It doesn't make good sense to encourage people to go vegetarian yet having your pot belly sticking out at your mid-section. You want to sound convincing in your going-vegetarian campaign, you need to reverse the negative impression you leave on others, that is, lose your belly fat.
Doing crunches and sit-ups is never the solution to lose belly fat. Undergoing a vegetarian weight loss diet that only restricts your calories and gives you just that small list of foods you can eat is not the ultimate solution too. You need these 3 things to effectively lose your belly fat and flatten your "vegetarian" tummy.
Belly Fat Loss Tip 1 - Discipline
Being discipline is not about exercising will-power to help you overcome the harsh dieting condition. By discipline, I mean you must make the right vegetarian food choices at all times. With so many "deliciously" fried and sodium-laced vegetarian foods around, losing your grip is no surprise.
Take this - look at other flat tummies and look at yours in the mirror, and keep telling yourself that you want to get rid of this ugly paunch. This will, in turn, motivate you to lose belly fat.
Belly Fat Loss Tip 2 - Nutrients
Nutrients are what your body needs to boost metabolism and burn calories. Without a full range of nutrients, your body can't stay metabolically active at all time. You may lose belly fat and lose weight initially with a fixed group of vegetarian weight loss foods, but you'll soon reach a weight loss plateau. That's because your body doesn't receive all essential nutrients it needs to function at its peak.
The most common nutrients vegetarians lack are those that come from vegetables. Vegetables are particularly effective on losing stomach fat. That said, increase your veggie intake now if you want to lose belly fat. Oh, don't forget to cut back on your processed vegetarian food, particularly the high-sodium, high-sugar and high-fat textured vegetable protein (TVP).
Belly Fat Loss Tip 3 - Total Body Ab Workouts
Don't waste your time doing 500 crunches and 1000 sit-ups. They only ache your tummy instead of sculpting your midsection. Use total body ab workouts like cross-body mountain climbers, chops, mountain climbers, spiderman climbs, jumping jacks, pushups, elevated pushups etc that will lose your belly fat more effectively.
To recap, you need good discipline to carry out your nutrient-rich vegetarian weight loss diet plan that includes a total body fat-burning workout targeting on losing tummy fat. With these 3 things at work together, I promise you'll lose belly fat over the next 2 weeks or so - at least 1 inch off your waistline.

I've seen people struggling with becoming vegetarian and many of them failed. The trick in becoming vegetarian lies in the necessary steps you need to take. I would say you don't really need such a strong will-power to succeed, but you do need to have some for your initial transition. Let me show you.
First off, you must recognize that when you fail in your mission to becoming a vegetarian, it's not your fault. Neither is it due to your weak determination. How long have you been sticking with a meat diet? 20 years? 30 years?
It's impossible for a smoker to quit his 30-year smoking habit and become a non-smoker overnight, let alone a meat eater stopping his 30-year meat intake habit cold turkey for the quest of a vegetarian lifestyle. It's the craving for meat though, rather than an addiction. But you can definitely overcome that craving, once you know how.
How to Phase Out Meat
The key lies in taking steps progressively to eliminate meat one by one, instead of trying to quit all meats or as many meats as possible in the least amount of time. Your craving will become worse if you try to become a vegetarian fast. So, how to do that? (You'll learn the 7 effective steps at the author-bio resource below.)
How to Relieve Your Meat Cravings
Next, give yourself some time to get used to more vegetarian food as your taste buds are most likely to "seek" meat texture at times. For some people, I would suggest them to go with textured vegetable protein (TVP) to satisfy their meat cravings. TVP is a meat-like vegetarian food. Some people call it "fake meat" or "mock meat". This can be one effective tactic to becoming vegetarian. But if you don't like TVP, then I suggest that you go with whole natural foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains etc instead. That's a better option.
Will Becoming Vegetarian Make You Lose Weight?
One thing worth mentioning is, don't think that your health will improve and you'll lose weight (if you're overweight) once you become a vegetarian.
It largely depends on what you eat and do with your vegetarian lifestyle. For example, if you go with highly processed vegetarian food infused with sugar, sodium and chemical additives, plus you continue to lead a sedentary lifestyle, your health is going to suffer as a result, even though you've become a vegetarian.
Of course, no matter what you eat as a vegetarian, you're much better off than eating meat since meat-eaters are always at higher risk for degenerative diseases, cancers and other deadly illnesses due to the toxins and killer bacteria (like E. Coli) carried in animal carcasses. You don't see many vegetarians got admitted to hospitals with cancers, kidney failure, heart attack and stroke, do you?
That's the reason why more and more people are transitioning to a (healthy) vegetarian diet as they know about the health benefits of vegetarianism. What's more, you can help save the world by minimizing the impact of global warming via becoming vegetarian. Now how cool is that?
Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet - 5 Things You Must Know to Lose Weight with Vegetarian Diet by Laura Ng
What vegetarian diet are you eating for weight loss? If you're not getting amazing results from that, then you should take note of what I'm going to show you. Not all vegetarian diet will help you lose weight effectively. The diet needs to carry all sorts of essential nutrients as well as the special weight loss ingredients to serve the purpose. In short, an effective vegetarian weight loss diet should achieve these 5 things for you:
1. Give you all essential nutrients your body needs to perform its daily tasks and functions. Our body is made up of trillions of cells. If you don't give what they need, they'll not perform at full tank. They control everything in our body, including metabolism that controls and manages your weight.
2. Make you feel full easily. A successful vegetarian weight loss diet should fill you up easily with its fiber-rich ingredients and foods, so you'll lose all the cravings for sugar and other high-calorie processed vegetarian foods that make you fat.
3. Make you feel full longer. Again, it's the fiber at work. Fiber is hard to digest and hence able to help you stay satisfied over longer hours.
4. Help you burn more calories than the calorie content of the food itself. This requires your food to contain both complex-carb and fiber to get the effect. Complex-carb takes longer to break down than simple-carb food, and fiber helps to slow down the digestion even more. Hence, your vegetarian weight loss foods in your diet plan should bear these 2 vital components.
