.
The truth is that the human immune system does a pretty good job of keeping you safe from most of the invaders that try to make their way into the system. And another uncomfortable truth is that using too many disinfectants and antiseptics around the house can actually be dangerous for you.
One doctor (Dr Paul Brand, the medical missionary to India who made some crucial breakthroughs in understanding and treating leprosy) claims that a commercial antiseptic is "merely a cell-killer [which] also destroys the body's good cells... the average American household is more in danger from chemical germ-killers than from germs" (Fearfully and Wonderfully Made (1981) pg.19). No doctor would dismiss the need for antiseptics completely (during surgery, for instance) or turn the body's defences totally over to the white blood cells and go about drinking dubious water, eating unsafe food and so forth, but Dr Brand certainly has a point.
Have you ever noticed what happens to your skin if you get strong disinfectant on it? My skin, at any rate, becomes dry and cracked. This is because the antiseptic chemicals are not just killing the bacteria in my toilet, but they are also killing my skin cells. And let's not forget the toxic fumes that other antiseptics produce, especially chlorine bleach.
It's tempting to want to kill all the germs that could possibly live in our environment, especially if we have small children who we want to protect from illness. But we need to stop and think before we try to give all the toys a weekly dunk in disinfectant or bring out the hospital-grade disinfectants for all food-preparation surfaces. If you've been feeding your child decent food, he/she will probably have a pretty sound immune system. I've even read one scientist hypothesising that the reason for the increase in allergies is because children's healthy immune systems don't get much to work on in a sterilised environment, so they start reacting to innocuous stuff (Strachan, DP. Hay fever, hygiene, and household size. BMJ 299: 1259'1260, 1989). A little bit of dirt doesn't hurt.
In fact, a bit of dirt can actually be good for you. No, don't eat it deliberately. But getting hands in the dirt and rolling in the grass was one prescription given by a specialist to somebody who had contracted a "superbug" while they were in hospital (probably Staphylococcus aureus, the best known antibiotic-resistant bacterium). This is because S. aureus is something of a wimp in the bacteria world and usually gets dealt to by all the other bacteria, etc. in our environment - its one strength is the ability to survive antibiotics and the like. When the other bacteria are removed, S. areus has a field day.
There may be another reason why getting a bit dirty can help deal to "superbugs". Dirt contains a vast amount of bacteria and micorrhizae (moulds and fungi), some of which have not yet been classified by scientists. Some of these bacteria and mould are likely to be beneficial - there could very easily be a hitherto undiscovered antibiotic in the mud on the bottom of your Wellington boots. After all, Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin on a piece of mouldy bread which most of us would have thrown out in horror, if we found it in our cupboard.
So what do we do? How do we keep healthy without going over the top? - Eat well - give your immune system all the strength it can get.
- Be sensible and minimise the amount of germs that your system has to deal with - wash your hands before eating, cook food properly and don't go out of your way to eat dirt.
- Keep your house clean, but don't try to make it sterile.
- Don't worry about hidden dirt - just get rid of the visible stuff.
- Let your kids play outside and get dirty occasionally. Get dirty yourself once in a while.
- Have your vaccinations - this is boot camp for your white blood cells so they can deal to the really nasty illnesses.
- Don't bother with antibacterial soap - ordinary soap will do just fine.
- Don't ask your doctor for antibiotics for every little illness - save these for when you really need them.

Sugar Overload! by Josh Gershonowicz
As kids our moms warned us that having too many sweets would rot our teeth. Well guess what, mom was right! A typical can of soda can contain as much as 10 teaspoons of sugar! And we all know that some Americans, especially teenagers, sure can guzzle their soda!
Do you know how much sugar you and your family drink every day? According to the American Dental Association (ADA), the consumption of soft drinks, fruit juices, and sports drinks has increased by 500% over the past 50 years in the United States. The ADA reports that Americans consume more than 53 gallons of carbonated soft drinks per person per year. Some people find it difficult to avoid these sugary drinks since there are nearly 450 different soft drinks available in the United States.
What’s alarming is that most people don’t realize how much sugar they, or their children, consume on a daily basis. A research project published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that the average American eats the equivalent of 21 teaspoons of added sugar a day and that’s about 2 Ѕ to 3 times more sugar than recommended.
Excess sugar consumption is associated with obesity, diabetes, and other conditions linked to heart disease. The study warns that eating a diet that is extremely high in sugar can be as dangerous as having one that is high in fat.
The study showed that people who ate the most added sugar had the lowest HDL, or good cholesterol and people who ate the least amount of sugar had the highest HDL, or bad cholesterol. The study concluded that eating large amounts of added sugar more than tripled the risk of having low HDL, which is “a major risk factor for heart disease.”
The American Heart Association recommends limiting added sugar in the diet to no more than 100 calories a day for most women and 150 calories a day for most men. That equals about 6 teaspoons of sugar a day for women and 9 teaspoons for men. Did you know, however, that just one 12-ounce can of regular soda can have up to 10 teaspoons of sugar!
Eating and drinking excessive amounts of sugar affects the health of your mouth, too. Consuming too much sugar may lead to oral health problems such as tooth decay and gum disease. Sugar weakens and erodes enamel, the protective outer surface of teeth, and this makes teeth more susceptible to harmful bacteria and decay.
Simply put, eating and drinking too much sugar can cause cavities. A cavity starts as a small hole in your tooth. The ADA explains on their website that when you eat or drink sugary or starchy foods, the sugars and plaque on your teeth mix together to make an acid. The acids in your mouth attack your teeth and can make cavities.
Cavities cannot be fixed by themselves. They can only be fixed by a dentist who will remove the decay and put a filling in the hole left in your tooth. So what can you do to prevent cavities? The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing at least once per day, visiting the dentist regularly, and making nutritious food and beverage choices.

