What's Inside Your Vegetarian Diet for Weight Loss?

1. 5 Meals a day - breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. You should not feel the urge to take night snack or supper once you take a fiber-rich dinner, which will last you till the following morning.

2. In all your weight loss meals, try to include whole natural vegetarian foods. Cut back on your processed vegetarian food, particularly TVP (textured vegetable proteins), which are infused with bad saturated fat, sugar and sodium. These could add more calories to your fat stores.

3. When eating your vegetarian diet for weight loss, make sure you fill your stomach to only 70% full for your breakfast, lunch and dinner, and your snack 30 - 40% satiety level only. Doing so can prevent you from feeling stuffed and avoid feeling tired after a hefty meal. Best part is, such meal plan will keep you metabolically active throughout the day. You need constant energy to keep you in tiptop condition and perform your daily tasks after all.

4. Take your time to savor every meal. Slowing down your eating speed allows your stomach ample time to "inform" your brain about your satiety level. Studies have shown that the stomach takes about 10 - 20 minutes to send the "full" signal to the brain. If you eat too fast, you can easily overeat. That's why many people feel stuffed after eating their meals.

5. The amount and type of beverages in your vegetarian diet for weight loss have direct impact on your weight loss too. Cut back on any kind of drinks and replace them with just plain water. Water carries zero calories. And it's the best drink ever to boost your metabolism for effective fat loss, thus far.

Drink the right amount depending on your body condition, the climate and the food you eat. For example, after eating a fiber-rich meal, you tend to feel thirsty. Go ahead and drink more water to properly hydrate your body. A well-hydrated body will lose weight more easily.

By now, you should have a clear idea on vegetarian diet and weight loss - vegetarian diet will only promote weight loss when you eat the right types of vegetarian foods in the right way.