5. Help you remove waste EVERY DAY. Whenever I get bogged down with work and try to eat as conveniently as I could without due consideration for the quality of food, I'll have a hard time clearing my waste and having my lower tummy sticking out unsightly. Instead of every day, sometimes it took 2 - 3 days to detox. Learning that, I started to choose my vegetarian diet very carefully even during my busy period. And my bowel moves 1 - 2 times daily and flattens my tummy every day. It's the fiber at work again.
In a nutshell, your vegetarian weight loss diet should contain 30 - 35 grams of fiber daily from various ingredients - not just sticking to a small group of food. This way you'll also absorb many other important vitamins and minerals your body needs for proper bodily and metabolic functioning. Oh, don't forget to drink enough water to soften your stool and let it pass out smoothly.

The Eat Your Colors Diet was created by Marcia Zimmerman, a nutritionist. This diet is associated with Ayurvedic medicine, a system of traditional medicine native to the Indian subcontinent whose components include herbs, massage, and yoga. As you may guess from its name, food colors play a major role in this diet. The accent is placed on yellow, red, and green foods.
According to Ayurvedic medicine and this diet, individuals belong to one of three groups, Vata (yellow), Pitta (red), and Kapha (green). Each group is associated with a distinct body type and personality type. For example, Kaphas don't talk a lot and tend to store excess weight on their butt. Each group has a different list of foods to privilege and foods to avoid. For example, Vatas should avoid caffeine and excessive alcohol while Pittas should avoid lamb, duck, and several other foods. The list of foods to privilege is really complicated; it is broken down into colors; it varies from group to group. Obviously, if you are going to follow this diet you have to determine which is your group and then learn a long list of dos and donts.
A major advantage of the Eat Your Colors Diet is its reliance on fruits and vegetables. You won't lack for vitamins or fibers. On the other hand, this diet is complicated, even for a single person. The food situation may really get out of hand if family members belong to different groups.
Here are two sample menus: Menu 1 (Vata) Breakfast: A bowl of oatmeal, one skim-milk yogurt, a half cup of strawberries, and a glass of tomato juice. Lunch: Sole and vegetable couscous. Supper: Hard boiled egg salad with radishes and cucumbers. A slice of whole grain bread. A glass of soy milk.
Menu 2 (Pitta) Breakfast: A slice of whole grain bread, one skim-milk yogurt, and a glass of mango juice. Lunch: A bowl of pea soup, a slice of whole grain bread, green salad with cucumbers and olive oil. A glass of soy milk. Supper: A green salad. A small plate of noodles with vegetables drizzled with olive oil. A cup of red beans.
Some of the information in this article comes from a fascinating new book, La Bible des Regimes, written by Jenny de Jonquieres and published by Amerik Media. Her book describes more than 80 diets and weight reduction programs. Each diet is presented with 5 menu plans, a detailed discussion of its advantages and disadvantages, and lots more. La Bible des Regimes is presently available only in French. For more information consult the publisher's website.
In the past, glasses and contact lenses were really only the available options for those with eye problems and poor vision. Fortunately, times have changed and with the advent of laser eye surgery a host of degenerative eye conditions can be helped now. Eye surgery is generally a very quick and painless procedure, and often results can be instantaneous. It might even mean that the patient can throw away their glasses or contact lenses for good. For those looking to learn more about the different eye treatments available and what conditions can be cured or improved, then this article will help.
LASIK surgery is the most common type used. This is the ideal surgery for correcting common eye problems such as myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness) and astigmatism (irregular shaped cornea) in particular. The procedure is extremely quick, the results are instant and healing time is extremely short. Patients often report feeling back to normal the following day with vastly improved sight. The results from having this procedure are long lasting too and it provides an affective alternative to wearing corrective glasses continuously.
Another common procedure is LASEK surgery. This is more suitable for those with relatively uncomplicated eye problems or for those who have thin corneas and therefore unable to undergo LASIK surgery. The lasers used in the surgery work to reshape the surface of the cornea thereby correcting the refractive problem in the eye. Although the procedure is simple and designed for correcting relatively minor problems, it takes a few days before improvement to vision is seen and can take a little while longer for patients to recover fully. Just like LASIK surgery however it is a very effective form of treatment with minimal risk and long lasting results.
Laser eye surgery is particularly affective in the battle against degeneration of sight caused by eye glaucoma and cataracts. Glaucoma develops through pressure within the eye. It develops slowly, over the course of many years but can lead to blurred vision, double vision and even blindness. It can be very damaging however treatment that is administered early can prevent further degeneration of the sight. It has a high success rate even in older patients and can dramatically increase a person's quality of life.
Cataracts are caused by the clouding of the lens in the eye. Although minor cases can often be dealt with by the use of eye drops or glasses, over time or as the condition worsens, often cataract surgery is the best course of action. This is a procedure to replace the lens of the eye with an artificial one which will restore vision and remove the problem altogether. This type of surgery has a very high success rate and can lead to completely restored sight.
To sum up then, surgical eye treatments in most cases are painless. They are also safe and quick and can be used to restore a whole variety of problems. LASIK surgery may provide a virtually instant cure for conditions such as myopia and hyperopia with patients in most cases having restored vision the very next day following surgery. LASEK surgery is also extremely safe and successful and a better option for patients with thin corneas but who need treatment for similar conditions. Eye glaucoma is a very serious condition that is treatable with surgery and although lost sight from the condition cannot be restored, treatment can prevent further degeneration. Treatment can also successfully be used to remove cataracts by surgically replacing the clouded lens and thus restoring full sight. It is no longer necessary to suffer in silence when it comes to eye conditions and problems. The advancement in technology and the procedures available today, such as cataract surgery, ensure that there are many conditions that can be cured through laser eye surgery.
Acupressure Massage Therapy from a Licensed Massage Therapist or LMT Helps Calm Dementia by Chris Lontok
The most effective acupressure massage therapy can be availed of only through a licensed massage therapist or LMT. Such acupressure massage therapy can be used to soothe the agitation and aggression of patients with dementia.