The Best Way To Build Muscle And Burn Fat At The Same Time? by Jerome Mangram
It's a fact that most people who take up bodybuilding want to achieve two simple goals: big muscles and razor sharp definition.
The truth is In order to get huge and ripped, your goal should should be to build muscle and burn fat while working to achieve mass.
Almost everyone who trains want this "super body" so badly, they tend to dive into their new programs with full force. They're desperate to see results fast, while putting in a minimal amount of work. Most people want to supersize their muscles, but they don't want to gain any extra body fat during this process.
It's important to know….
If you are seeking quick results, it is not likely to add a large amount of muscle to your physique without adding on body fat.
If your goal is to start "bulking" in a big way, you have no other choice than to accept this.
Your body increases muscle size through protein synthesis, a process that requires a surplus of calories in your system. Unfortunately, your body can't put 100% of your caloric surplus towards muscle growth. The fact is, a certain amount always adds towards body fat, so trying to build muscle burn fat at the same time does not work.
The only way to get the body of your dreams as efficiently as possible is to work in stages: build muscle on specific days and work on cardio to reduce body fat, to build muscle and burn fat at the same time.
{{{Ultimately,-Keep in mind that your muscle mass levels play a major part in deciding your basal metabolic rate, so it becomes easier to get rid of body fat after you have built your muscles to a significant degree. So, starting with a bulking phase is almost always your best bet then mixing in some cardio to burn fat.
Concentrate on what we've touched upon here, the point of a bulking phase is simple: grow as much muscle mass as possible and minimize body fat gains. When bulking up, keep your goals simple; since you can'tget around gaining body fat, you should instead try to keep these fat gains to a minimum by being a bit more active.
Here are the 3 things you need to do to achieve your goal….
1) Don't go overboard on calories.
Work towards a program of "optimal nutrition" instead of looking for a quick-fix "super nutrition" program. Fuelling muscle growth requires a caloric surplus, but randomly shoving food down your throat to grow muscle tissue will really just make you gain fat.
A very common caloric surplus formula is to take in 15-20% more calories than you need for weight maintenance; this amount will help support muscle growth. This is the optimum caloric excess range to support muscle building, so if you've already reached this figure, you don't need to consume any extra calories.
2) Keep a tight eye on your specific food sources.
Try getting your nutrients from the following big three: lean, high quality proteins, natural high fiber carbohydrates, and healthy, unsaturated fats.
Instead of just chowing down on everything in sight, focus on eating lean protein sources, maintaining a carbohydrate intake of good carbs to level out your blood sugar, and avoid large amounts of saturated fats.
By following this diet will assist in limiting the body fat you do accumulate; that way, you won't have to bust your head trying to figure out how to build muscle and burn fat all at once.
3) Perform cardio a couple times a week.
In addition to your bulking phase, try implementing 2-3 cardio sessions per week to help lower fat gains, but don't go overboard with this. Longer duration cardio workouts have been known to cause muscle loss, so you should add only 10-20 minutes of high intensity/low duration cardio to your routine.
If you have achieved your ultimate muscle size goal, it will be a cinch to switch over to a fat loss cycle where you can focus on eliminating body fat while maintaining muscle size.
So keep in mind that you're going to gain some body fat when you bulk up and your job should be to focus on minimizing the gain, rather than trying to build muscle and burn fat at the same time.

Jogging Strollers: 5 Tips to Help You Get Into Shape by Tillman Lovejoy
After having your baby, there are several important things you need to consider to get back in shape. For the past nine months your body has gone through several changes so go slow and takes the next nine months to get back to the fitness level you have been dreaming about. You don’t have to take nine months but the point is to have a plan and take your time. You don’t need to stress out about getting back into shape overnight, which is just not realistic. So here are some five things to guide you through your journey.
Number One, have a plan. If you fail to have a plan then you are sub-consciously planning to fail. Take your time, write out a schedule and stick to it. Just like making a budget for your money you need a budget for your time. Make sure you schedule your eat time, sleep time, work time and most important your relaxation and exercise time. Stress can easily add on the pounds so you need to mellow out.
Number Two, it is so important to eat right. This is one of the most important things you need to consider. You need to eat a well-balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. In this day and age this is something that is often overlooked, especially with our hectic lifestyles. Convenience is an absolute deterrent to good health. Absolutely do not give in to the diet market schemes. Good health is a lifestyle and not a fad diet. So eat several times a day snacking on fruit or vegetables, just watch you portion sizes, eat often and you will not get hungry.
Number Three is to make sure you get plenty of sleep. Yea, I know that is hard but please do it. Make sure you get six to eight hours of sleep at night and take a nap during the day. Even if you just take a 15 minute nap after lunch or mid-afternoon, you will be really surprised how much better you can feel.
Number four. Well, most of us cannot schedule our own work time, but talk to your employer. It is quite possible that you can arrange hours that can benefit them as well as you and your family.
Number five is taking five. Life is too short as it is and everyone needs to slow down and smell the roses. A good exercise plan can help you relax and will build your stamina making you feel better and better. You might want to consider buying a jogging stroller so you can take your child with you on walks. Jogging can add tremendous benefits to your health. So many people get so depressed thinking about an exercise program but shouldn’t. Just start out slow, walking, then slowly speed up a little every day, until you start jogging. Experts say that it is most beneficial to just increase your heart rate by around thirty percent just for fifteen to twenty minutes a day. Always make sure to warm up first and then warm down after.
Always consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program as this information is just some suggestions and not intended to be medical advice.

