BE ACNE FREE!!! Acne Treatments that ACTUALLY works!!

Hi Guys, as promised I'm back with some more tips. and today, I'm here to talk about Acne!! and how I deal with my acne prone skin last week, I did a tutorial that included 2 face masks DIY homemade face masks that can help with your acne Its such a sensitive issue for so many young people and I want to do tutorial that is concentrating on just that aspect and also wanted to share with you some of those more scary invasive treatments that you may be worried about I've just come across this new gadget as well that's taken the whole world by storm. It's not a new technology but just seems to be picking up suddenly So Yeah!! Stay Tune anytime Ever time I do a video I always want to give everybody some kind of an option Not everybody is into the more invasive stuffs. A lot of people still prefer their natural home remedies So all you have to do is peel a banana, and ideally you want the bananas that have started ripening over their sell-by date, if you know what I mean So its got the dark pigmentation beginning to appear on the skin you don't want the ones that are still green(ish) or hasn't actually had the dark spots on it because it potentially has not released the enzymes that you need All you have to do is just take the peel and rub it on your acne you can actually have it everywhere your skin will start feeling a bit tighter. If you can afford to leave it overnight then do that The rest of the peel just put them in a freezing bag and put them in your freezer so whenever you need them you can actually use them With the banana peel you will have to apply at more than once a day. so if you are around over the weekend and you're not going out then apply as many times as you can or up to three times if you can afford to do anymore Banana peel is amazing for wrinkles and its's also very good for brightening the skin. When I say brightening I don't mean that it's going to bleach your skin in anyway you're not going to go a few shades lighter or anything but if you have dark pigmentation it will actually get rid of those a little bit sooner And it helps your acne due to the antioxidant that is in the actual skin itself so by rubbing that it will help with this pesky breakout I want to talk about hydroxy acid because I truly believe they help and for many reasons, they have so many benefits now the two kinds of hydroxy acid is the alpha hydroxy acid and obviously the beta hydroxy acid the main difference between those two is their oil solubility Alpha Hydroxy acid is water soluble while Beta hydroxy acid is oil soluble which means that Beta hydroxy acid can penetrate your pores and clean up the dead cells and exfoliate your skin which also helps getting rid of your acne examples of Alpha Hydroxy acid would be citric acid for instance, found in oranges and lemons. or there also lactic acid which is found in sour milk and yogurt Last week we did a few face masks that could help your acne I actually talked about one in particular that included nutmeg milk and honey. Honey is very good with calming the inflammation as well so the combination of those three ingredients can really help your acne. If you haven't watched it, please go and check it out but yes Sour milk or yogurt, they are amazing and they contain a good dose of lactic acid so if you haven't tried those, give it a go Salicylic acid is not as popular as glycolic acid but it actually is a lot more accessible than glycolic peels and its actually present in aspirins You've probably heard about people making aspirin face masks If you want to use aspirin as a face mask or as a base for a face masks for the benefit of using it as salicylic acid I would suggest that you get some uncoated aspirin tablets and allowed to dissolve in a little bit of water and basically dabe in the pimples if they are scattered but never apply it over a large area cause you don't want to overdose its not suitable for that at all. If you want to apply it to larger areas and all you need it to do is act as an exfoliante and as an anti-inflammatory then added to some yogurt first and then apply that as a face mask but never apply pure aspirin on your face because you could overdose. We don't know how much our body could be absorbing. The second word of caution when you are using aspirin face masks or pure aspirin on your face , you have to remember that it thins blood and therefore it does have an effect on your skin as well. Although it does, I don't want to scare anybody off, it does work and it's amazing personally I would only use in small areas and over scattered pimples The third and most popular acid that we talk about when it comes to acne is obviously glycolic acid. Glycolic is essentially the big sister of salicylic acid and is more effective and also a lot more available nowadays it probably wasn't as available back in the days but now you can get it in all sorts of percentage and I usually usually use a 30% and I don't bother buying a neutraliser. I usually just use some baking soda and water and I make my own neutraliser The thing with glycolic peel is you can actually customised it based on how bad you feel your skin is so you can actually just use 10% for the times we just maintaing your skin or you can go up to 50% if you wanted drastic results for instance. Glycolic acid is known to restore your skin to its pre acne state. Nothing out there can do that for you. It also really good to restore fine lines as well It's very good to restore your skin's PH balance. It's really really good to get rid of your acne and is even better to get rid of your acne scars. This is a beauty MUST HAVE if you suffer from acne and you haven't tried it then please give it a go The thing with glycolic peel is when you are using them for the first time you have to understand that your skin's never been exposed to that before and it is going to be a shock for your skin. Even though in the label sometimes it will says to leave it one for 1 minute: DON'T!!! for the first time I normally leave it on for ten second. If I have had a break from glycolic peel, whenever I go back to it I tend to leave it on for 10 seconds twenty seconds and then wash it off and even then I can see that my skin gets a little bit dry and it feels like its gone through a bit of trauma So leave it on for as little as you can for the fist time and allow your skin to get used to it and increase the time gradually so you're not giving you get a massive shock otherwise, it is acid at the end of the day and you will end up burning your skin, so be very carefully if you are using this As I mentioned there are a number of combination peels you can go for. The most common one is obviously glycolic acid with salicylic acid but 102 00:08:07,70 --> 00:08:12,990 actually glycol peels are often used combination with benzoyl peroxide Benzoyl peroxide is a really powerful ingredients and it's effective against all kinds of acne lesions whether that may be blackheads or whiteheads or red pimples it is known to be a bactericidal which means It kills bacteria but Benzoyl Peroxide is known to sometimes make you resistant to antibiotics, so that's obvious something to be careful about but obviously if you do suffer from chronic acne then really and truly benzoyl peroxide is is going to be incredibly helpful I usually use this benzoyl peroxide soap and the great thing about this one is, I can pretty much wash my body with it cause sometimes I find that my acne is not just on my face but I sometimes have it on my arms or my back