Restlessness and anger are common characteristics of patients with dementia. They show anti-social behaviour and can become violent at times. They act without logic. If left without supervision they tend to wander and could get lost. Alzheimer’s Disease is one case of dementia.
A study showing how acupressure calms the aggression of patients with dementia was done in Taiwan and published in the Journal of Clinical Nursing. The study observed 31 participants, all of whom were patients afflicted with dementia coming from a nursing home. During the first four weeks of treatment, the patients received 15 minutes of acupressure massage therapy twice a day, five days a week. During the second four weeks of treatment, the patients received daily 15 minute visits from the researchers who talked to them.
Results of the study showed that acupressure massage therapy produced more immediate results and was more effective in comforting and calming down patients with dementia as compared to just talk. During the four weeks of acupressure massage therapy, the patients showed decreased instances of aggressive behaviour overall.
These results were consistent with those of another study which has proven that touch therapy can soothe the agitation of people with dementia. The common factor between touch therapy and acupressure massage therapy is the human touch.
Acupressure combines elements of acupuncture and massage and has always been part of traditional Chinese medicine which is several thousands of years old. While acupuncture uses needles, though, acupressure is done with the bare hands, fingers, knuckles and even elbows of the therapist, sometimes assisted by blunt devices.
Traditional Chinese medicine maintains that the life force called qi flows throughout the body to maintain optimum health. It flows through 14 primary meridians which have 400 to 500 points called acupoints. Blockages along the meridians cause illness. Acupuncture releases blockages by inserting very fine sterilized needles in the affected acupoints. Acupressure on the other hand releases blockages by applying pressure on the affected acupoints.
Western medical science does not recognize the theory of qi, and believes that the meridians and the acupoints do not have any anatomical basis. Even if Western medicine cannot explain how acupressure massage therapy works, though, it cannot be denied that results of scientific study prove its therapeutic effects. In the abovementioned study, for example, acupressure massage therapy was shown to be able to calm the aggression of patients with dementia.
Aside from providing proper acupressure massage therapy, a licensed massage therapist or LMT can also provide many other massage therapy modalities. These include reflexology massage therapy, shiatsu massage therapy, craniosacral massage therapy, deep tissue massage therapy, sports massage therapy and pregnancy massage therapy. Because licensed massage therapists often care for clients who have met vehicular accidents, it is not unusual to find a licensed massage therapist who does insurance billing for people in auto accidents.
Hair Removal has been part of our society for thousands of years. This article explores the different options available to you, from shaving, waxing, depilating and electrolysis to name a few.
Here are some of the most common forms of hair removal:
Epilating: A non-electric version would be your tweezers, but the process of removing hair in this manner can not only painful, but it can be time consuming. Electric epilators work by plucking several hairs at once. The result, a little more pain, but it’s over relatively quickly.
Threading: A piece of cotton thread is held and looped between the fingers; the loops are used to trap the unwanted hair and then pulled out of the skin. Its popularity is gaining, though it can be difficult to find a qualified practitioner of threading. The pain level is similar to that of epilating.
Depilating: A cream, lotion or spray, usually chemical based, is applied to the skin liberally and wiped off after you’ve waited a specified amount of time. The results can be patchy at best, and often leave your skin with a strange feel (not to mention a funny smell). Patch testing is essential as depilatories can and do cause allergic reactions.
Waxing: A thin layer of melted wax is applied to the skin, covered by a strip of muslin cloth, and then yanked away in the opposite direction of the growth, pulling the hair out by its roots. This procedure can be done at home or in a salon, and it is relatively painful. If you don’t know what you’re doing you can end up with a lot of bruising.
Sugaring: Sugaring temporarily removes hair, and uses organic or all natural products (sugar) which are liberally applied to the skin, then pulled off in a single quick movement. Naturally, it is painful, you are, after all, yanking the hair out by its roots. However it is slightly less painful than waxing, as the wax adheres to the skin as well as to the hair.
‘Permanent’ Hair Removal: Permanence is relative. There’s permanent, as in forever and ever till the day you die. And then there’s the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s definition of permanent. How it applies to hair removal is this: Laser hair removal clinics are only permitted to state that they Permanent Hair Reduction.
Electrolysis: Electrolysis is a process whereby a practitioner inserts a very slender probe (okay, it’s a needle), usually made of stainless steel, into individual hair follicles. Then a tiny burst of heat energy is delivered down the shaft of the probe. One hair follicle dead – only a million more to go. No, that’s not just hyperbole, there are, on average, 5 million hairs on the human body (and only about 100,000 of them are on your head!). Every square inch of skin has between 700 and 1,000 hair follicles. What is also not hyperbole is that the electrolysis process is tedious.
And, depending on your tolerance level, the sessions can be quite painful. Some people liken electrolysis to being stung by a nettle, but after the hundredth “STING!” it would certainly get sore, not to mention annoying. Electrolysis often takes many weekly treatments, over a course of several months to several years. Electrolysis has been around for over 100 years, and has been pretty much replaced by laser hair removal as the 21st Century’s way to banish the fuzz.
Laser Hair Removal: According to consultingroom.com, laser hair removal is now the top non-surgical procedure in the UK and Ireland today. Laser hair removal is a technique that provides, as the FDA likes to say, permanent hair reduction. That’s not to imply that it couldn’t remove all of your hair, but that you should be aware that for some individuals it won’t be as effective as for other individuals.
To make use of your vegetarian diet to help you lose weight, you need to convert your normal sugar-laden, calorie-packed vegetarian diet into a genuine vegetarian weight loss diet. How? Just follow these guidelines.
Fat Loss Ingredients for Making a Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet
1. Fiber - Gives you the bulk and cleanses your colon by improving your bowel movement. In other words, fiber helps you detox, and with regular detox, you'll lose weight easily.
2. Complex-Carbohydrate - Together with fiber, foods high in complex-carb (good carb) break down more slowly, generating a steady stream of energy to help sustain your daily activities over long period. The moment your stomach empties, your metabolism will slow down to conserve energy. You need an active metabolism to constantly burn fat. Hence, eating foods high in complex-carb will keep you metabolically active throughout the day, and thus burn more body fat.