RNCOS Launches Global Trend Report on Generics Industry by RNCOS E-Services Pvt. Ltd.
According to our latest industry monitory report “Generics Trend”, the generics drug industry has expanded strongly in the recent years as the need for cheap medicines has increased significantly. Owing to factors like low cost and high affordability, the growth of generics market is outpacing the branded sector by a considerable margin. The coming four years will see more leading drugs going off patent, thereby increasing opportunities for generics producers.
The global generics market has recently witnessed a tremendous growth in the “generic-deals”, wherein the brand name maker pays the generic company to delay the market entry of a lower-cost generic drug alternative. To ban such deals many nations are coming up with several new stringent laws and regulations. For instance, in the US, the House has passed a bill limiting "pay for delay" settlements between brand-name and generic drug makers that used to delay the entry of generic drugs into the market.
Additionally, our trend report has focused on the current activities of the major pharmaceutical players that includes new drug discoveries, entering into emerging markets, and diversifying to boost revenue. For example, India and the European Union (EU) will sign a free-trade agreement before the end of 2010. In another instance, the proposed India-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) looks set to boost the pharmaceutical industry in both countries.
Our research indicates that with rising growth in emerging economies, major global drug makers are focusing on emerging markets as a new business area with the standard approach of offering low-cost generic drugs.
“Generics Trend” apart from providing a deep insight into the generics industry, has discussed generic version of cancer drugs as well. It also discusses various strategies adopted by the governments of many countries and private players that will propel the growth of this industry in future. Most importantly, the report also discusses parameters like key market drivers and emerging economies.

Fish Oil Blood Thinning Ability, One of the Many Cardiovascular Benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids by Laurel Cohen
One of the most amazing scientific discoveries from the last 30 years is fish oil blood thinning ability, which is but one of the many cardiovascular benefits you will receive from the daily consumption of omega 3 fatty acids. Many people are genetically more susceptible to the formation of blood clots due to either genetic deficiencies, or autoimmune disorders. They suffer from what is known as hyper coagulability.
The rest of us may not be at the same level of risk for forming potentially deadly blockages as these people are, but there is always a chance that something could develop. Surgery, infection, turbulent blood flow at vessel branches, or other trauma to the vessel walls can lead to coagulation. Blood clots are typically treated with what are commonly referred to as “blood thinners”, which have been known to cause problems.
Some of the compounds commonly used to prevent blood platelets from becoming cohesive and forming clots have been found to take patients to the opposite extreme, where they can’t stop bleeding. Others have had to be pulled from the market for causing problems such as heart attacks and liver damage. An omega 3 DHA fish oil blood thinning nutritional supplement poses no risk to the user, unless extremely high dosages are ingested.
There are also too many other benefits that supplementing the diet with omega 3 fatty acids offer, that these other anticoagulant compounds don’t. DHA and EPA n-3 fatty acids lower blood pressure, reduce triglyceride levels, inhibit potentially fatal heartbeat irregularities, and are constructive in the prevention of circulatory issues such as varicose veins and Raynaud’s disease.
The fact is that the benefits DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acid supplementations go far beyond the fish oil blood thinning phenomenon. These essential nutrients have also been proven to significantly reduce a person’s risk of developing many inflammatory diseases, which people commonly suffer. Everyone can profit from ingesting just 2,000mg to 4,000mg per day of these amazing nutrients.
These particular omega 3 fatty acids have been proven to prevent the development of allergies, asthma, arthritis, gout, inflammatory bowel disease, Type II diabetes, and even hormone driven cancer. Breast, colon, and prostate cancer can actually be prevented by the daily consumption of omega 3 fatty acid fish oil supplements. High doses of DHA and EPA omega fatty acids have been proven to also improve the performance of drugs used in cancer treatment.
There are also the cognitive benefits to consider besides the proven fish oil blood thinning ability. High levels of DHA and EPA in the blood has been proven to improve memory, learning, comprehension, and can be instrumental in the treatment of depression, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is even suspected that these nutrients may deter Alzheimer’s disease, by inhibiting the formation of amyloid plaque deposits.
There are so many positive things that omega 3 fatty acids can do for you, other than the fish oil blood thinning phenomenon that daily supplementation is an obvious must. You will benefit greatly from supplementing your diet with a daily omega 3 DHA formula.

Fish Oil and Weight Loss – Should You Be Skeptical? by Laurel Cohen
A lot of people have questioned the validity of the purported connection between fish oil and weight loss, and who could blame them for being skeptical. Most of the dietary supplements intended to help folks drop down in weight don’t work, and this has been proven time and time again. Besides, omega 3 fatty acids have been claimed to do so many miraculous things, there is no way it can all be true.
The fact is that there is scientific evidence that backs up every claim about the effectiveness of these essential nutrients, when it comes to the prevention and treatment of all manner of inflammatory disease. With all of this evidence supporting the positive claims about omega 3 fatty acids, why would you even doubt that they could do more for you? Let’s look at the evidence that supports omega 3 fatty acids as a weight loss tool.
The first study that we’ll site when it comes to fish oil and weight loss was conducted at the University of Georgia. What this study concluded was that establishing high levels of DHA omega fatty acid aided in halting the conversion of what are known as pre-fat cells into fat cells by causing them to perish. The loss of these cells makes a remarkable difference in the amount f fat one accumulates over time.
Scientist in Japan conducted study of two groups of obesity prone mice. They fed these mice high fat diets, and one group was given omega 3 DHA fish oil supplements, while the other was not. By the end of the study, the scientists concluded that the group that was receiving the omega 3 fatty acid supplements metabolized far more fat than the non-supplemented group did, and therefore gained less weight.
Other results that have been verified during these fish oil and weight loss seem to support earlier findings that omega 3 fatty acids have a significant affect on the cardiovascular system, and the entire body. Those in the groups that were given fish oil supplements experience reduced blood pressure, slowed heart rates, and significantly lower triglyceride levels. Evidence shows that people that ingest omega 3 fatty acid supplements regularly also suffer a lower risk of plaque building on the artery walls.
Exercise plays a key role in the connection between fish oil and weight loss, and it has been found that people that exercised regularly and took fish oil lost more weight than those that used exercise alone. Like exercise, omega 3 fatty acids have a positive affect on mood related disorders such as depression. It seems that people suffering from these types of disorders typically have low levels of omega 3s.
What is the worst thing that could happen if you explored the connection between fish oil and weight loss? Even if you didn’t lose as much weight as you would like, you would still benefit physically and mentally from supplementing your diet with omega 3 fatty acids. It seems to me that ANY weight you lost would just be a bonus.