so I tend to use this for those times. For other times, when it's really there and it's red and angry I go for this Benzoyl Peroxide gel. These are also available at Amazon and i'm putting down all the links at the bottom for you, so if you wanna check these products, please do Alternatively if you wanted something with a little higher percentage, my advice would be to go to see your GP and ask about Benzoyl Peroxide and see whether those treatment would be recommended for you and your type of skin, but if you didn't want to try the glycolic peel and 0 the salicylic acid or even the benzoyl peroxide then I find that one high street product that works really well is the Dermalogica and you must have seen these around and I usually just go for a travel kit, cause it comes with all these little goodies of things that I need. Ultimately I don't tend to use of a very long time so there is no point for me to buy the really big Products that I'm never gonna end up using The first one in this range is this sebum clarifying mask which is absolutely amazing. This one has salicylic acid in there so it's an amazing natural exfoliant evert time I do you wear this, it is sort of like this white face mask and over time I can actually see all the oil being drawn to that mask and when I wash it my face is just amazing It also comes with this overnight clearing gel.This thing is magic and it really really works and if you are going to give this a go, I promise you'll see a difference and this is pretty much an overnight treatment so yeah I don't tend to use during the day but it isn't over night clearing gel so just use it at night Other than that it also comes with this Clearing Matifyer..and...this look like my face primer but because I'm quite happy with my primer, I have never given it a go it says a topical treatment that helps clear breakouts and reduce congestion and controls shine for an all day matte finish so actually I might give it a go and I'll let you know it works out There's also a concealer spot treatment but again cause my skin is fairly dark, this is very light for me, so it doesn't suit my skin tone at all I thought it might blend in but it kind of doesn't, but I'm sure if you had really red and angry pimples, it would definitely calm it down, so maybe put that on first and then apply your makeup on top and I think that could work really well last but not least my favorite product in Dermalogica is this Clearing Skin Wash It hasn't got anything invasive at all in there. Everything that i'm reading is literally lemon peel extract and camomile and tea tree oil so actually it's not it's not very harmful product at all and it's a very good substitute for the BENZO that contains benzoyl peroxide so if you want to give this a go sometimes I used this everywhere, it say apply on damp face but pretty much everywhere I suffer from the Acne, I do tend to use. This next tip is not a new technology at all but has definitely become a lot more accessible in the last few years and it is Clear Rayz by BABY QUASER and I love love love Baby Quaser products I do use a lot of their 'wands' if you like. I love their red light therapy for wrinkles and acne now will be doing a tutorial on that one and basically all this is, is LIGHT THERAPY and like I said it's not a new technology at all and a lot of us have tried it in the past. I remember when I was really really young a lot of my friends were going for laser treatment. Essentially this is what it is Its just been made very compact and its been made so that you can use this at home The only downfall to this product I feel is price but I think as time goes by it will become cheaper as well just like you know IPL home treatments have become a lot cheaper over time. This CLEAR RAYZ comes with the nice box and it comes with instruction manual or it also comes with this little sun tan eye protection thing which I have not even bothered opening and I have been using it and I just wanted to show you how it works. So basically once you've plugged it in, and it has to stay plugged in, so you have to be near power point, so hopefully they will work on that as well Switch it on and this is the red light and press the button again this is the blue light and if you press the button a third time it will switch itself off. what's the difference between the red light and the blue light? Quite simply the blue light kills the bacteria while the red light actually soothes the inflammation itself, so they actually working in partnership with each other. A lot of products out, either kills the bacteria or soothes the inflammation. No one product can do both but this product does and that's why it's so amazing and you can use in the comfort of your own home, you can use it wherever you want and as often as you like In the manual it advise you not to use both lights on the same day It advises you to use the Blue light to begin with followed by the red light and obviously use the blue light only once a week while you can use the right light a few times a week so obviously when you read the manual, It explains very extensively how to use the product and how often to use it as well. Because obviously it's made of so many tiny LED light they tend to warm up when you use them over 20 minutes it can feel a little hot but doesn't burn your skin in any way. I have never had any pigmentation of any problems at all I am a big fan of all the BABY QUASER products cause I can really see them work and I was really really excited when I found out about CLEAR RAYZ being out. This product is completely safe and it is not injecting you with any kind of chemical It's not thinning your skin any way The one thing I would say is what I found when I used it when I have have quite a big patch of acne and I use the Baby Quaser's Clear Rayz, my acne tends to get worse before it makes it better so don't be alarmed if that happens to you it's completely normal and always make sure that you are testing it before you start using it on your face for instance. If you've tried everything and you've not seen anything work just as well then maybe this is something to consider and try. IF it doesn't work you do have a money back guarantee, if I'm not mistaken it's probably sixty days so use it for 60 days and if you're not happy with it then at least you've got the option of sending it back, so its a really really good incentive. I hope that you found these tips helpful today and if you are giving them a go Let me know how it's going and let me know what your thoughts are I love them and I've used them for many years and its tried and tested and nothing's gone wrong but obviously with the chemical peels it does make your skin a little bit dry and on occasion where I have been a bit careless and not kept a good eye on the timer I've potentilly irritated my skin a little bit but never actually burnt myself but that's probably because I never use a very high percentage to begin with. If you are going to try these products, make sure you always do test patches as well to make sure that your skin is not irritated or you are not allergic to any of these products as well so yeah, give them a go. I hope that you found these tips helpful and if you are going to try, please let me know how they're going It would be really good to find out how these are working out for you Remember to like and subscribe and share these videos with your friends who may find these helpful. Please send me your comments and questions. Really do love hearing from you guys and I will see you next week

