We are able to see how each individual food is processed and we can make assumptions about eating the wrong type of food, according to the way it is prepared and the size of each portion. The index classifies foods by rating them between zero and 100, with the lower the better. We need to be sure that our body can process and digest food more slowly, as if the opposite is true, we can put too much stress and strain on our systems. For example, the pancreas is forced to work overtime to produce blood glucose levels and insulin to be able to deal with a higher volume of carbohydrates that break down faster.