Fish Oil for Kids – Why Safety is Not an Issue by Laurel Cohen
More and more adults are becoming sold on the many proven health benefits that can be enjoyed by supplementing the diet with omega 3 fatty acids, but those same people shy away from the idea of fish oil for kids. I know that we all want what is best for our children, and would do anything that we could to protect them. This is a case where their safety is not an issue however, and I will explain to you why.
People generally worry about giving their child anything that could have a negative impact on their health, and who could blame them. Young people have had all sorts of difficulties with medications developed to treat various mood disorders like depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The drugs commonly described to children and adolescents aren’t really necessary, because you can treat all of these ailments naturally.
Dietary omega 3 DHA fish oil for kids provides the same benefits in one supplement, that a myriad of potentially harmful prescription medications do. Increasing your child’s levels of DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids can benefit depression, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, aggression, and hostility. It can even increase their memory, learning ability, comprehension, problem solving skills, and spatial task performance.
The truth is that a child can receive cognitive benefits before they ever leave the safety of their mother’s womb. Recent studies have shown that the many physical ad mental benefits that a mother receives while carrying her child can be passed on directly to the fetus. It makes perfect sense that omega 3 fatty acids would have such a powerful effect on a child’s development, because DHA fatty acid is naturally occurring in breast milk.
Cognitive development and the safe treatment of mood disorders are not the only reasons to seriously consider fish oil for kids. There are also many wonderful physical benefits that they will enjoy by increasing the levels of DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids in their blood. Your kids are not too young to young for you to begin taking steps to help them be resistant to the development of inflammatory disease.
What if you could safely prevent prevalent childhood ailments such as asthma and allergies from affecting your little one? How about giving him or her the best chance possible to avoid the development of cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes, arthritis, and gout later on in life? If none of these things sell you on giving your child fish oil, then maybe the prevention of breast, colon and prostate cancer will.
Fish oil for kids can change the life of your child, as mentally it can give them a serious advantage over their peers with less than ideal levels of DHA and EPA omega fatty acids. It can also give them and advantage over most adults, because not only can they possibly maintain better physical health, but mental health then as well. Omega 3 fatty acids are thought to possibly prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
How do you feel about fish oil for kids now?

Fish Oil for Cats – A Growing Movement by Laurel Cohen
You may have never heard anyone recommend fish oil for cats, but supplementing the diet of ones pets is a growing movement. It is now being advised that both cats and dogs can receive the same incredible benefits from increased levels of DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids as humans can. If human beings can possibly live a life completely free of the risk of developing inflammatory disease, why shouldn’t we want our “children” to enjoy the same freedom?
It has been widely noted that pet owners will go to what some people would judge to be extreme’s at times, in order to keep their pets healthy and happy. It is not unheard of for pet lovers to spend thousands of dollars on procedures to extend the lives of what they deem as members of their family. People that don’t have an affection for animals, will never know what a close bond can be formed with one.
These animals give there owners love and affection unselfishly, which is more than you can say about many of the humans you will meet in your life. If you can repay this love and attention back to them by taking every measure to ensure that they remain in the best possible health throughout their lives, then why not fish oil for cats and dogs. Supplementing their diet may even keep your furry companion around longer.
Pets are prone to the same inflammatory ailments that their owners are. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, allergies, immune system disorders, and certain types of hormone driven diseases like breast and prostate cancer are common in dog and cats that are getting up in age. All of these problems can either be prevented through supplementing their diets with omega 3 fatty acids, or treatment of the diseases can be made easier.
You might even be surprised to find out that fish oil for cats and dogs can benefit them (and you) as far as their behavior. Pets suffer from mood disorders just like human beings do, and increasing their levels of DHA and EPA omega fatty acids in the blood can help to reverse negative behavior. Supplementing your pet’s diet with fish oil can help him or her overcome depression, and aggressive behavior.
I am not saying that increasing the levels of omega 3 fatty acids in your pet’s blood is going to be a definite cure-all. Different breeds react differently to the increase in n-3s in their system, and each individual dog within a particular breed may respond better than others. Your pet will receive health benefits to some extent though, and even if it just helps a little, wouldn’t it be worth giving it a try?
Dietary omega 3 DHA fish oil for cats and dogs could make just enough difference in the life of a dog with failing health to make things just a little easier on him or her. We all want the absolute best for our furry companions, and fish oil for cats and dogs could give them that extra little something they need.