Acne Treatment. What Are Alternatives to Accutane?

There are many different acne medicines besides Accutane. There are topical antibiotics and those include Clindamycin, Sulfur, Azelaic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide. There are also topical retinoids and those include Atrolin, Tazorac, Differin, and Retin A.
Then, there are the oral medicines for acne. Those include the the antibiotics Doxycycline, Minocycline, and Tetracycline. Sulfur oral antibiotics like Bactrum are also used, and less commonly, Penicillin derived antibiotics.
For women, there's also oral birth control as well as Spironolactone, a medicine that modulates testosterone in the skin. And finally, there are procedures that you can do for acne. Those include light therapy, photodynamic therapy, and laser therapy.
So as you can see, even if you don't want to go on Accutane, there's many different things that can be used to help you.

Acne Treatment. How Does Stress Affect Acne?

Patients always say to me, "I definitely break out more when I'm stressed out." And there's a reason for that.
When you're stressed out, and that can be because you're stressed out on your job. It also could be stress because you're not getting enough sleep or you're traveling a lot.
But anytime you're worn down your body's going to produce more cortisol. That's a stress hormone. What cortisol does is it makes your sebaceous gland, which is commonly known as the oil gland become more active and make more oil or sebum.
Thus leading to the clogged pore which leads to all the other things you don't want to see on your face, like pimples and cysts.
So, I think a very important of treating acne and maybe the most difficult part is trying to reduce your stress. Because I try to practice intergratively I often give suggestions to my patients on lifestyle modifications that I think would help their skin.
I'm a big fan of yoga. I do it personally and I recommend it for many of my patients. Because I think it just brings your body back into balance.

And when you do that you have fewer stress hormones going all over the place causing inflammation in your body and your skin.

Acne Treatment. How to Cover a Pimple with Makeup

I think the biggest mistake you can make when trying to cover up acne is just you keep caking on acne thinking that can cover it trying to cover your severe acne so i think there are few things that can help.

First of all if u have pimple green makeup can be very helpful in covering the red. Second of all make sure you use non comedogenic and make sure no mineral oil, simethicone, silicon, cyclomethicone these are all things clot black pores.

Personally i like mineral makeup like perenium and the reason is more natural, not causing allergy and the give very good coverage without looking cakedown for really severe acne need major coverage i think best way to go is dermoplant which you can buy it in near store that is used to cover fired skin is also used to cover severe acne

Acne Treatment - How Do Birth Control Pills Affect Acne?

So one of the very common treatments for female acne are birth control pills. And the reason that birth control pills help is they help regulate the hormones.
Sometimes what happens in women is the balance between estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and some of the other reproductive hormones gets out of whack. And what birth control pills basically do is they help bring the hormones back into balance.
In addition, birth control pills will decrease the amount of testosterone that's stimulating the oil gland -- what we call the sebaceous gland -- in your skin.
Birth control pills usually cause about a 30% to 60% reduction in acne. But of course it depends on the person. And of course some birth control pills cause side effects that a lot of women do not want, like weight gain, mood swings, and lowered sex drive.
But thankfully now there are many new birth control pills that work very well and avoid some of those major side effects. So the choice of birth control pill is actually very important, because there are some birth control pills, because of their progesterone component, that can actually cause acne.
In addition, birth control like Mirena IUD can also cause acne, and in some people the Nuvaring causes acne as well. Remember, these things are very individual, so what applies to your friend may not apply to you.

Do At Home Acne Scar Treatments Work

If you have scars etched in your face left behind by acne from years ago, I’ll bet you’ve tried a bunch of different products and treatments to fix them.
And if you, like most people, were disappointed with the results, I’ll tell you why, and more importantly, what to do.
 Not a day goes by without a viewer question or patient visit about acne scars. By “acne scars,” I‘m referring specifically to skin colored holes or depressions left in your skin by old acne lesions months or years earlier.

Technically, these are called “atrophic” scars because there has been a loss of volume of the dermal or middle layer of skin… And it’s that loss of volume, or “atrophy,” which causes the depression or hole.
This refers to all three types of atrophic acne scars: ice pick box car and rolling. All are caused by the surface of your skin literally sinking in, in different shapes, from loss of the underlying dermis caused by the destructive force of extreme inflammation of severe acne cysts.

Sadly there is no topical skincare product or at home device that will significantly improve those scars, very simply, because at home stuff just can’t cause the body to make enough new dermal tissue, whether its collagen, hyaluronic, GAG's, and so on to fill in the hole enough to raise the surface of the skin to make a meaningful difference.

And even if they improve it 10%, which frankly is very unlikely, all you’ll probably see is the 90% they didn’t help.

So whether it’s retinoids, dermarollers, microdermabrasion, silicone patches or even my revered glycolics, which all can do good things for many skin issues, they’ll only frustrate your desire to fix your acne scars.

But if you do need treatment, don’t despair. See your dermatologist. Many in office treatments really do help, such as surgical repair of the scars, fillers treatments or even laser therapy with C02, Erbium and other types which today have less downtime and quicker healing.

Acne scars need not be forever.

Acne Treatment. What Is Light Therapy?

Light Therapy for acne is a therapy that uses either blue or red light to treat acne. Blue light kills bacteria. Red light is anti-inflammatory and can penetrate deeper into the skin. It can actually deactivate sebaceous glands similarly but less effectively than Accutane. Even better than doing Light Therapy by itself, which takes several treatments, I like to do Photodynamic Therapy, also known as PDT. In this therapy, we put a medicine on you called Levulan. This is a medicine that makes you more sensitive to certain wavelengths of light. Then you sit and percolate for about an hour, and then you go under the blue light or the red light. You stay there for anywhere between 7 to 20 minutes, depending on what light we're using. With Photodynamic Therapy, I can see very good results in just two treatments of inflammatory acne. The only downsides are that insurance doesn't cover it, and you do need several treatment, whether you do it with the light alone or with Photodynamic Therapy. The second con is that we still don't have long-term studies so I can guarantee you a certain amount of acne-free time, which I would very much like to do. This is a wonderful treatment for people who don't want to go on Accutane or don't want to go on birth control pills. Also Light Therapy without the Levulan is safe in pregnancy, which is wonderful, because there are so few options for pregnant women who are getting acne.

Acne Treatment - What Are the Best Acne Products? |

I think the cornerstone of any acne therapy is a retinoid. Retinoids are prescription medicines like Retin-A, Tazorac or Atralin. These are so important, because they prevent the clogging of the pore, and that's really the first step in the development of any acne lesion, whether it be whitehead, or pimple or pustule or cyst. I think something that kills bacteria can also be very helpful, whether it's a topical antibiotic like Clindamycin,a benzoyl peroxide or a natural antibacterial like pomerosa or Mahonia. I also think that glycolic peels or salicylic acid peels can be very helpful in both preventing and treating acne. The most important thing to remember though, is that, what is right for one person may not be right for another. I don't have a cookie cutter approach to acne. I base it on your skin type, your lifestyle, what kind of regimen you like to have. So, although I tend to use a retinoid, I always try to customize the treatment for you.