3. Protein - Helps to repair and rebuild more healthy cells. It is ultimately your cells that control metabolism. More healthy cells will accelerate your metabolism to help you lose more weight.
4. Fat - Good fat like virgin coconut oil will convert right into energy, just like carbohydrate. Moreover, it generates a thermogenic effect that boosts your metabolism. Having said that, virgin coconut oil is a must-have fat-burning fat in any vegetarian weight loss diet.
5. Chili - Same as virgin coconut oil, chili (like cayenne pepper) produces thermogenic response to increase your metabolism. But you should add it moderately to spice up your vegetarian weight loss diet. Too much can render health issues like acid reflux or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
6. Water - Helps to hydrate your body for optimal performance. Water also helps to stimulate metabolism too. And together with fiber, it helps to flush toxic waste out of your body. Avoid any sugared beverages. Drink adequate amount of plain water. But make sure you don't drink excessively or you can suffer from hyponatremia (water poisoning).
All in all, up your whole food portion in your vegetarian weight loss diet, and you should get plenty of these super nutrients to help you lose weight naturally and easily as a vegetarian.
How to Eat Your Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet to Lose Weight Effectively
1. 5 Meals a day - Split your 3 main meals into breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. This will keep your stomach busy and maintain your metabolism's active level.
2. 70 / 30 Rule - Never stuff your stomach to the brim. In your breakfast, lunch and dinner, keep your stomach 70% full only. As for your snack, make sure it only fills you up to 30 - 40% only.
3. New Recipe - Sticking to the same vegetarian weight loss meals for few days can easily cause nutrient deficiency. Nutrient deficiency may lead to weight loss plateau. Alter your meal plans in your vegetarian weight loss diet every day, where possible, to enable your body to absorb a broad spectrum of nutrients for optimal fat loss.
So, this is how you can make use of your vegetarian diet to help you lose weight, once you include these natural ingredients and the simple-to-follow eating guidelines.
There are about 6 types of olive oil available in the market - extra-virgin, virgin, pure, refined, olive-pomace oil and lampante oil. Because we're only interested in the health benefits of olive oil, we'll concentrate on its top 3 grades and help you see which one brings you the most health benefits.
Extra-Virgin Olive Oil - This type provides the highest quality among the three for the following reasons:
- Made from absolute mechanical means (i.e. no chemical processing takes place).
- Comes from the first "cold press". Meaning, oil from second and subsequent pressings are not included.
- Acidity level holds for less than 0.8% (some premium quality can go as low as 0.225%).
- Burst with highest amount of polyphenolic antioxidants that help you fight against free radicals in your body and prevent illnesses effectively.
- Packs a strong flavor and aroma - taste fruity and buttery.
Virgin Olive Oil - Same as extra-virgin grade, it's made from the "cold processing" method. But it's of lower quality due to:
- Made from the first "cold press" as in extra virgin olive oil but carries higher acidity level of up to 2%.
- Great taste but slightly inferior to that of extra-virgin grade.
Pure Olive Oil - The lowest quality among these three because:
- Mixture of refined and virgin / extra-virgin oil.
- Lacks strong flavor due to its much higher content of the flavorless and odorless refined oil (85%) than virgin oil (15%).
- Sometimes also known as just "Olive Oil".
Though pure olive oil bears only less than 1.5% acidity level (may seem better than some virgin grade), its overall nutritional values have fallen drastically in the chemical-bound refining process. The only advantage about this pure oil grade is its longer shelf life. I don't recommend you to buy this type of olive oil for health benefits.
If you can afford, I suggest extra-virgin oil to you. Alternatively, you can go with virgin grade. It may not seem as good as extra-virgin grade, but at least you're ingesting unrefined olive oil.
In conclusion, to gain the most health benefits from olive oil, I strongly recommend that you include extra-virgin oil as a vital dietary intake in your daily meals. Although it's pricier, it's definitely worth the investment as far as your health is concerned.
But take note though, never use extra-virgin oil for cooking since it's very sensitive to heat and light. My preferred use for this top-grade oil is only in salad or other raw or chilled foods. When it comes to cooking, you can use refined olive oil but it doesn't serve much health benefits for you.
There had been some arguments over the use of coconut oil for acne, that is, some got glimmering flawless skin after using coconut oil to treat acne while some suffered from acne breakout - worse than before! What actually happened?
First of all, when using coconut oil for acne treatment, make sure you use virgin coconut oil ONLY as it is non-comedogenic (i.e. it doesn't clog your skin pores). If you use any refined coconut oil, you can have your pores clogged up even worse.
Secondly, as coconut oil bears powerful anti-toxin components within its oil structure, you may experience what we commonly called the "healing crisis". For example in acne treatment, you may enjoy smoother skin in the first few days, but as the detox effect in the oil penetrates even deeper into your skin and push the toxins up to the surface, you may undergo an acne breakout, which could be worse than before you apply coconut oil to your skin.
Such unexpected "backfiring" could freak you out and make you think that coconut oil aggravates your acne problem, which in fact, coconut oil is proving its effectiveness in purging the toxins which have been built up underneath your skin for years.
The more toxins built-up, the longer it'll take for your acne-prone skin to heal.
However, for people especially housewives or those working at home, they're smart enough to know about the healing crisis occurring in acne treatment with coconut oil, and moreover they can stay at home without showing faces outside, so they get to stick to the end of the healing crisis and wind up enjoying what virgin coconut oil brings to them - an acne-free and flawless skin.
Here's a comment I extracted from a forum regarding the arguments over the breakout of acne after using coconut oil for acne treatment:
"The same thing happened to me with coconut oil. Started out with immediate improvement and then got terrible acne for about 4 weeks. I stuck with it and my skin is getting better every single day. I think I just had so much crap underneath my skin that it took a long time to purge it out. Now my pores are smaller than they've ever been and for the past 2 weeks I haven't had any new pimples and the ones I had are going away quickly." ~ Maja
There are a few more cases like that, which are the real-life experiences for using coconut oil for acne treatment. I suggest that you put a dab of coconut oil on the inside of your elbow area first to test for any allergic reaction. Wait for a whole day and observe for any unusual skin reaction. Allergy should take effect within a day.