How To Start a Medical Transcription Service by Frank Breinling
Medical transcription is an exciting career. Not only can you work from the comfort of your own home, but you can consistently advance your training to open up the doors to new opportunities, including building your own home based MT business.
For the most part, medical transcriptionists will be responsible for converting patient records and medical files into typewritten documents, rather than handwritten to avoid misinterpretation.
All transcripts must be grammatically correct and free of errors as the medical industry requires specific guidelines be met when transcribing audio files into patient records.
The medical transcription industry does not require training or specific accreditation in order to secure employment, however the majority of new transcriptionists seek out online training as a method of gaining hands-on training and experience prior to entering the job market.
Not only will training help equip you with the knowledge you need, but it will also provide you with specific skills necessary in the MT job market, including typing, processing, and medical terminology.
Here are some of the things every medical transcriptionist needs to know (and is trained to understand via a MT course):
Knowledge of disease processes
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Basic understanding of medical terminology and punctuation used
Above average typing skills
Ability to work independently, taking direction.
Knowledge of medical writing style, and overall grammar.
Ability to work with audio recordings, voice manipulations and translation.
When it comes to medical transcription, there are a few things you will need to equip your office with in order to be able to complete projects for hospitals and physicians.
To start, you will want to purchase word processing software, such as MS Word or WordPerfect. Make sure that you install and configure your word processing software so that you are familiar with the settings, and if possible, learn to use macros which will help automate repetitive tasks, speeding up your productivity.
You will also need a transcriber machine in the event your clients are using dictation tapes when creating their audio files. Transcriber machines play back audiotape files making it possible for you to transcribe and translate as you listen to the recording.
Transcriber machines also offer the ability to slow down the speed so that you can keep the pace as you type, as well as offer "stop points", where you can temporarily pause the audio at a specific point to return to it later on.
These days, you can usually purchase transcriber machines that will effectively play multiple size recording tapes, however depending on the size of the tapes that your clients use, you may need to purchase multiple transcriber machines.
Certain clients will request that they dictate via the telephone and in those cases, you will want to look into setting up a voice system line that will compress voice files so you can transfer them to your computer.
Other equipment that may be required can include a copy machine, fax machine, dedicated phone lines, email addresses, FTP client to upload and download files, and printer.
There are an incredible number of MT jobs available, and with health care facilities continuing to expand, the number of medical transcription jobs available in the market continue to multiply as well.
There are however, different variations of the MT job opportunity with in-house positions being offered (where you work at the physicians office or directly in the hospital) as well as telecommuting based positions, where you are able to work from home on your own schedule.
One thing to keep in mind is that when you work as a MT freelancer, you are responsible for your own taxes and are not offered the same employee benefits, as you would be if you worked directly for a company, on-site. In addition, pay scales will also vary, depending on the amount of work you take on and the actual company or doctor hiring you to complete their projects.
For the most part, MT opportunities offer very lucrative pay options, ranging anywhere from $12-25.00 per hour. You can also choose to take on projects that pay per line, rather than per project, although the majority of online companies and employees hiring telecommuting based freelancers seem to prefer a "per project" basis.

The Way To Ease Your Back Pain Dilemma by Frank Cobert
If you have ever suffered from back pain, you will know that it is no laughing matter. Unfortunately, instead of solving the problem, there are many people who simply chose to live with the pain. Although you might not be able to make the pain disappear totally sometimes, there are some things you can do to ease the pain so that it does not worsen and make it more unbearable for you.
1. Change your mattress
It might be that your mattress is not providing you with the necessary back support. You can consult your doctor on the type of back pain your are suffering from and get a mattress that can provide you with the proper support while you sleep.
2. Lose some weight
Losing weight can ease your back pain as with less weight on your body, your back will have less of a burden. As such, the pressure on your back as you sit or stand will be much less.
3. Exercise
Lack of exercises is one of the causes of back pain so it is time you make adjustments in your schedule to include activities such as swimming. You will also need to further protect your back by focusing on not bending your core excessively.
4. Use proper chair back support
If you need to sit for long periods each day, then ensure that you use proper chair back support. This will greatly help to ease your back pain and make you feel a lot better.
5. Get regular treatments
Even with the additional support for your back, you must also get the necessary treatments from your doctor. Do not assume that the pain will go away if you try to bear with it. Some serious cases might require surgery to get rid of the back pain so you should check with your doctor if you have been suffering from back pain for a long time. You do not want to end up with some serious infection that might just make you suffer even more.
By enduring the pain or simply hoping that the pain will go away after a while is not going to help ease your back pain. You should apply the tips above to make you feel better and always remember to seek medical help as soon as possible.