Acne Treatment - Five natural skin care tips

So this is also one of my favorite topics when talking about acne, is the more natural approach to your acne. There's several supplements that I would recommend. The first would be Vitamin A, no more than 10,000 units every day. This sort of mimics Acutane without some of the more serious side effects. And you can't get pregnant when you're taking this dose of Vitamin A either. I also recommend Niaciminide. Either 500 MG orally or topically. There's a company called Naturally Clear which makes Niacinimide products for acne skin that are very nice. I also recommend Omega-3 fatty acids for their general anti-inflammatory mcharacters. I also recommend barage oil which has an acid called GLA which is an omega-6 fatty acid, it is very anti-inflammatory in the skin. It can also be found even in primrose oil, but it occurs at a higher concentration in barage oil. I also recommend pro-biotics. When your digestive system is happy, your body is going to be in a less inflammatory state. And finally, of course, a good balanced diet.

The use and storage of essential oils

About medical facilities essential oils known since ancient. So, in his scientific works of the Persian physician Avicenna (X-XI centuries.) Described the essential oils more than 800 plants and their effect on the physical and mental health, his mood. Essential oils not only have a pleasant smell, but also a high biological activity, healing properties. Aromatherapy - a reliable assistant in health promotion.

The use of essential oils

The healers of antiquity had no doubt that with the help of essential oils can solve a lot of trouble beauty and health problems. In XX century the art of aromatherapy, finally recognized and official medicine. Moreover, this ancient art is now required to study medical students in France.

Essential oils and psycho-emotional state

Our mood is directly related to odors that we breathe. For example, the aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries instantly elevates mood, and in sensitive individuals, even causing a slight smile. But there are other examples: according to research by American scientists, the smell of chlorine a person is always associated with the hospital, and his breathing, experiencing severe stress. Therefore, in America, all medical institutions are treated with the addition of fragrant drugs essential substances.

The essential oil, like no other medium can in seconds change the psycho-emotional state of man: to cheer him or, conversely, soothe. Some aromamasel even stimulate creativity. American scientists conducted an experiment involving 500 people. People are asked to draw whatever they want, and then inhale the aromas of conifers and citrus oils, and return to the drawing. Interestingly, after a session of aromatherapy subjects used more bright colors, their work has been more fancy and creative.

Wake creativity will also help bergamot, marjoram and rosemary. These plants are not only loved by the French condiment for meat, but also a powerful anti-depressants.

Essential oils against the common cold

In winter, the season of colds and flu, ancient tools in the arsenal of "fragrant" pharmacies are particularly in demand.
From the common cold will save the essential oils of basil, geranium, cinnamon, sage and nutmeg. Inhale them before going out. Fill the citrus scents surrounding area. Oils of these solar fruit well proven as a powerful disinfectants and mild antidepressant.
A pronounced anti-inflammatory effects have tea tree oil, ginger, sandalwood, clove, sage, pine.
Reliable assistant in the fight against colds and coughs all kinds - lemon, eucalyptus, myrtle, frankincense, thyme, anise, cypress.
If you are hoarse and, moreover, you have laryngitis, will help the essential oils of lavender, rose, sage.
In the case of colds and flu, use aromomasla bergamot, pine, spruce and cedar, mint, fennel, anise, lavender, chamomile.

Essential oils with stomach problems

In an age of fast food a rare inhabitant metropolis boasts a healthy stomach. A special group of risk - motivated climbers, office workers, who sacrifice a regular meal in favor of high productivity. Dinner? On this there is simply no time, because the boss wants you to do an urgent report. And so every day.
To help aromatherapy comes again. Spasms and cramps in the stomach and intestine will be removed bergamot, verbena, anise, fennel, chamomile, rose, pine. From heartburn save sage, lemon, mint. The feeling of heaviness in the stomach will be removed aromas of anise, ginger, nutmeg, juniper and oregano.

How to use essential oils

Essential oils themselves are very concentrated product, so they should be used, mixed with some neutral base oil (on the skin) or with water.
A few drops of essential oil can be added to the inhaler in a hot water bath in aromakuritelnitsu ... or take with you to work. To do this, buy a stylish aromamedalon ceramic amphorae, drip to the bottom of a few drops of oil of the desired and put on neck. Periodically inhale the healing aroma.
There is another way. Major sprinkle with sea salt with essential oils and then pour the resulting "medicine" in the small box. Suitable tin packaging from under the chewable lozenges or fruit drops.

Terms of storage of essential oils

Essential oils have a high sensitivity to light, so they must be stored in a dark place, in a bubble of brown or blue glass at room temperature. Shelf life aromamasel up to three years. Exception - citrus fruits, they "live" no more than a year.

A well-chosen essential oils, as we have said, will help attain peace of mind, relieve stress, improve concentration, energize. When choosing a fragrance trust your preferences. Since, according to the science of aromatherapy, each scent is "responsible" for certain organs and emotions, your body itself will determine what he needs at the moment.

Essential Hair Oil

Effective use of essential oils in case of problems with hair

For example, sage oil strengthens the hair, stopping hair loss and stimulating them to divide the scalp cells. Rosemary oil is good for the sensitive skin of the head, removing irritation and dryness. When excessive activity of the sebaceous glands are recommended mask with oil of juniper - it normalizes seboregulyatsiyu and prevents the rapid contamination of hair. On sluggish, loose, dull hair excellent tonic effect has oil rose. A grapefruit oil is indispensable for hair loss, caused by stress: it improves the blood circulation of the scalp and relieves feelings of anxiety, stress.

Essential oils are dissolved in the "transport" means - neutral oil (olive, apricot, peach) or ready-balm. And even better - targeted to buy cosmetics with essential oils. This is the final word in the art of self-care. Mankind has realized that the path to beauty and health, based on the chemical effects on the body, leading to allergies and a host of side effects. True health and beauty - in harmony with nature, which are an integral part of the essential oils.

Aroma sticks

In the East, they know how to put himself in a state of harmony and peace with the help of flavors. It was from there came to us the tradition of burning incense. Most often found on sale in the form of incense sticks, although there are also a cone-shaped pyramid, loose and spices, like plasticine. The last two species typically have a very strong odor, so that their use is recommended in open spaces. To explore the aromatherapy is better to choose a smell of sandalwood sticks - they have a mild and pleasant smell, which will be enjoyed by anyone.