Honestly, allergy to coconut oil is rare because coconut oil is classified as hypoallergenic (low allergy-risk) food. Many a time, a presumed coconut oil reaction like a skin rash is nothing more than the body expelling toxins, a cleansing reaction actually.
What I would recommend is, if you're working in an environment where meeting people is inevitable and you want to give coconut oil a natural shot to improve your acne problem, apply just a small amount every night before you sleep. Even when breakout, you won't get so much serious than many other people do. And of course, the toxin-purging effect will be slower and your skin will heal slower too.
On top of that, while the oil is detoxifying your body, during the period, eat more fresh fruits and veggies that contain plenty of natural skin-beneficial nutrients. Cut your meat intake totally as meat contains tons of toxins that may accumulate easily during the detoxification process and prolong the length of healing. Imagine when you're clearing the trash but yet someone is dumping more garbage into the trash, how fast do you think you'll empty the trash completely?
Also, include exercise as part of your skin detox to help sweat out those toxins so as to mitigate breakouts (if any). And keep your stress level as low as possible as stressful condition may trigger hormonal imbalance and lead to acne breakout too.
In other words, if you solely rely on coconut oil for treating acne but yet you're not executing any other supplementary actions to support the detoxification process, you'll probably suffer from a serious breakout that could last for weeks and delay your healing process.
Based on my personal experience with using coconut oil for my skin care, coconut oil does perform very well at removing built up toxins in my skin. The question is, are you game enough to leave your skin to coconut oil's care for a natural cleanse and detox where you might experience a breakout first before you get to enjoy beautiful, flawless and youthful skin? Think about it.
Several overweight vegetarians ask me, "What is the best vegetarian diet to lose weight?" Here's my answer - It should promote true fat loss (not water loss) and provide your body with all key nutrients for excellent health. Sadly, most vegetarian weight loss diets out there only come with the fat loss attribute. When it comes to keeping you healthy, they fail left and right.
Take the high-protein, low-carb vegetarian weight loss diet. It can cause embarrassment for you by making your mouth stink - you got bad breath (urgh!). It can also lead to poor concentration, headache, constipation etc. Hence, potentially harmful diet like this can never be the best vegetarian diet to lose weight.
I advocate healthy vegetarian weight loss, so I always recommend any overweight vegetarians to go with a vegetarian weight loss diet that includes lots of whole natural foods in its meal plan. Here's the sample vegetarian diet to help you lose weight:
In the morning, you'll take a fresh veggie smoothie (of ratio 3:2 - fruit to vegetable) added with 2 tbsp virgin coconut oil as your power breakfast - full of natural fiber, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
Then after about 2 - 3 hours, you'll eat a handful of mixed grains and nuts as morning snack to power you up further. At lunch, you'll eat a meal full of complex-carbohydrate, fiber and protein to replenish your energy and keep you energized for your afternoon job.
At about 3 - 4 P.M., you can feed your stomach with some fresh fruits like bananas, apple, dragon fruit etc as your afternoon snack to boost your metabolism for more fat burning.
At dinner time, you can have a rainbow salad or a self-made Portobello mushroom burger that includes high fiber which will kill your cravings for supper and last you till the following morning.
You see how nutritious all your vegetarian weight loss meals are? And did you notice the key ingredients in almost every meal? Yes, it's fiber. I can't believe that anyone who's serious about healthy weight loss can omit fiber in their vegetarian diet to lose weight.
Fiber gives you the bulk and slows down your food digestion so you won't feel hungry easily and won't likely eat more than your body needs. Fiber helps to improve your bowel movement for daily waste removal. That explains why you should include adequate fiber in your vegetarian diet to lose weight effectively and healthily.
In fact, for your vegetarian diet to lose weight more effectively with half the effort, you should apply some nifty tactics while savoring your vegetarian weight loss meals, such as:
1. Eat slower to prevent you from feeling stuffed after meal.
2. Always keep at a satiety level of 70% for your main meals and 30 - 40% for your snacks.
3. Drink adequate water for proper body hydration which can boost metabolism.
4. Increase your metabolism to burn more fat by engaging in exercises.
If you want to lose fat as a vegetarian the healthy way, then you should create a healthy vegetarian fat loss diet with these 3 ingredients in mind - natural, nutritious and delicious.
Natural vegetarian fat loss diet helps to reduce your toxic intake from processed vegetarian food. A toxic-free body will lose fat more effectively and efficiently. Feeding your body with all essential nutrients can help your body perform at its optimal condition to take care of your weight automatically. Making it delicious can motivate you to lose fat with the diet using half the effort.
Now you know why those 3 ingredients are so important in the making of healthy vegetarian fat loss diet. Let's get down to seeing what's inside the diet now.
Breakfast - Protein smoothie made from blending baby spinach, strawberries, blueberries, organic protein powder (GMO-free), whole wheat bread and virgin coconut oil.
Lunch - Veggie burger made from sandwiching pan-seared Portobello mushroom with wholegrain breads. Add alfalfa sprouts, butterhead lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers under the mushroom and then top the mushroom with vegan basil pesto sauce.
Dinner - Rainbow salad made from mixing fresh spinach leaves, sunflower seeds, shredded carrot, shredded beet, shredded apple, dried cranberries and dried apricots with virgin coconut oil plus olive oil as dressing.
These 3 are your regular healthy fat loss meals and carry the most weight in your vegetarian fat loss diet. That's why they contain the most nutrients, fiber and long lasting energy to keep you metabolically active throughout the day. Make sure you prepare them at the portion size that feeds your stomach to only 70% full. Keeping at this satiety level is optimum, from my personal eating experience.
That's not all. An effective vegetarian fat loss diet should also include 2 snacks where you'll insert one in between breakfast and lunch, the other in between lunch and dinner. Each of them should only make you feel 30 - 40% full. They are there to provide you with additional energy to boost your metabolism for continuous burning of fat. Hunger will slow down metabolism which can wreck your fat loss plan.