Electronic Cigarette The Atoxic Way To Drop Smoking by Mike Herold
Personally, I'm ideal much against smoking habit, possibly more than I needs to be for my ain life.
However, having known a lot of smokers to my life, I also know smoking is possibly the hardest, among humans poor habits, to pull you out of a hole. Therefore, meanwhile, when consumers smoke, you're damaging your health and that of any one around you, while stinking truly poor. Sorry, I don't want to turn my content in accusation.
Even I abominate smoking because is killing the guys who we care for, I understand how tricky is for a smoker with missing tobacco. In fact there exists a easyresolution - the electronic cigarette.
This is what I will propose you to test. Allegedly, the device seems to be a cigarette, palates like a cigarette, feels like a cigarette, but it is not a cigarette. There is no tobacco, and the smoke" is just harmless vapour. Yes, the smokers are happy - they will be able to "smoke" indoors even in public places where the cigarettes are banned
The Electronic Cigarette have, notwithstanding, the substance that makes you prejudiced and thus the main justification why buyers carry smoking: Nicotine. Au fond, the electronic cigarette can supply a true smoking experience lack of all of the of the revolting side-effects of usual tobacco smoking. And how, you may wonder, it is woking? When smokers inhale the electronic cigarette, a tiny battery gasifys fluid inside the cigarette to create the smoke-like vapor. In between, the Nicotine container will evolve nicotine to satisfy the withdrawal.
Depending on how heavy of a smoker you're, you are able choose between three alternatives of Nicotine chambers: Low, Medium and High. For the consumers who love smoking only for the act of smoking, they will be able to pick the None (0 mg) container. Smokers can as well pick from dissimilar flavors, just like in common cigarettes.
Most likely an electronic cigarette kit price is near 60 bucks and contains one cigarette, one or two rechargeable batteries, unremarkably 5 full-strength (sixteen milligrams) tobacco flavored patrons, a main charger adapter, a manual and a power lead. Most likely the electronic cigarette comes using a one-year warranty.
It's necessary to note that, when you smoke the electronic cigarette, the top of the cigarette additionally light up, not by flame but via an LED. The good news of this is that there is no ash and of course the cigarette will not become shorter. Each cartridge is equal to about 20 actual cigarettes.
Even heavy smokers easy get used to smoking electronic cigarette and don't make a difference. Many smokers already quit this detrimental habbit using electronic cigarette,so you could make it too.

12 Step Recovery by Michael Logan
12 Step Recovery has been a path to recovery for tens of thousands of addicts of every stripe since the mid-1930's. I have watched many folks walk the the 12 step recovery path successfully, and I have watched many fall from the path with tragic results.
I have watched many different people work the 12 steps at their own pace, with their own understanding of the language and requirements, and achieve their own version of recovery.
I think continued practice of the steps reveals deeper understandings of personal spiritual truths, so as they say at meetings, keep coming back and keep practicing the steps.
Early in my experience of the steps, the 11th step was extremely important, as I could change my body from stressed to relaxed with a prayer, and the phrase "Gratitude is the Attitude" helped me remember and still helps me to remember that many are far worse off than I am.
While the Promises of AA were very helpful to read, for a long time, while I hoped for them to manifest in my life, I was simply doing a 12 step recovery program to not get drunk again.
Gradually I began to realize that not getting drunk again was different than creating recovery. The prior strategy was fear based, stress hormone based, requiring constant vigilance for the slightest sign of relapse, while the latter strategy was hopeful, excited, curious, open, affiliative, and cooperative, ready to do some 12th step work when asked and so forth.
And other steps began to take on some depth for me.
For example, I began to understand that the amends steps were not about apologies, they were about accountability, about the choices I made and the consequences I created for others.
Later on, I realized that the 12th Step was about offering choice, rather than indicating that I was the bearer of divine truth, so hopefully you are getting a sense of how your experience of 12 Step recovery can mature through regular practice.
In my efforts to stay sober, I looked at many authors and many tools to enhance my 12 step recovery program, and I think that is a good idea.
Most recently, in the last couple of years I have discovered information about two capacities of the human brain, one of which was undiscovered when I began this journey, and that capacity is called neurogenesis,or the daily growth of new neurons, and while there was information available about neuroplasticity, or the brains ability to reorganize itself within minutes of learning something new, that capacity of the human and the 12 Step Recovery Process is really getting studied now.
So guess what folks, I am learning how to attend to the Pillars of Brain Fitness so that my neurogenesis and neuroplasticity are maximized.
What are the pillars of brain fitness and how do they coincide with a 12 step recovery program?
The pillars of brain fitness are physical exercise, nutrition, including lots of omega 3 fatty acid and antioxidants, sleep, stress management, and novel learning experiences.
The more I take care of my brain, like work it out, the better it does with a 12 step recovery program.
And then of course, you learn that relapse and recovery and attitudes of gratitude and emotions and prayers happen at least twice as fast as you can blink your eyes, which is 1/10th of a second, so you recommit to your brain fitness and your recovery program thought by thought and heart beat by heart beat, and you become more confident that you will stay aware and choosing wisely about your thoughts and feelings.
So maybe you have never thought of a 12 step recovery program occurring in increments as brief as heart beats or thoughts, and you would like to use some tools that give you some practice in that arena.
Well the scientists are helping out with that, providing us with some excellent computerized brain fitness tools which fit nicely in the novel learning experience of brain fitness.
Not only have the scientists uncovered neuroplasticity and neurogenesis tools, but they are refining brain wave and heart rate variability tools which can help us explore 12 step recovery in cycles per second, which is the speed at which brain waves are measured, or heart beat by heart beat, which is the rate at which heart rate variability is measured.
So I can use technology to amplify a 12 step recovery path? Sure can. Research is showing that our brains are incredibly plastic, and if one part is damaged, another part can take over the function of the damaged part, so do your steps and take care of the pillars of brain fitness.