Then try other monoaromaty: lavender, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, etc., then you will learn to distinguish one odor from another. To do this, fit Chinese incense. Then you can move to the Indian or Nepalese - they tend to be complex bouquets of smells. For incense stands and need kuritelnitsy. In addition to performing a support function, they are excellent interior decoration. These accessories are for all tastes and budgets, from very ordinary wood or clay to expensive bronze or brass inlaid with stones.

Essential oils

Essential oils - another flavorful way to calm the nerves and gain strength. Each of the aromatic oils has a set of healing properties, so choose something that not only you like the smell, but also suitable for the characteristics. For example, valerian oil relieve stress and insomnia; Verbena prevents vascular spasms and headaches; lavender is useful for the normalization of the liver, gallbladder.

Possible applications of aromatic oils are very wide. You can burn them in the oil burner, taking with them a bath, dripping into the water or stirring with cosmetic salt added to creams, shampoos, massage oils, and even wine, apply compresses or inhalations. Another advantage of essential oils lies in the fact that you yourself can change the intensity of smell and create a mix of flavors to your liking. Mix the orange and mint, juniper and pine, patchouli and bergamot - the options are limited only by your desire. Everything you need to aromatherapy can be purchased in stores specializing in the sale of products from the East, vegetarian or yoga stores. Use for themselves and the most simple, but such pleasant ways to make home sweet smell: spices for food or scented soap in a box of laundry. Even little things can add comfort and a nice flavor in your life.

Seasonal allergies

Seasonal allergies - a concept relevant in relation to the two types of allergic reactions to insect venom and pollen (hay fever). If risk of allergy to insects is maintained for a long period (from mid-spring to mid-Autumn), the manifestations of hypersensitivity reactions to plants can continue different times - from weeks to 4 months.

An allergy is the result of hypersensitivity of the immune system, which protects the body from penetration of bacteria and viruses. In some cases, the immune system raises a "false alarm" in response to the penetration into the body of certain substances (allergens), which brings no harm, as the enemy, and take appropriate protective measures. This inadequate response is called "allergy"

Symptoms of seasonal allergies

Hay fever can occur at any age, but more often - between 8 and 20 years (at least - after 40 years).

It can manifest itself only itching in the eyes, nose and throat, and rhinitis symptoms: nasal congestion, runny nose, and sometimes coughing. There may be a loss of smell, inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis) and the accession of asthma (especially wet summer). Atopic asthma is caused by bronchial hyperresponsiveness by inhalation of allergen, which leads to bronchospasm, accumulation of mucus and swelling of the mucous membrane, it provokes suffocation and paroxysmal cough.

plant pollen, can cause the appearance of skin allergic reactions, such as acute urticaria. Usually it lasts from several hours to several days. In contrast to acute, chronic urticaria, which exists for weeks or months, it is very rarely allergic reactions. Most often it is associated with food allergens and additives, as well as drugs.

Hives can take many forms, but it is always characterized by the presence of blisters, which can merge with each other. The rash can appear on any part of the body and be accompanied by severe itching.

Another manifestation of allergic skin reactions is angioedema or angioedema. It can affect the face, lips, eyelids, mucous membranes and other parts of the body. Itching is often lacking, there is a painful burning sensation. Angioedema become life-threatening if it spreads to the mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx: swollen tongue and the back of the throat cover the airways and can lead to suffocation

Diagnosing Seasonal Allergies

The main diagnostic methods - examination and the patient survey. Questioning the patient or his or her parents - very detailed, includes an analysis of the complaints and possible precipitating factors, medical history, information about diseases of relatives, about the way of life and work conducted by the treatment.

If necessary, the doctor may order a variety of complementary research methods, depending on the individual case.

Determination of immunoglobulin in the blood concentration of E

For the diagnosis of allergy is very important in determining the concentration of blood IgE (immunoglobulin E). Increasing its content favors the development of the body of specific antibodies against allergens. Determination of IgE in serum is carried out, withdrawn from a vein in the patient. To test the use of more than 200 allergens, defined as total and allergen of IgE, thus indirectly judge the allergen, causes the formation of immunoglobulin E and the group responsible for the allergy.

provocation testing

If an allergic reaction develops in response to the alleged allergen, the allergen may be considered causally significant (specific).

skin tests

Adding to the skin (forearm or back) of small amounts of purified allergens in the known concentrations of allergic reactions can be evaluated after 20 minutes. The sample is considered positive if the observed formation of papules, erythema (redness), or a rash.

Basic principles of treatment of seasonal allergies

When it is a dangerous period, the first and most logical precaution - to limit their contact with the allergen. Keep windows closed at home. If possible, use air conditioning. While in the car, pick up the glass. Upon returning from the street, take a shower and rinse your hair. Do not dry laundry outdoors. Working in the garden, you can wear a protective bandage over the nose and mouth.

Minimize the residence time in the open air, especially in the countryside. If you are allergic to fungi spores, not recommended staying in places where there is rotting hay, as well as in the woods and parks with wet fallen leaves. If possible, spend the time on vacation in another climate zone, where flowering is over or not yet started, or where pollen is less than, for example, on the coast.

If possible, go out at the most opportune time. Least of all the pollen in the air is wet on rainy days, and fungal spores - on the contrary, in a dry and sunny weather. On windy days, pollen and fungal spores in the air much longer, besides, they are transported over long distances. So quiet windless days are better suited to stay outdoors. The safest time of day - morning, while still raw pollen. Most fungal spores in the air is in the evening.

Refer to the allergist. It will test, determine what is causing your allergic reaction and prescribe treatment. The most widely used for treatment of allergic diseases used antihistamines. They block the action of histamine, a substance responsible for allergic reactions. Some antihistamines - suprastin, diphenhydramine, tavegil - can often cause drowsiness, it should take into account people, sitting down behind the wheel of a car. a new generation of drugs (loratadine, cetirizine, fexofenadine, ebastine, Kestin) do not have a sedative effect. Significantly reduce the effect or even completely get rid of the allergy can use allergen immune therapy. It is dangerous that the period before subcutaneously administered dose causative allergens identified - this contributes to desensitization, i.e. reduce the sensitivity to this allergen.

