By far, nutrition is the most important factor for building lean muscle mass. Here are some helpful tips to abide by:
1 - Eat every couple of hours
You may have heard this before, or read it somewhere that you need to eat regularly like every 2-3 hours to build muscle mass. That's true. By providing your body with vital nutrients consistently you booost up your metabolism and stimulate muscle building in your body.
2 - Eat 4-6 small meals per day
If you plan to build muscle, toss out the idea 3 huge meals a day. Eating too much in a single sitting makes your body more apt to fatten up because your body can only assimilate a certain number of calories per meal. So the rest will be stored as fat. So, it's recommended to eat smaller meals throughout the day, just about 4-6. Additionally, this elevates your metabolism and promotes fat loss.
3 - After-workout nutrition
When training with weights or free hand exercises, it's vital to implement good nutrition after your workout because if you don't, all your efforts will be thrown out the window. Right after your workout routine, gulp down some easily digestible protein like a whey protein shake to give your body a shot of much needed energy and to rebuild muscle tissues. You can even serve yourself up a quick hypo-glycemic shake. Wait about an hour, then you can have a solid meal.
4 - Focus on the proper foods
You definitely shouldn't train hard and neglect the proper foods to eat. Your main focus should be on complex carbohydrates, lean protein, fruits and veggies, and essential fatty acids. And, of course, remember to drink lots of water to hydrate your body.
If you are not seeing solid results from training your body hard to be lean and fit, you could be neglecting your diet. Therefore, it's extremely important to pay close attention to the helpful tips above for building up a lean, toned body.