Different Types Of Medical Diagnostic Imaging by Kathryn Dawson
Diagnostic imaging is an umbrella term for a wide variety of scans, examinations and images that are used in the field of medicine. Technology today is extremely advanced and now physicians can call upon a variety of imaging techniques to help examine the inside of the body and therefore make an accurate diagnosis. Scans and images of the body can enable a host of health problems and abnormalities be seen that might otherwise go unnoticed as symptoms of serious illness does not always appear immediately. For anyone wishing to know more about the different type of diagnostic imaging used today and how they can help a patient, this article is for you.
Radiologic technology
This is much more commonly known as X-ray technology, and this is probably the most well known type of image taken of the body. A radiologic technologist is responsible for carrying out x-ray examinations, a procedure where a small dose of radiation passes through the body, some of the rays being absorbed as they go and all traveling at different speeds. These rays are projected onto special film which produces an image of the inside of the body. X-rays are most commonly used to look for fractures and broken bones although other conditions can be spotted from an X-ray. If a doctor notices something unusual in an X-ray then usually a further test such as an MRI scan or CT scan may be carried out. None of these are invasive procedures, and the patient can receive them on an outpatient basis. Scans such as these are often undertaken following a serious accident or trauma.
Ultrasound technology
Usually an ultrasound is the imaging solution for examining fetuses within the womb. Ultrasound technology can view body structures in a way that X-rays cannot and provides a clearer and more in depth picture. Although pregnancy is a common reason for using ultrasound technology, it can also be used to examine the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and internal organs within the body.
CT Scans
Also known as CAT Scans, these are a more advanced type of scan that can be used to examine the whole body from the brain to the ligaments. It too uses radiation in the same way that traditional X-rays do, however the multitude of images that get taken are processed by CT software to provide doctors with a 3D image of the body. In this way it is a very effective type of scan, capable of detecting most serious illnesses including the majority of cancers and tumors. It is a non-invasive procedure just like the X-ray and is particularly appropriate and often the imaging solution for anyone who has been involved in a serious trauma where there are no outward signs of serious injury. Internal bleeding or swelling of the brain could easily have occurred but would need a CT scan to detect.
MRI Scan
An MRI stands for magnetic resonance image and this too provides an incredibly accurate and effective way of scanning the body. Rather than using X-rays, an MRI consists of creating a magnetic field through which radio waves travel to the area of the body being examined. This makes the nuclei of the atoms in the specific region emit energy which can be detected by a computer. An image is created on the computer that can then be interpreted by a radiologist.
There are further examples of medical diagnostic imaging that are used every day by doctors throughout the world. There is no doubt that medical imaging solution technology plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from serious illness. Scans such as those outlined above are important components of oncology solutions in particular as they may enable the cancer to be caught early and therefore treated more successfully. Scanned images coupled with modern technology and software are an efficient and reliable way to clearly see the interior of the body and are increasingly assisting medical teams in carrying out successful diagnoses and treatment.

Healthy Weight Loss - Forget about Low - Fat and 'Lite' Snacks by John Anthony Vine
The massive diet and weight loss industry is not going to thank me for this piece of advice.
Those snacks on the supermarket shelves which are labelled 'lite' or 'lower in calories' will not really help your weight loss efforts.
One of the reasons is that there is no proper legal definition for their marketing terms.
Low-fat, 'reduced-calorie' and other such terms have little real meaning. These products might well have slightly fewer calories than similar 'ordinary' ones, but the difference is not such as to make a real difference.
To make things worse, research has shown us that when we eat foods which we believe to be less fattening, we do tend to eat more of them anyway.
These 'lite' versions of popular foods almost always have an inferior flavour and sometimes cost more as well!
A great rule I have tried to stick to is called the 80/20 rule. For four snacks out of five, eat naturally low calorie food, such as fruit, vegetables and popcorn. You could also try cottage cheese on wholegrain crackers or salad in wholemeal pitta bread. There are many books offering plenty of similar ideas.
For the one in five, treat yourself to one of your 'ordinary' favourites.
Eating fruit instead of a bought slimming snack can also go a long way towards your 'five a day'.
Use a little imagination and you can walk past the slimmers shelves in the supermarket. Eat things you can really enjoy and still continue on your way to healthy weight loss.
Be always on the look out for ideas to encourage you on you way to the weight loss you really want.
The supermarkets do not really want to help you to lose weight.

Healthy Weight Loss - Do Not Forget About the Calories You Drink by John Anthony vine
While reducing the number of calories you eat can really help your weight loss efforts, it is too easy to ignore those calories you drink every day.
Be aware of exactly when you might sabotage your diet with what you drink.
We all know that fresh fruit juice is very good for you and can count as part of your 'five a day'.
What many of us do not realise is that these glasses of healthy drinks also contain calories. This can sometimes amount to up to 100 calories per glass!
It is suggested that you limit yourself to one glass of fruit juice a day. You could also mix it half and half with water.
Do you really need two spoons of sugar in every cup of tea or coffee? A great way to avoid these extra calories is to slowly reduce the amount of sugar (or sweetener) and grow to like the taste of your beverage. I did this over a number of weeks and was very surprised how I not only did not need the sugar, but eventually found it far too sickly. I did find though, that I needed about a quarter of a spoon of sugar in strong coffee for a few months before completely cutting it out.
The really unnecessary calories are those in fizzy soda drinks. Once again, it might be a good idea to gradually replace them, with still or carbonated water. This is a double whammy, because the dentist will confirm that your teeth will also benefit from not being constantly washed in sugary water.
When each of these changes is a regular part of your habits, your whole system will feel the benefit.
Being aware of these 'rogue' calories entering your body is the first step to making healthy changes to what you eat and drink.
When deciding how to make improvements to your healthy diet, be on the look out for little tips and ideas [out] which have helped others to achieve what you want to do.
Treating your body better will reward you over and over again.