Anaphylactic shock: what is it?

Anaphylaxis - allergic reaction is instantaneous. By "instantaneous" refers to minutes and seconds in some cases that tested after direct exposure to the allergen. At the same time the blood circulation and breathing are violated to such an extent that without appropriate emergency measures people can say goodbye to life.

The condition for the occurrence of such an inadequate reaction of the immune system is the body prior to her contact with the allergen. In other words, anaphylactic shock caused by repeated hitting of the allergen into the body. We should not think that if you do not have any allergies that you are 100% insured against anaphylaxis. This is not true. Still, its probability disproportionately higher in those individuals who are allergic to a long-standing problem, for example, the same asthmatics.

In most cases, anaphylactic shock develops in response to repeated "acquaintance" with the following allergens:

  •     Various types of nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, peanuts, etc.);
  •     poison from the bite of bees, wasps, flies;
  •     foodstuffs (citrus, "milk", fish, bananas, etc.);
  •     drugs (almost every drug, if you look in his instructions for use, is able to cause an allergic reaction);
  •     household chemicals (detergents, hair dye, etc.).

Symptoms of anaphylactic shock

Anaphylactic shock - a life-threatening condition, so the ability to quickly separate the wheat from the chaff, and anaphylactic shock from any functional ailments can be very costly. If anaphylaxis in the body marked a massive release of histamine mediator of inflammation. It negatively affects the bloodstream, causing the patient's skin turns pale and grows cold. Signs of anaphylaxis include:

  •     when a sharp change in the human condition is clearly correlated in time with exposure to potential allergens (bee sting, injection or ingestion of a drug, a non-traditional eaten food and so on.);
  •     choking, bluish color of the skin and lips;
  •     inhibition of the nervous system, loss of consciousness;
  •     rashes on the skin in varying amounts and types;
  •     swelling of the tongue and lips, hindering breathing process.

Anaphylaxis each person can have their own specifics. At one first thing in the affected skin (itching, rash, swelling, redness), others anaphylaxis immediately "has a brain", causing severe headaches, nausea, vomiting, muscle spasms, urinary incontinence, loss of consciousness. In some cases, anaphylactic shock is myocardial infarction.

Anaphylactic Shock: First aid

Here the two do not have to be considered: should immediately call the medics. At stake the risk of cardiac arrest or cessation of breathing, the other option can not be.

First aid for anaphylactic shock

If a person is already unconscious, not breathing you should independently try to resuscitate him. Immediate start for the chest compressions, clasping his fingers rhythmically (100-120 times per minute), pressing palms on the breast in such a way that they went deep into 5-6 cm. Massage should be combined with artificial respiration according to the "mouth-to -rot "approximately every 30-40 compressions. Do not forget to close with the victim's nose.

If the patient is conscious and breathing, it should be planted or placed in a reclining position. If he is very weak, it is required to lay on a flat surface with no protrusions, slightly lifting the legs (pillow).

If possible, we should try to remove the body of a potential allergen (stomach wash, induce vomiting, take out the sting of bees, etc.).

Hay fever in children: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Causes of hay fever in children
Hay fever in children manifestation of hay fever in a child
What determines a child's exposure to pollinosis? If a family has at least one such a "sufferer", there is a high likelihood that the disease will manifest itself and its children. Although hay fever is not a hereditary disease, research shows that children's susceptibility to pollen has its roots in their pedigree. Pollinosis - quite common in asthmatics. Eczema, passive smoking and air pollution - all of these factors can trigger hay fever.

Symptoms of hay fever in children

Hay fever in children is diagnosed primarily on two main grounds: wanton, at first glance, sneezing and profuse nasal discharge lasting for the entire period of the mass distribution of pollen in the environment. Eyes may redden, tears and unbearably itchy. There may be a photophobia and paroxysmal cough. Due to the allergic swelling of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, breathing becomes difficult, and in the beginning of the problems arise with nasal breathing, and then there is a sensation of a lump in the throat. In some cases, hay fever causes skin rashes. All these physiological problems are reflected in the general condition of the child: it is capricious, becomes restless or, on the contrary, lethargic and lack of initiative. He lost appetite, headaches, can increase the body temperature (not always). Because of complications, which are peculiar to pollen allergy, it may be mentioned bacterial infections and their consequences - sinusitis, conjunctivitis, etc.

By and large, hay fever can occur in adults, but still this nagging ailment is more peculiar to children.

Generally, hay fever develops under the influence of grass pollen, but it does not mean that the tree pollen does not fall under suspicion. For example, pollen of birch or hazel very contagious in terms of hay fever. Duration of symptoms is determined by the source of allergies, ie view caused its pollen. So, the symptoms induced by grass pollen, can plague from May to July, while the tree pollen causes sneezing and sniffing, since early spring.

Treating hay fever in children

Any treatment of the disease, aimed at suppressing its symptoms and do not address the causes, threatens to turn into a waste of time. In this regard, an important condition for the successful treatment of hay fever in children, for that matter, any other allergy, is the conclusion of a child under the "fire" of the allergen, or at least the maximum limiting contact with the allergen.

How can I hide from ubiquitous pollen? The problem solved by the time, in the flowering period Allergenic plants, changing the child's place of residence (of course, if possible).

With specific regard to the treatment of hay fever, it is desirable to participate in the process of not only the local pediatrician, and allergist. The basis of the pharmacological treatment of hay fever in children - antihistamine therapy. The mechanism of action of drugs of this group is based on the inactivation of histamine - a mediator of inflammation and allergic reactions. Antihistamines can easily cope with the itching, sneezing and watery eyes, but they are often powerless when nasal congestion. These formulations are produced in a tablet or in the form of nasal sprays and have two "playing field":

  •     as emergency aid in the event of symptoms of hay fever;
  •     as a prophylactic in cases where it is known beforehand that the child will be in the "public" allergens.

The main pharmacologically active ingredients are antihistamines cetirizine, fexofenadine and loratadine. Compared to the earlier generation drugs (remember, though, that as diphenhydramine), they practically do not cause drowsiness.

Still other drugs are effective in pollinozah - corticosteroids as nasal sprays and drops. These drugs are used only in severe cases, in view of their serious impact on the child's body. Corticosteroids have a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, so they are able to suppress the effects of allergic reactions. For corticosteroids resort in cases where anti-histamines did not give the desired effect or when the main symptom of hay fever is a stuffy nose.