The snack can be as simple as a handful of mixed nuts, grains and seeds. Or you can eat mixed fruits of your favorite. Or mini pita bread stuffed with peanut butter and natural fruit jam. Let your creative juices flow.
What else can you do to make your vegetarian fat loss diet burn even more fat for you? Exercise. Relying solely on diet can take on a slow pace. Factoring in exercises will speed up your fat loss.
If you are a very successful medical practitioner, the only other thing you can ask for is a capable receptionist who can handle the demands of your medical practice. Your receptionist must be able to accomplish everything related to her job including registering new patients, keeping track of your schedules, monitoring your patients' medical records and personal information or demographics as well as providing you with a background regarding your next patient.
A competent medical receptionist must also be able to handle phone calls and inquiries from patients who want to schedule an appointment, cancel an appointment or follow up on test results. The list of what a receptionist does is almost endless. You can just imagine what she does to make your medical office run smoothly.
Of course, no matter how hard your receptionist tries to keep your medical office running smoothly, there are some things beyond her control which may cause your medical practice to hit some rough potholes. So if you want your front desk receptionist to keep her sanity, you may want to invest on an automatic medical receptionist.
A virtual medical receptionist can greatly improve the efficiency of your medical office. With it, the amount of job laid on the hands of your front desk receptionist is lessened in such a way that she wouldn't have to pour hours and hours over tons of paperwork anymore. Everything, from patients' medical records to appointment keeping, is all stored in your medical office's database.
An automatic medical receptionist will definitely prove to be a capable helper for your front desk receptionist. This software cam ne customized and can be developed with a built in scheduler that would allow your patients to schedule or cancel an appointment from the comfort of their home, with just a few strokes on their computer.
The virtual medical receptionist will act as your virtual medical office. All your patients need to do is log in and register to your medical practice's website. From there, they may do as they wish. They can set up an appointment and even state why they want an appointment. They can even choose the kind of insurance they have so they'll have an idea of how much they would need to pay you. So the only time they need to leave their homes is to go to your medical office on the appointed time and date. They can even call and set appointments after hours because an automatic medical receptionist is built with an answering machine and if their call is important, it will be patched through to your own mobile phone.
A virtual medical receptionist is not only cost effective but it will also help your receptionist efficiently carry out her job. An automatic medical receptionist will make life easier not only for you and your medical practice but also for you front desk receptionist and patients.
Do you still remember your vegetarian fat loss goal? Your goal is to shed the UNWANTED EXCESS FAT off your belly, thighs, buttocks and everywhere else around your body that makes you look ugly. So, you definitely need to uncover the secrets of true fat loss, not just weight loss. Here are the 7 vegetarian fat loss tips for highly effective fat loss. Apply them all and you'll find that losing fat as a vegetarian is actually not as difficult as you think.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #1 - Give Your Body What It Needs
Give your body all nutrients it needs to function optimally. Remove all processed vegetarian foods and beverages high in sugar, sodium and bad saturated fat from your vegetarian fat loss diet. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds - These are the natural foods you should eat instead for effective vegetarian fat loss. Omitting these nutrient-packed foods can result in fat loss plateau for vegetarians and making your excess storage fat hard to get rid of.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #2 - Fat Loss Foods for Vegetarians
Most vegetables and some fruits contain low calories, high fiber and complex-carbohydrate. These foods will make your body burn more calories than the calorie content in the food itself during digestion of the food, creating a calorie deficit (i.e. negative calorie).
Negative calorie vegetables - broccoli, spinach, beet, cabbage, celery, squash, tomato, turnips, watercress, peas, radish, eggplant, kale etc.
Negative calorie fruits - apples, apricots, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, orange, papaya, grapefruit, kiwifruit, lemon, lime, etc.
Eat more of these foods, plus various other whole grains and meals to obtain a balance of nutrients.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #3 - Hydration for Fat Loss
Sometimes dehydration can make you feel "hungry" and make you gobble down the unnecessary calories, which is a false alarm. Take a glass of water first, and if after 10 - 20 minutes your stomach still rumbles, then it's really time to eat.
By the way, drinking sufficient water can increase metabolism and help you burn fat using half the effort. But don't drink too much lest you get water poisoning (hyponatremia). Bear in mind.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #4 - Detox
Leaving waste in your body for too long can cause your storage fat difficult to break down for energy use. Hence, make time for toilet. I've not heard of any overweight vegetarians or non-vegetarians losing fat when they only defecate once in a week. Bowel cleansing is an automatic process when you consume enough fiber-rich food and adequate amount of water. Ideally, you should have your bowel movement once a day or better, 2 - 3 times daily.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #5 - Burn Fat with Fat
Whatever vegetable cooking oil you're using now, dispose of them now. Change to using coconut oil. You should only use olive oil in raw vegetarian fat loss meal. You heat it, you'll break its fatty acid structure and it'll turn rancid easily. Same goes for other vegetable oils.
But coconut oil doesn't break down easily. It holds primarily medium-chain saturated fat which generates thermogenic effect that boosts metabolism, not those unhealthy long-chain saturated fats (from other vegetable oils) which get stocked up in your fat cells easily. You'll lose fat with coconut oil. But choose virgin coconut oil for best fat loss effect.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #6 - Sleep to Lose Fat
It doesn't matter how many hours of sleep you should catch, so long as you feel rejuvenated after the sleep. That's it. But there's an optimal time to hit the sack to help your body get more fat burned. Studies show that our bodies go into repairing damaged cells and tissues during the period between 11 P.M. and 2 A.M. So, if you turn in before 11 P.M. at night, you'll get more damaged cells and tissues repaired.
Our body cells and tissues are the ones commanding the fat-burning system. More healthy cells and tissues means your metabolism will run at full speed.
Vegetarian Fat Loss Tip #7 - Fat Loss Exercise
High-intensity interval training burns more fat than low-intensity steady-state cardio exercise. If your body condition allows, pick up interval training. But check with your physician first before you engage in this high-intensity workouts.
Now you got the knowledge to achieve vegetarian fat loss effectively. Next, apply. Knowledge becomes power only when applied. Period.