You Too Can Have Sexy Arms With Resistance Exercise by Frank Hurley
How to lose arm fat!
Are you ready to have slim and toned arms that look good in sleeveless tops like the woman in pink on the right side of this page. Click on the link in the About the Author box below.
If you have extra weight on your upper arms then you don't look forward to spring or summer because those 2 seasons are when you are wearing clothes that bare your arms and you are wearing bikini's. There are alternatives for you if you have fatty upper arms and here they are.
Three Ways to deal with your flabby arms
1. You could just say I have fatty arms and I don't really care and wear whatever you choose.
2. You also have the option of covering your arms up all summer long even if it means sweating and discomfort.
3. If you really want to look great and attractive you can use resistance exercise to tone and shape your upper arms.
How to get toned Upper Arms
There is no point in doing exercises for flabby arms if you have so much fat in that area that you are not going to be able to see the muscles you build. To tone your arms you will need to do 2 things. Decrease your body fat and exercise you upper arms.
Remember this, each and every day if your consumption of calories is less than before you will lose body fat. Here is 1 way to reduce your body fat. 3 days a week do at least 30 minutes of exercise.
With regular exercise and a sensible weight reduction diet you should be able to lose two to 3 pounds per week. Keep in mind that the more overweight you are the longer it will take you to get rid of your flabby arms.
Check your progress along the way as you drop pounds. As the weeks go by you will look better and better and this is a great incentive for you to continue to lose weight and tone up your arms.
Various Exercise Options
One sign of out of shape upper arms is that the triceps are not toned. To get your flabby arms in shape you need to workout the triceps. One set of 5 pound dumbbells is all you need to get your triceps in great shape. If you don't have dumbbells and money is tight then use two full gallons of milk. You can use the dumbbells or two gallons of milk for the following exercises.
An effective workout for you upper arms is kickbacks and extensions. You should plan to do three sets of 10 each exercises at 3 times per week. Another method, if you have a gym membership, or choose to join one, is to do your exercises there using the machines that will exercise your triceps.
If you add push-up's and chin ups you will speed up toning your arms. Swimming or using a rowing machine can also do a lot to tone up flabby arms.
Don’t expect Overnight Results
Look at reducing your flabby arms and the exercises as part of your daily routine and you will begin to see results in a few short weeks or less. However, do not expect to have toned looking arms overnight.
It may take from a few weeks up to a few months of sensible eating, aerobic exercises and resistance work on your triceps before you attain your goal. The flabbier your arms are the longer it is going to take to tone them up.
The secret is to not get discouraged just because you do not see instant results. If you are unrelenting and follow your everyday program you will accomplish your goal.
Set modest attainable goals and observe your advancement at each goal as you attain it.
On a regular time frame picture yourself with slim and toned arms with a sleeveless dress on going out on the town. Visualize yourself at the beach in a swimsuit and how you will feel being slim and trim with beautiful arms.
When you do your daily routine in a determined and positive manner you will be able to picture yourself like this.
"I have Great looking and shapely arms and I am proud of myself"

Cleaning Is Equal To Exercise by Nick Vassilev
If you have trouble motivating yourself to get down to the intensive cleaning we all need to do from time to time, consider this: you can burn quite a few calories by doing housework and raise your heart rate. Some medical bodies consider a session of housework to be the equivalent of a light to moderate aerobics workout - and it's easy on the joints, too.
So if you consider house cleaning to be a workout, what muscle groups will you be using and toning while you get your house clean? And what are some ways that you can improve the toning and calorie-burning potential of your routine tasks?
Washing dishes: This doesn't work too many muscles, apart from using the triceps for scrubbing very stubborn dirt off saucepans and the like. However, while you're standing at the sink, you can spend the time doing calf stretches (standing on tiptoe then lowering yourself), leg curls and buttock clenches.
Hanging out laundry: Carrying out the laundry basket works the biceps, while pegging washing out stretches the triceps and upper back. Bending over to pick laundry out works the lower back. Depending on your technique, you can either use the bending down to pick up pegs/clothes part of the work to stretch the hamstrings (knees straight bend) or the glutes and quads (squatting down to pick up items).
Dusting: Mostly upper body stretches. However, if you have to reach high surfaces, you will be using a step-stool or chair to reach. This works the thighs and buttocks. To increase the calorie burning (and fun) potential of this chore, put on dance music and add a few hip swivels or shimmies while you work.
Window cleaning: Great for toning the arms, upper back and chest muscles.
Vacuuming: A whole-body workout, particularly if you bend down to use an attachment to get into tricky corners. If you have to move furniture around or go up and down stairs, then this is an extra workout bonus.
Washing floors: Using a mop works the upper body, especially the triceps. However, for a really intense workout - and a very clean floor, use an old-fashioned scrubbing brush on your hands and knees (works the arms and shoulders) then dry the floor by scooting around it using thick towels folded under your feet to work the thighs and buttocks. Every bit as good as a treadmill or glider, but cheaper and gets your floor shining. If you're particularly keen, you can also use this method to polish and buff floors to a very high shine. Some people swear by polishing floors with thick old socks on their feet.
Scrubbing baths, etc. Mostly works the arms. However, if you squat to reach low-down places, this works the inner thighs and buttocks. Scrubbing baths can also require you to get into some awkward positions to reach every part of it - hold that pose!
General picking up. Alternate between straight-leg bending (the old-fashioned touching your toes move) and squatting to reach stray items to stretch the hams, and work the quads and buttocks. If you collect items to be put away in a basket, you will also work the biceps carrying this around the house.

Do Air Purifiers Really Work? by Alex Webster
A decade back, we used to think that the air outside is polluted whereas, the air we breath in inside our homes is fresh and clean and pure. This is as far removed from truth as possible. The air inside your rooms, nowadays, is perhaps as dangerous and lethal and polluted as the air outside.
There is a huge range of irritants floating about in our home air such as chemical detritus that become air borne through the use of toxic household products, air borne allergens and pollen which contaminate our home air. It is therefore imperative that you invest in good quality air purifiers and air cleaners for the safety and good health of your family.
In this article I will discuss some of the basic health benefits of having an IQAir HealthPro air purifier/air filter in your home.
Get rid of foul odors