Another good option symptomatic treatment of allergic nasal congestion - Nasal decongestants in the form of sprays or drops. They narrow the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa and facilitate breathing. Often antihistamines and decongestants are combined in one product to provide maximum all-round effect.

During acute hay fever a child should be transferred to a sparing diet, necessarily excluding berries and fruits Allergenic plants. For example, if the cause of the allergy is hazel, it is necessary to remove from the diet of nuts.

Hay fever, in spite of its apparent safety ( "you just have to wait a little bit") is fraught with rather grave consequences. Therefore, parents should be very careful about any allergic reactions from your child and not postponing it indefinitely, to pay a visit to the allergist

Atopic dermatitis in children

Atopic dermatitis, often called eczema or atopic eczema, is a fairly common skin disease. What can I say, if it is found in about 10% of children worldwide. Despite the fact that there is a teenagers and an adult form of the disease, can reasonably be called atopic dermatitis "disease baby-faced." By the way, diathesis - another of its common and the more common name of the people.

The causes of atopic dermatitis

If we talk about the specific causes of atopic dermatitis, they remain to this day in the rank of versions and assumptions. In general, we can speak of a combination of hereditary and a number of other factors of everyday life, which act as the trigger button for atopic dermatitis.

The symptoms of atopic dermatitis in children

Period of occurrence

This kind of eczema is almost always develops within the first 5 years of life, most of all - until the child is 1 year old. Atopic dermatitis is rarely seen immediately after the birth of a baby: more likely its appearance later, after 6 weeks. Other rashes can occur at any time and go for a few days or weeks, but atopic dermatitis is coming for a long time and seriously. Periods of clinical exacerbations may be replaced by "ebb", but this disease has a marked tendency to recur.

Eruptions generated atopic dermatitis, unbearably itchy. The child can not control their unbridled desire to scratch, which ultimately leads to a natural skin damage.
Localization of lesions

In children rash emerges, primarily on the face or inner surface of the elbow and knee bends, i.e. in the places that are easily scratched. In principle, the rash can affect any area of the skin. Sometimes red spots show through only the skin of hands. The rash on the scalp, feet or ears - other key locations for atopic dermatitis. However, one must bear in mind that has similar symptoms and a number of other diseases (e.g., seborrheic dermatitis).

The appearance of the rash
Atopic dermatitis on the inner surface of the knee bends.
This is perhaps the least significant criterion for the identification of atopic dermatitis in children: it is very different, it can be for each individual patient. Overall - it scratches and dry scaly skin. Sometimes the background of aggressive irrepressible scratching the skin infection is entered, and then it is covered by a yellow crust or small pustules. Constant damaging effect on the skin leads to its gradual coarsening.

The presence of family in the incidence of atopic eczema, asthma or hay fever may be more likely to persuade a doctor to the diagnosis of "atopic dermatitis."

What causes atopic dermatitis in children? Trigger factors

First of all, you must understand that atopic dermatitis is not contagious: it is not transmitted from person to person. Atopic skin inflammation is a result of the presence in the skin of the individual large number of so-called inflammatory cells (inflammatory cells) having hyperreactivity towards irritating factors. The task of scientists today is to establish the cause of hyperactivity. Patients with atopic dermatitis, asthma or hay fever are born with an excess of these cells. And if they will be affected by any of the following factors, they will not be able to just "switch off", as do the other cells:

    Dry skin. The main function of this natural protective barrier of our body - protective. We do not pay on skin problems absolutely no attention until she did not force us to do it his dry (read: vulnerability). Individuals with atopic dermatitis are endowed with abnormally dry skin. Other causes of dry skin - too frequent washing and neglect skin moisturizer;
    Irritants. It all chemical substances and natural origin, which can cause irritation and dryness of the skin;
    Stress. With regard to children is, by the way, is also true, as they also sometimes have to experience the frustration, anger or fear. By the way, atopic dermatitis itself - too much stress;
    Sweating. Most of the patients with atopic dermatitis notice that the rash covered when their throws in the heat. It can be physical activity, increased ambient temperature or too warm underwear;
    Infections. Staph infection - a fairly common phenomenon in children. Other infections that can cause atopic dermatitis - herpes and fungal (ringworm or athlete's foot);
    Allergens i.e. all the things that can cause an allergic reaction: pollen, animal dander, dust, food. Obviously, asthma and hay fever allergy-related easier by virtue of speed clinical signs. With slowly developing atopic dermatitis it is more complicated, but in some cases it also develops under the influence of allergens, such as food.

How to treat atopic dermatitis in children

It may seem trite, but the treatment of atopic dermatitis should start with a trip to the doctor. Neither of which Internet diagnosis there can be no question: it like symptoms can occur in a number of serious illnesses and untrue tactics of treatment can be very expensive. If you try to organize all the tools and methods for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in children, can get the following list:

    Local glucocorticoids in the form of creams, ointments, gels, emulsions, etc. (tselestoderm, sinaflana, betasalik). Removing inflammation, effective for acute exacerbations of the disease. The only thing - you can not use more than 7-10 days in a row because of the increased risk of side effects, with which, unfortunately, have these potent means;
    Combination medicaments which include corticosteroids, antibacterial and antifungal agents. Apply in the case of adherence to infection in allergic inflammation;
    Antihistamines (erius, ketotifen, Claritin, Telfast). Optimal use of drugs second and third generation, because they are much less likely to have the sedative effect. On average, a standard course of treatment is about 10 days;
    Derivative pimecrolimus. These modern drugs are used for the relief of acute symptoms. Compared with glucocorticoids have a greater safety (for example, at least to the manufacturer);
    Sorbents (Polyphepanum, activated charcoal). Used as part of combination therapy to detoxification;
    Antiseptics (fukartsin, "Zelenka");
    Soft sedatives (Persia, glycine, plant-based preparations of valerian, peony).

These drugs are used primarily during exacerbation of atopic dermatitis. When the disease is receding, the treatment significantly modified: emphasis on vitamin and cosmetic correction and concomitant diseases.