Whether you're a vegetarian or not, your genes have little to do with your weight gain. What you eat is the main culprit. You've not been making wise vegetarian food choices all along and now you become overweight and desperately seeking weight loss solutions. All is not lost though. Here are the 5 vegetarian weight loss foods to help you achieve ideal weight as a vegetarian.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Food #1 - Carrot
Carrot is one of the best plant-based weight loss foods due to its low calorie but high nutritional content (such as vitamins A, C, beta carotene and fiber). Because of its abundant fiber, it fills you up easily, preventing you from heaping on excess calories.
Tip: Carrot is more nutritious when eaten cooked than raw as cooking breaks down its tough cellular walls. This enables your body to convert more beta carotene into vitamin A. Alternatively, you can blend carrots into juices but remember to drink the juices with the fiber.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Food #2 - Apple
Like carrot, apple is also relatively low in calories and high in fiber. You can eat one or two as one single meal but do not eat apples for all your meals. You need a balanced mix of all weight loss foods to obtain multiple vitamins and minerals for good health and effective fat loss.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Food #3 - Banana
Athletes favor bananas because banana contains high level of natural sugar which will release quickly into your bloodstream, thereby replenishing your energy levels within minutes.
The plus point is they do not add unwanted fat to your body while regulating blood pressure and boosting energy. Thus, you can take them as your ideal snack without the fear of gaining weight. You need energy for effective fat loss too.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Food #4 - Whole Grain Bread and Biscuits
I always choose whole grain bread and biscuits as they are rich in vitamin B, iron and fiber. The goodness of fiber, whether soluble or insoluble, is plentiful. Fiber not only gives you the feeling of fullness but also helps to prevent constipation by flushing out toxins from your body.
Fiber also stabilizes your blood sugar and controls your food cravings as it slows down your sugar absorption into your bloodstream. Thus fiber plays an extremely important role in your vegetarian weight loss diet. Keep your body free of toxins and you'll lose weight easily and naturally as vegetarian.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Food #5 - Chili
Chili is hot due to the presence of capsaicin. In fact, you may find this ingredient in many so-called effective "fat-burning" weight loss supplements. Capsaicin is good at increasing your metabolism, thereby helping your body to burn calories and fat. The hotter it is, the stronger the weight loss effect of capsaicin.
However, if you have a weak stomach, I advise you not to consume too much chili as it could upset your stomach easily, causing diarrhea or gastric pain. Moderation is the key to lose weight with chili.
I name out these 5 vegetarian weight loss foods just to give you an idea on how you can choose your food wisely to lose weight. There are in fact, hundreds of such foods out there waiting to help you sculpt your body shape and provide powerful nutrients your body needs to maintain excellent health.
You probably already know that eating and exercising are 2 effective ways to lose weight for vegetarians. But what kind of vegetarian weight loss diet will generate maximum fat loss and what type of exercise to do to get the best weight loss effect? We'll go into each of them later, and then at the end I'll show you the third way to lose weight vegetarian 10 times more effective than any other methods in the world. It's kind of challenging but if losing weight is what you want, then you'll find it rewarding.
What Diet to Eat to Lose Weight for Vegetarians?
Are you game enough to lose weight vegetarian with raw vegan diet? Vegan food doesn't include dairy and eggs - anything that associates with animals will be excluded! By the way, dairy and eggs carry certain amount of chemicals injected into the animal body during farming. And these chemicals could pose harm to your health, which in turn trigger metabolic disorder and hamper weight loss.
To make matter worse, you eat other processed vegetarian foods high in sugar, sodium and saturated fat, which explain why you gain weight easily, especially on your midsection.
Hence, a raw vegan diet with very minimal processing is the best and most effective way to help you lose weight vegetarian. You can begin with eating 10% raw and then progressively increase your raw intake to 20% and so forth. Your taste buds will probably get used to the raw flavor after 2 - 3 weeks, depending on individuals.
Warning: You can't eat certain vegetables and grains (like rice) in raw. For example, some vegetables such as buckwheat greens and parsnips require steaming or boiling to remove their toxic properties by nature. They won't kill you even if you eat them raw, but they may cause some skin problems or make you sensitive to light.
What Exercise to Do for Maximum Fat Loss?
Assuming you love cycling. Here's how to do to burn more fat with your bike. You start off with a normal pace at say, 15 miles an hour. You keep to that speed for 10 minutes as warm-up, then you increase the speed to 25 miles an hour and stay there for 2 - 3 minutes before you drop back to 15 miles an hour for another 5 minutes.
Simply put, low-high-low-high-low is the intensity pattern in interval training which is exceptionally effective and efficient to help you lose weight vegetarian. Include interval pattern in any form of exercise, and you're bound to lose more fat than those who're still doing "one-more, two-more…" monotonously in cardio exercise.
Warning: When you first begin interval training, as your muscles may have yet to condition to sustain such low-high intensity changes, make the transition gradual. Once you become seasoned with it, moving on from 3/10 straight to 8/10 intensity level should not pose a problem and risk injury easily.
Ultimate Best Way to Lose Weight for Vegetarians
Eating raw vegetarian diet promotes easy fat loss. Doing interval training helps burn more fat. What if you combine these 2 super techniques together? You're going to lose weight vegetarian so much effective than executing only one of them in your weight loss regimen.
It's common sense to combine them into one, I know! But how many overweight vegetarians will do them both? Honestly, I'm leaving the ball in your court now. To make or break your vegetarian weight loss success, you have the final say.

Self help stress is very doable. The stress response is what my body does when it perceives a threat. (Perception happens in the brain).
Back when this particular physiology was being selected because it helped humans survive, stress chemistry was needed inside the body to help it fight for its life, run for its life, or freeze in hopes of sustaining its life.
Most of those ancient stress situations lasted just a few minutes, and if successful in the survival activity, humans rested for awhile until the stress physiology went away.
If not successful, then there was no need to worry about stress management.
According to John Gottman,Ph.D. in his the Art and Science of Love workshop, men need about 20 minutes to clear stress hormones and neurotransmitters, and Gottman recommends that a key piece of that process is paying attention to what he calls 'justified victim' thoughts.