Hives: causes, symptoms, types, treatment

The term "urticaria" (aka urticaria) together under a group of diseases with similar clinical picture: itchy rash of blisters on the type, resembling a trace of burning nettle. Localization rash can be limited to any one part of the body or totally distributed throughout its surface. If the rash completely disappears for a time period not exceeding 6 weeks, then one speaks of acute urticaria. In more rare cases rash persists for years have chosen not wanting to leave the territory. In such cases, it leads to chronic hives.

Symptoms and types of hives
Symptoms of hives
Overriding clinical manifestations of urticaria - voldyreobraznaya rash, some elements of which may have a size from a couple of millimeters to a dozen centimeters in diameter. Skin rashes over time fade and disappear, but in their place, and often in an absolutely pristine parts of the body before there are new blisters, causing quite a significant itching and a burning desire to scratch.

Acute urticaria
In most cases, urticaria is a temporary phenomenon: suddenly appeared, it increases the severity of their presence within 8-12 hours, and 24-48 hours later, then gradually eroding.

Chronic urticaria
Another thing - chronic urticaria, manifestations of which are sometimes unpredictable. Typically, the clinical picture of this form urticaria can be represented as a sine wave, and is characterized by 6-12-week acute attacks, which are followed by periods of remission. The sharpening can be associated with exposure to certain triggers, which will be discussed below. Approximately 10% of patients with chronic urticaria are dominated by unpleasant symptoms during the time that lasts the disease. Clinical signs of chronic urticaria tend to get worse in the evening, which can cause problems falling asleep.
Urticaria vasculitis

It is not often, but, nevertheless, it happens that affects urticaria shallow blood vessels of the skin and cause an inflammation. In this case we speak about urticaria vasculitis (angina): it lasts more than 24 hours, and basic markers of disease - blisters - is quite painful to the touch and may leave a small scar. Urticaria vasculitis treatment requires not only an allergist and dermatologist.
Causes of urticaria

Urticaria caused massive local (s.c.) release of histamine and other mediators of inflammation, catalyzing the respective skin reactions.
Causes of acute urticaria

Factors that trigger chain reactions, causing an acute urticaria, about half of the cases remain unsolved. In general, those are:

  •     food allergy, such as peanuts, shrimp eggs or cheese;
  •     allergies to environmental factors (pollen, dust mites or chemical substances);
  •     latex allergy, which is characteristic for healthcare professionals;
  •     infection: from the banal to the SARS HIV;
  •     insect bites;
  •     emotional distress;
  •     side effects of certain medications, including antibiotics, NSAIDs, and antihistamines;
  •     physical factors such as mechanical or thermal effects on the skin, sunlight and water.

The causes of chronic urticaria
Chronic urticaria, many experts associated with autoimmune disorders in which the immune system begins to attack its own tissues, leading to the release of large amounts of histamine, thereby triggering skin reactions.

However, the real cause of chronic urticaria is not established yet. It is known that it may develop in combination with other autoimmune pathologies such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus ("lupus").

Chronic urticaria, as, indeed, and severe, often begins under the influence of any trigger factors, such as the same stress, alcohol, caffeine, hot, squeezing the skin (eg - in tight clothes), certain nutritional supplements (salicylates, and others. ).

Treatment of urticaria
Treatment of acute urticaria

In most cases, urticaria not require any special treatment, because its symptoms are relatively mild and tested within a few days.

If the situation is not so optimistic, and signs of acute urticaria are more serious and do not want to pass, it's time to call for help antihistamines that blocking the effects of histamine, relieve itching and eliminate rashes. Here are just a few representatives of this group of drugs: cetirizine (allertek, Zyrtec, tsetrin), fexofenadine (Telfast, Rapid, feksofast, dinoks), loratadine (klarisens, lomilan, allergoferon, erius).

Modern antihistamines - this is not the relic diphenhydramine, causing drowsiness and sedation, though, lightly-irresponsible "cocktail" of alcohol, even ultra antihistamines may trigger a lowering of consciousness until his loss. If due to the symptoms of urticaria in a patient are present trouble falling asleep, in this case, you can kill two birds with appointing an antihistamine that promotes falling asleep: tavegil or Atarax.

But not by antihistamines alone ... In case of severe symptoms of the disease can be cut short by a short-term (3-5 days) receiving glucocorticoids, for example, this role can perform the same test of time prednisone. Preparations of this group suppress the immune system, and thus mitigate the symptoms of urticaria. Long-term use of glucocorticoids can cause side effects like plume of high blood pressure, glaucoma, cataracts and diabetes (or worsen during the last).
Treatment of chronic urticaria

As for the treatment of chronic urticaria, the situation is somewhat more complicated. It is possible to use the same antihistamines or glucocorticoids, taking them regularly and progressively increasing the dosage under medical supervision until the moment when the symptoms start to fade. Such a new antihistamine, as Spanish rupatadin (rupafin), well proven in the treatment of difficult flowing urticaria.

In the treatment of chronic urticaria, and this method is used, known as narrowband phototherapy. It is based on impact on a patient's skin high-intensity ultraviolet irradiation. To do this, several (2 to 5) times per week visit dedicated cabinet for completion of this procedure. Total for the improvement of the clinical picture may need about 20 of these sessions.

Leukotriene receptor antagonists (montelar, singular, ektalust, akolat) may help relieve redness and swelling of the skin. In the long term, they can serve as a good alternative to glucocorticoids, as not causing such unpleasant side effects.

Powerful drug cyclosporine (panimun Bioran, ekoral) has proven effective in the treatment of urticaria in 2/3 cases. Its operating principle is similar to that of glucocorticoids: cyclosporin eliminates the negative effects of the immune system. It should be noted that, as confirmed by the results of clinical trials, the longer used cyclosporin, the less its efficiency. Therefore, you should not use this medicine for more than 5 months, after which its effectiveness is only 25%.

And, of course, if you know the triggers that cause aggravation of urticaria in the individual patient, it is good to get out of their destructive influence. Factors provocateurs, like alcohol and caffeine can be easily erased from life. Since stress is more complicated, however, you should try to pry yourself from the clutches of making another step on the way to get rid of hives. In some cases, bad trigger relaxation techniques such as meditation or hypnosis, which can relieve stress and alleviate the symptoms of the disease.