Victim thoughts keep the stress physiology going, and a key piece of any relaxation process is changing the thinking to changing the feeling.
However, we in the United States have perverted the stress response a bit, keeping it going inside our body to increase productivity and income, which is a successful strategy for only a bit.
In fact, I remember reading about Barry Sterman's research with the real Navy Top Gun pilots which indicated that the pilots who were most successful at that training were the pilots who moved into beta brain waves associated with focused external attention into alpha brain waves associated with relaxed external focus and back again easily and quickly.
In other words, the pilots who were most successful in this serious training were those who regularly relaxed for short periods of time in the middle of their very stressful training.
Brainwaves cycle quickly, in cycles per second, so self help stress management should involve a practice which teaches us to manage the inside of your body in quick bursts.
In other words, while the phone is ringing, and I am typing on my keyboard, and my children want to eat, and the cat needs to be fed, and is looking to me for that, I can generate a relaxed physiology with a deep breath, a quick visualization of a mountain meadow with stream, and a breeze, and change my physiology from stress hormones to DHEA, the anti-aging hormone.
I only need to hold it for a short time for the stress to begin to change in my body, and regular practice of that technique, perhaps every five minutes for as long as two heart beats will help my body recalibrate itself.
After all, those competing stimuli I mentioned above, while important, are not life threatening.
The most effective and most economical self help stress management tool we humans have available to us is deep breathing.
And if you are like most of us, you will nod your head in agreement and go back to your shallow breathing or panting which actually cues the stress chemistry in your body.
So you may be looking for a technological answer to the stress management issue.
Well, there are some very interesting tools available now to train your thinking and even your heart rate variability coherence.
Not too many years ago, a brand new scientific discipline emerged called neurocardiology, which studies the heart's nervous system.
Our heart has a sophisticated nervous system, a brain of its own, which sends a lot of information about feelings to the other brain. In fact, this heart brain sends more data up than it receives from our cranial brain.
The heart brain can learn and make decisions independently of the other brains we have, and that intelligence of the heart is affiliative and cooperative and when I cue that "heart rate variability coherence" with a cue thought and breathing, I change the physiology in my body from stress to relaxation in a heart beat, and my heart will keep its beat coherent for as long as I remind myself to breathe through my heart for example.
Then if I want to entertain a thought about the task at hand, generating a bit of stress hormones, I can, because in a few moments I will generate a heart intelligence thought to move internally into relaxation, consciously generating the pattern Barry Sterman, Ph.D. discovered in the Top Gun pilots.
The great thing about heart rate variability biofeedback is that it is very easy to learn.
Self help stress management was never easier and healthier.
It incorporates the change the thought to change the feeling Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tools and the deep breathing that we seldom do on our own, with biofeedback which makes the learning easily repeatable.
And did you know that stress management is one of the important things we need to do for our brain's fitness/
In fact one of the pioneers in this field has spoken of the heart rate variability tool as a self help stress management tool.
All I need to do is cue the physiology, adjust the accelerator, so to speak, and set the cruise control on self help stress.
Want to lose weight and gain health as a vegetarian? These are the sure-fire vegetarian weight loss tips guaranteed to make you feel lighter and full of energy. Your pants will probably become less tight in the next 10 days.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Tips on Dieting
Include in your vegetarian weight loss diet this type of foods:
- Carry low calories.
- Hold good amount of water.
- Bear complex-carbohydrate structure and thus require more energy (from your fat stores) to break them down into digestible units.
- Contain high fiber. Fiber helps you detox. And it makes you feel full easily so you won't overeat. Recommended daily fiber intake: 25 - 35 grams. Max 45 grams.
Most vegetables embrace these attributes. Certain fruits like figs, peach, raspberries, apple, cantaloupe, cranberries, kiwifruits, lemon, watermelon, mango, orange etc also bear these properties.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Tips on Hydration
Don't blindly follow what others say about drinking 8 glasses or 2 liters of water. You know your body best. Observe your urine at all times. If it goes yellow, you need more water. If it turns clear or pale yellow, then you should stop drinking excessive water to avoid water poisoning (hyponatremia).
Take one glass of water every 2 - 3 hour until you feel you're properly hydrated. And when you drink, drink slowly to allow for proper absorption by your body. A well hydrated body will have its metabolism running at full speed to keep burning fat.
Stop drinking 2 hours before your bedtime to prevent from having to wake up in the mid of your dream for peeing. This can disrupt your sleep quality. You can take small sips to lubricate your throat.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Tips on Interval Training
Steady-state exercises like cardio will only burn fat during its exercise bout. Once you stop it, its fat-burning effect stops. Interval workouts will suddenly raise your metabolic rate which in turn forces your body to pull out extra energy from your glycogen (stored glucose) and fat storage to fuel the sudden burst of high-intensity activity, achieving more fat loss during and even after the training bout.
But do check with your physician about your physical condition before you engage in this training since it does bear certain risk due to its high-intensity characteristic. Remember to seek advice from certified trainer when you start with interval training.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Tips on Sleeping
You can easily run into metabolic disorder when you don't get enough quality sleep. Quality comprises both the number of hours you sleep plus the time you hit the sack. How long we should sleep varies differently. Listen to your body for the best number of hours of sleep you need.
As for the best time to sleep, I strongly recommend that you turn in before 11 P.M. since our bodies will enter the intensive recovery state from 11 P.M to 2 A.M. - fixing and repairing your damaged cells and tissues.
When your body recovers more cells and tissues, it'll perform its calorie management at its best since it is after all, your cells and tissues that command and control the metabolizing of the calorie you consume.
Vegetarian Weight Loss Tips on Detox
During respiration, we breathe out carbon dioxide. When we defecate, we remove wastes from our body. We sweat in exercising. All these are detoxification. Hence, you should learn some deep breathing technique (from yoga, perhaps), make time for toilet every day, and engage in regular workouts at least 3 times a week. Simply put, you can never achieve successful vegetarian weight loss without a proper detox plan.
